It was early summer and the eve was mild and calm as the Cerynei had ventured far from his herd lands. Although he was not what one would call an 'active' member, he cherished the souls living under the watchful eye of the angeni Cuahcoatl; which was where he also made a demi home with his dear brother Wenopa. Moonhoof was often unable to stay in the herd lands for long; as his passion lead him off into the lands to collect and cultivate herbs; his passion for herbalism having consumed his life from an early age. salves, fragrances, decoration, farming...he had spent years in the trade.

While he was no spring chicken, his looks from being surrounded by peace and nature left him rather youthful in appearance, his pelt unmarred by any scars or battle wounds; his moon like eyes keen and insightful. Infact as he wandered quietly along through the thin forrest trails he looked like a ghost; his horns and hooves luminescent for as long as he could remember. His ivory pelt caught the moon's soft glow to nearly make it glow as well were it not for his navy markings. The only noise he really made was the sounds of his beads and charms hung and strung around his neck and horns making small clinks as some of them connected.

As he neared his destination around the rolling hills to the east of the flock territory, unbeknownst to him, he could feel his heart flutter in anticipation to what he would soon be upon. Only moments later did he stop in the rocky outcropping as the dark had been dispelled by the presence of mushrooms which held bio luminescent properties, their glowing green shape making his smile even brighter as he walked over and leaned his head down to study the amazing fungi. "Simply...beautiful..." He breathed, nosing one as he was lost to the world while his mind began to wander at amazing speeds.

Galla Sile fluttered in the perch of her tree as she looked down across the land around her. The soft moonlight made painted the world in shades of peaceful blue. It was exactly the type of thing her brother would like to paint. Unlike him, she could not capture the beauty of the night with weavings colours together or making ornaments--she could dance, and if persuaded she could sing the soft lure of moonlight. Her job was to guard from the night and whatever lurked in the corners.

Her feathers ruffled and her wings twitched idly in the light breeze as her lidded eyes fell on him. He moved like moonlight, or to be more precise--moonlight across water. He flowed smoothly, liquidly across the landscape with an air of peace. She could feel the essence of it seeping up to her.

Lightly, she glided to the ground. Walking silently, as he was trained she moved up close to the male. The closer she got, the more mysterious and the more coveted he became. What a pretty asset that she could bring to the flock. What a sweet, and peaceful demeanor that laid around him and all that were near like a cloak.

"Hello stranger," her voice was low and kind as she stood there bathed in moonlight.

Perhaps if he was a more trained stallion, or spent any kind of energy worrying about his surroundings...he would have heard the female. Yet he did not, often moonhoof was so far isolated in the woods where no one ventured that his guard never really was up; however when your closest companions were the plants one really had nothing to fear. So, when he heard the voice come out of no where he stared at the mushrooms in curiosity, did he just hear them...? No, that was illogical. Plants often thrived under music or gentle words but never did they have the ability to talk back.

Ever so slowly he raised his head and turned his body to lay eyes upon the mare, or so he thought. Butterfly wings...talons....unicorn...feathers? It took him a moment of unphased and fascinating staring before that latent little voice in his head told him he wasn't following the rules of society and was being rude.

"Good evening, Miss." His voice cracked a little, not used to speaking so loudly so that someone could actually hear him from a distance. Clearing his throat his eyes looked on beyond his dark locks, wondering of what lineage this female had come from with so many attributes of so many breeds. Needless to say her own blues made her body look so graceful as she moved, the light cerulean of her wings in the moonlight reminded him much of his brother's markings in the night glow. "Are these your mushrooms? I'm...sorry if I have intruded, I merely heard of them spotted in this region and had to see for myself. Some say they have medicinal properties which would help in my mixtures." Oh wait...he was what they called babbling, although to him he was used to monologue as it was the only talking he ever did in a day with his hermit lifestyle. "Could I perhaps, trouble you for a sample of them..? Perhaps a trade?" Afterall, he had lots of things back in his little hut of a 'laboratory' where he kept many things he collected along his travels to find herbs.

Galla Sile moved forward gently to catch his words. She could tell he was unused to talking much or being around others much. The way he gazed at her,t he way he spoke belied as much. He was ill at ease talking with someone. She kept her eyes on him, the soft glow of his horns to make him feel more at ease with her. The luminous eyes shone brightly like a light in the darkness.

"They are not mine," she smiled complacently. "Take a few if you want, they are a gift of nature not of mine." She watched as he looked at the mushrooms in a wondrous way. "The gifts of nature abound with ways to treat the ill, to help those who seek a way to heal themselves and others." She paused again, "You could have them always at your leisure here. You would be treated well amongst my sisters. You are a healer are you not?" She lowered her lashes over her eyes, looking at him through the black curtain of them in a convincing manner.

The proximity which she moved into stirred his soul, other than his family and the occasional brash foal back in his herd lands no one ever really got so close. While it didn't show in his expression or his body language, inside that little calm voice wasn't so calm as it urged him in caution. However as his eyes moved back down to the fungi he'd traveled so far to just behold; a part of him was relieved they were of nature's domain and someone had not cultivated them before.

"I agree, with the correct mixtures and delicate cultivation it could be used to light pathways and illuminate areas otherwise plagued by the dark of the unknown. For those not gifted with vision of the night it could be valuable to protect from surprise predators." He smiled distantly, remembering such a fear he had way back in the great Cerynei herd before the great fire destroyed his home. "To offer someone relief from pain, is something I hope to master in herbalism; I have infinite things to learn after all." Although Moonhoof knew he already had a vast knowledge of many areas of herbalism, there was always more to discover.

