“But you promised!” Honey whined at her flowery companion.
“I know…but…it just doesn’t seem like a good idea,” Lilly replied, her voice tense and nervous. She didn’t like this; she didn’t like this one bit. There were only a few things that could make this fiery Lilligant anxious; this was one of them.
“We have already come so far, though!” Honey exclaimed. Pointing, she added, “It’s just over there!” Honey, the more timid of the two, was stalwart in her determination to complete their journey. Normally she had to be dragged into things, but, this time, she was doing the dragging. Her longtime companion’s dread was countered by her excitement. She had been looking forward to this for quite some time and, anyways, Lilly had promised.
“Fine, but I’m not going to like it.” Lilly pouted back.
“You never know, you might have fun!” Honey replied as the two continued onwards, through the empty street. She really hoped that her friend would have fun.
As they approached their final destination, Honey ran up ahead and pushed open the door, holding it for Lilly. Reluctantly, Lilly entered first, with Honey right behind her. A sigh of happiness escaped Honey’s lips as she looked around the book store. She absolutely loved books and reading. Even the scent of the place made her smile. Lilly looked about nervously. She wasn’t as excited. Honey had been helping her learn, but she could still barely read.
Taking Lilly by the hand, Honey rushed deeper into the store. “C’mon, let’s start with the science fiction and fantasy!” Pulled along after her, Lilly thought, At least this place will make Honey happy.

Eilam was eager to get some new books from the book store in the town that he and Dea had just arrived at. He knew Dea was out of reading material as well, that was why she had suggested this trip in the first place.
"Dea, what kind of books are you planning on looking at?"Eilam asked her.
"I was thinking I needed a new mystery novel to read, maybe see if I can find anymore interesting Agatha Christie books,"Dea replied.
"I know how much you love those books. I think I may look at some of the fantasy books, though it will probably be amusing to see a kid reading a novel,"Eilam laughed, pushing open the door of the bookstore and holding it open for Dea. Dea smiled as she walked in and looked around the store, trying to figure out where the mystery section was.
"I think the fantasy section is over there, Eli. Do you want me to go with you or can you handle it?"Dea asked.
"I wouldn't mind the help, in case the books are out of my reach,"he admitted. Dea nodded as they walked over to the fantasy section, so Eilam could find a book or two he liked.

Normally Honey, despite being a flying type, was rather afraid of heights. Today was not a normal day; she was at a book store! Determined to see the books on the top shelf, she had climbed up the shelves, as if they were a ladder. Lilly couldn’t help but look up at her friend in shock. If they had been elsewhere, it would have taken her ages to convince Honey to do something like this. For a moment, she couldn’t help but jokingly think that the next time she wanted Honey to go somewhere, she would have to tell her that there was a pile of books waiting for her. She wouldn’t actually do this, but still, it was a funny thought.
“So see anything interesting up there?” Lilly asked. She wasn’t seeing anything that interested her, but maybe Honey was.
“There is a book series on dragons!” Honey exclaimed in excitement. “I want to get them all!”
“Dragons?” Lilly asked, her interest somewhat piqued. She wasn’t much of a reader, but still, dragons were awesome! She was actually surprised that they didn’t scare the little Combee. Maybe they were less threatening in print?
“Yeah! Dragons! Here, can you catch these? I don’t think I can climb down and hold them at the same time.”
“Ok, sure,” Lilly replied, readying herself.
At Lilly’s reply, Honey dropped three books, one at a time. Lilly caught them easily. The front covers looked interesting enough, to her, but the insides, they were gibberish. The small writing and big words, it was enough to make her head spin.

