Siddie hadn't come out of her room for some time. The whispers in her ears and the shiftings in her peripheral vision had faded slowly, but she still felt paralyzed. Waking up and getting out of bed felt like wading through thick slime; opening the door was an absolutely insurmountable task.
She had to come out sometime.
She didn't want to come out.
She curled up in the messy nest of blankets she'd made for herself on her bed. She spent most of her waking time there. Clove kept her company, its small cool body nestling against her, its occasional chirps the only sound that broke the quiet.
Outside the room, footsteps and voices passed her door. Siddie closed her eyes and put her head back down on the pillow in the lightless room.

For once Siddie didn't have to worry about the door. Sammy would handle that herself, once she got the courage to open it. She couldn't count the number of times she had passed the room feeling a strange sense of dread, like she should put it off a bit longer. Siddie would be ready later, the next day, the day after that?
Finally she simply broke down, her bone fingers gently twisting the door handle and edging it open ever so slightly, "Sid?" She poked her head in ever so slightly, a single burning light of purple barely lighting the room, but giving Sammy a very clear view in all the darkness now tinted purple. She could make Siddie out staring vaugely towards the door where she stood, all nested in a pile of tangled blankets.
"Siddie are you okay?"

Siddie winced away from the sudden light as the door opened. She'd gotten so used to the soft, comforting dark again, practically forgotten what it was like to live in the light. She curled around Clove. The mini chirped at her and squirmed loose to climb upon her shoulder and sit up, looking at Sammy.
"Close the door," Siddie said, her voice scratchy with disuse.

She didn't hesitate to follow Siddie's request. Sammy slid into the room clicking the door shut. The only light was the faint purple glow of her eyes. it wasn't enough to light the room, simply light the features of the worried ghouls face as she looked down at the bed.
"You... you haven't been over in a while." Her voice was soft, not accusing, but mostly concerned.

Siddie looked up at Sammy, studying her face, then looking down to her hands, staring for long, silent seconds. "Your eyes are purple," she said, and scooted over on the bed to make room for Sammy in the tangle of blankets.

Her purple eyes flickered to Siddie as well, tracing the edges of her fingers. They where black, almost as black as the room. She was a void in the room, something darker then the lack of light. She wasn't grey.
"Nope... purple. Just like they always where." She moved closer crawling in among the blankets offering Clove a scratch behind the ear before leaning closer to Siddie.

"Good," Siddie whispered. "Sammy, I had an awful dream." She sounded almost childlike; she laid her head back down on the pillow, exhausted despite all the sleeping she'd been doing, her muscles stiff from lack of proper exercise. Maybe she should have locked the door. But Sammy had a key.
A little involuntary shudder ran down her spine at the thought.

Sammy only nodded to Siddie's response, she laid closer to the ghoul gently placing an arm around her. Pulling her and the mini over into a hug.
"A... A dream?" Would it be like hers? The faces of the people she loved, being attacked, being killed. The insanity, it was terrible what it did and she didn't want to think about it deep down, but it had passed for now.

Siddie rearranged herself a little, curling into Sammy's embrace. "I had to do terrible things," she whispered. "I didn't want to. I can still feel it on my hands. I don't want it to happen. I'm awake, aren't I?"

It was something familiar, Siddie curled up inside her form tugged in a hug as they lay entwined. "I know... I know I did things as well I just... I don't want to think about it." Her fingers reached up stroking the other ghouls hair. "It's been a week now, I haven't slept in a while again. The nightmares all of it... I think it's all over."

"I just want to sleep and not dream at all. It's so bright outside ... it's just so nice to stay in the dark." Siddie nestled closer, her shoulders trembling faintly. "I should go to class. I know I should. It's just so bright."

"I can't promise a lack of dreams, but you can sleep, you can stay here and I'll visit you instead of you coming to me. I can see in the dark now, we don't need lights." She pulled the ghoul closer, holding her close keeping her trembles down the best she could with her own body tucked around hers.

"Okay ... " Siddie tucked her head against Sammy's shoulder. Could she trust? She'd trusted so easily, so freely, without doubt or reservation. Had she been wrong? Sammy cared for her. Sammy took care of her, was taking care of her. She relied so much on Sammy.
Maybe with Sammy here she could sleep peacefully, and wake up again.