Eilam was trying to think what kind of series he wanted to read this time.
"Dea, do you think they might have something as interesting as the Harry Potter series? I really want something that will leave me at the edge of my seat and make me want to keep reading,"Eilam told her, his eyes sparkling at the thought.
"I am sure they will have lots of interesting books that you can read, Eilam. Let's see, I am trying to remember what series I have heard was any good,"Dea mused.
"Oh Dea, what about the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I heard that is a wonderful book to read. I would love to try that one, it is supposed to have all kinds of interesting fantasy elements, including wizards,"Eilam babbled on and this caused Dea to smile. Like other things, Eilam and her both shared a love of the printed word.
"Well, I am sure they probably have it, but I certainly hope you don't plan on me carrying that book. It is supposed to be as big as a brick, that thing will break my back,"Dea laughed.
"I suppose I could try a smaller book, since I certainly don't want you breaking any bones on my account,"he giggled. He was so into his teasing and thoughts about books, he didn't notice he had run into someone else.

Distracted, as she was, by the alien looking words, Lilly didn’t notice the approach of the boy, at least not until he bumped into her. “What the?” she exclaimed, taken off guard by the bumping. She jumped slightly and almost dropped the books; luckily she managed to retain her grip on them. Spinning around, she turned to face Eliam. “Hey, watch where you’re going! I almost dropped these,” Lilly exclaimed.
From her perch, at the top of the book shelf, Honey was eyeing some more works of fiction. At the moment, she had her eye on one that had a robot on the cover. Hearing Lilly’s exclamation, she quickly turned. She almost slipped, but caught herself at the last moment. “Woah!” she cried out, “That was close.” Pulling herself closer against the shelving, she asked, “What happened?”

Eilam heard the girl yell at him and he turned to look at her, an apologetic look in his eyes. He didn't like to be yelled at, but he knew it was best not to add any oil to the fire.
"I am sorry, I was lost in thought and did not see you there. I do hope I did not cause any harm and that you can forgive me,"Eilam spoke, ducking behind Dea's leg as she came over.
"What happened, Eli?"Dea whispered.
"I was so busy talking to you and thinking about the different books I could be reading, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I accidently ran into that girl. She seems a little scary to me, Dea,"Eilam explained in an undertone.
"You probably just startled her, Eilam, don't be so timid. I think you are picking up a few of my habits,"Dea smiled. Eilam continued to peek out from behind Dea and he looked up as he heard another voice. He tilted his head to the side, wondering who and what she was.

Lilly raised an eyebrow at his apology; he sure was a sheepish Pokékid. What kind of Pokémon is he, anyways? “Eiliam is it? I’m Lilly!” Leaning towards him and tilting her head to the side, she asked, “What kind of Pokémon are you, Eiliam? I don’t think I have ever seen one like you before.”
Honey carefully descended the shelving, hopping to the floor when she reached the bottom shelf. She might have wings, but, now that she had legs, she rarely used them. “Oh, hello,” she started, seeing Eilam and Dea. Leaning towards Lilly, she whispered, “Who are they?”
“I think the Pokémon is named Eilam and the human Dea, at least that’s what they called each other” the Lilligant whispered back.
“Hello Eilam and Dea; I am Honey,” she stated, smiling sweetly. “Do you like reading?”

Eilam took a deep breath and Dea gave him an encouraging smile, letting him know it would be alright. Eilam nodded to her as he stepped out from behind her and nodded to Honey's question.
"Yes, I love reading, so does my trainer. That's why we are here, looking for new books we can read when we get a chance. You are right, my name is Eilam and my friend's name is Deanna, Dea for short. To answer your question, Lily, I am an Arceus, that's why I have this crest on my face and the tail,"Eilam replied. He seemed to be acting a lot calmer, now that Lily was not yelling at him.
"It is a pleasure to meet both of you and I would assume from your looks, you are both Pokemon too?"Dea asked.

“An Arceus?” Lilly, said questioningly, “Why does that sound familiar?”
Giggling, Honey answered, “Cause it’s a legendary, silly.”
“Oh,” Lilly commented back quietly, before saying, once again, only more loudly this time, “Oh!” It was then, at the second ‘oh’ that it clicked. She knew what an Arceus was! Didn’t Lexi and Sasha say they had run into an Arceus? I wonder if this is the same one…. He certainly didn’t look like they had described him, but he could have changed as well. She couldn’t help but find that amusing though, someone transforming an Arceus? She couldn’t help but release a giggle.
Honey, though, her memory was a bit more thorough. Wait a minute, Eliam….Dea….an Arceus? “Do you know Lexi and Sasha?” she blurted out. It had to be them, the names matched, and it’s not like there were swarms of Arceuses flying about. Wow, what a small world! “And um yes, we are both Pokémon, well, we were Pokémon, I’m not really sure what we are now….”

Eilam gave Dea a look as they talked about how he was a legendary and Dea shrugged. What the girls asked next caught them both by surprise and Eilam nodded.
"Yes, we have met Lexi and Sasha on our journey. It was before I had been changed into a kid like this. They had been looking for some berries and I was arguing with Dea who wasn't feeling very well. They seemed perfectly friendly, though the one licking me was a little weird,"Eilam recalled with a gentle laugh.
"You are still Pokemon, but you are also now part human as well. It is very confusing, but you still retain your Pokemon selves,"Dea spoke.

“I was right!” Honey exclaimed, with a wide smile, “I knew it!”
“Looking for food?” Lilly cut in, “That sounds about right.” She couldn’t help but laugh at that, those two were always eating, it seemed. She had no idea where it all went; neither of the girls were overweight but they could probably out eat a sumo wrestler…. Or three.
“Yeah,” Honey continued, with a shudder, “she does like to lick people…. It seems kind of weird….” She knew why Sasha said she did it, but still it was definitely odd. At least she didn’t do it regularly. “Well, we might still be Pokémon, but we certainly aren’t normal ones.

Eilam tried to think if Sasha had told them why she liked licking people like she did.
"If I remember right, I think she might have told us why she did it, but I am not totally sure. We have met quite a few people lately, so it is hard to remember who told us what. It is good to know we are not the only ones who found it kind of weird,"Eilam laughed.
"No, you are definitely not normal Pokemon, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Even people are not always normal, but that doesn't make them any less special,"Dea pointed out.

Shaking her head slightly, Honey replied, “She is convinced she can determine a Pokémon’s type by taste… She might get it right occasionally, but really, she is guessing at less than chance.”
Her speech somewhat hindered, because she chose to stick her tongue out, to better illustrate what she was saying, Lilly added, “See as exta ace uds, or uh ifrent ipes. Ot ust eet, hour, alty, itter, in um, uts uh udder un?”
Giggling, Honey answered her, “Umami. Umami is the fifth taste.”
Her tongue returning to her mouth, Lilly exclaimed, “Yeah! That one! But yeah, she must have extra taste buds! One for each type! She guessed I was Grass Type after all!”
Honey couldn’t help but laugh at that, she didn’t believe, but she wouldn’t smash Lilly’s belief.
“Well I didn’t mean it in a bad way,” Honey explained, turning to Dea, “Just that we certainly weren’t regular Pokémon anymore.”

"Ah yes, I do believe that was what they told us after she licked me. I think she messed up with my type, if I remember right,"Eilam recalled.
"Eilam, that's because your type is a little harder to figure out,"Dea reminded.
"Hey, it isn't my fault that I carry something that changes my type, Dea. Oh wait, I guess it would be my fault, never mind. At least she gets it right every once in awhile then,"Eilam replied.
"Alright, I just wanted to make sure you knew that you were still special. So do the two of you have a trainer too?"Dea questioned.

After Eliam’s comment, Honey couldn’t help but ask, “Um, do you have a lot of plates? Do you change types often? When you do….how differently do you look?” she was quite knowledgeable on the various Pokémon and couldn’t help but wonder how the change would affect this aspect of the Arceus.
Turning to Dea, Lilly stated, “Well, we live with a human, her name is Celes, but I wouldn’t really call her a trainer… She does take care of us and such, but she doesn’t seem like a trainer.”