At her pause, however he looked back, a bit confused as his expression twisted to raise a eyebrow. "Here?" He looked around, wondering if he had wandered into another herd's territory. "Have I intruded?" As this blue hued mare spoke of her sisters, he concluded he must have in his tunnel vision to the mushrooms. "I...." Moonhoof began, not sure how he could say it politely. "I am honored you would think to include me in your...herd? I must confess the painfully obvious...I have lived as a hermit most of my life. I am not useful in crowds, nor am I strong or bold or have special traits..." The stallion took a glance over her tallons; surely even she or a foal would have a better time in any kind of display of confidence or battle than he. "I heal without prejudice, Miss. As Herbalists we hone our talents to assist the masses; but it is often a life of solitude as not many care to partake in a tedious life..." He folded his ears back and felt the gentle wind pick up and rustle his adornments, not declining her invitation, but not accepting.

Besides, he was about as useless in group settings as it came, and he was simply trying to be honest with the mare. He didn't want her thinking he was some great addition, even if he didn't fully understand the dynamics at play as he took a glance back at her as she looked at him so strangely. "Although my breed is often strong and vital creatures of noble stature, I didn't really come up to par with the other bucks."

She watched as his eyes held amazement and a certain awe for the mushrooms. He seemed intrigued and captivated by them. She phrased her words slowly, keeping her tone low so that he would have to lean in to hear them, "Maybe that you are not like others is why I like you."

Her talons grip into the soft dirt, as she takes another step closer. The lighted beads cast an illumination over them both, an eerie but satisfying glow. "We do not need warriors, for we are capable of war ourselves. We do not need to be dominated for we are strong ourselves."

She looked up at him through heavy eyes as the moonlight glinted on her armour. Her wings fluttered as she spoke, "Knowledge is power and you have it. You would heal and be kind to my sisters. You would not fear us and you would be kept safely to cultivate your herbs--protected." She paused again delicately, "There is power in a name. They call me Galla Sile. I am named for the falling start. Will you bless me with the knowledge of your name?"

Moonhoof didn't believe that the night was getting any warmer, or perhaps it was he all along as before he could really register what was happening in terms of proximity there she was; close and rather personal. His eyes widened only a bit, although with the way she stared into him through those moon hued orbs of his he was positive she would have noticed. If it was something he didn't do well with was assertiveness, his peace loving soul didn't have the fight in him, nor did he really wish to upset anyone.

Besides, in his life he learned a valuable and in-expendable lesson from the flora and fauna he loved so dearly...life's plan could never fully be cultivated yet things still grew to become beautiful. With his ears flicking forward and his body frozen in place as he was afraid to move in case he accidentally stepped on a mushroom in his absent mindedness; the cerynei was at a loss for words.

Protected, safe...he never would have in his entire lifespan would have thought someone would be...dare he say, interested. While he did pick up the flattery in her tone, it maybe never would hit him in the same sense that it hit others. True, with her talons she would best him at any measurement of strength, if her sisters were like her....well, he was sure all her claim would ring true. The stallion looked down, wondering if she was being logical about this...but Galla Sile as he came to learn the name of the smooth talking mare before him had hit all the points he made to the T and came back with completely logical retorts. He supposed with such fine creatures capable or war and warriors alike; they would come back with injury; especially if anything happened between creatures like her. Could he really turn down a call for help (in his mind) if her sisters needed to be healed?

The poor stallion looked terribly lost for a moment, wondering if there were any cons of the situation....but his heart rang true...he couldn't ignore a request after he had just finished saying he healed without prejudice. "My name is Moonhoof....which does not have any special or wonderful meanings. A simple name for my physical traits really." Catching the fluttering of her wings, he let out a small breath of air as he seemed to have come to a conclusion. "Miss Galla Sile....I cannot ignore any request for medicinal aid....I will come with you to your sisters." His lips curled into a gentle smile, that peace settling back over him now that his mind once more cleared of the thoughts and concerns. It simply was his way of life....although he wasn't sure what it all entailed, they needed his assistance in his mind...and like the dandelion who's seeds could travel vast distances...so could he. By the sounds of it, he would be given some kind of plot for his herbs as well; a chance to discover new soil to boot. The stallion watched her and her heavy eyes under that glinting armor, curious to her reaction from what he had said.

Galla SIle watched him weigh his decision in his mind. She could see the appeal of it sinking in--the calling in his blood was filling him. He would be happy with them--she knew it, and now he knew it. He would enjoy the flock and all they had to offer. He would grow things and heal them. He would be an asset, he would be good.

She heard him give his assent. She could see the decision come into his mind like a sudden illumination in the dark. "Moonhoof," she said the name lightly, tasting it on her tongue. "You come with me freely then? And you will stay? But know, that you cannot leave." Her voice was softy, if husky.

He was giving up freedom to bind himself to them, to their ways--to help them. He was true to his calling. Would he regret it in the end? But that wasn't for her to decided or wonder. He would come to the flock and he would stay. He would serve them well, and she thought he would be happy. Easy, gentle seduction--her first capture into the Flock and by persuasion and not force.

Her eyes drifted up to the stars twinkling in the night sky. The moonlight beaming down on them in soft illumination as they stood in silence. "You want to take some of the mushrooms with us to your new home?"

"I cannot leave?" He echoed, looking pensive for a moment as his ears slid back and his brows kitted barely so. There was the large con he was looking for, despite not quite realize the choice in the end would not be his to make without a fight. Which he was already bound to lose.

"That would hinder my research, my travels for new herbs and new wondrous cures and antidotes. It would be like stopping a flower before it could even bloom. Confined to one place...I would get no where with my studies. I could not give that up in the knowledge out there some where could be an undiscovered herb that could save abundance of lives, or grow vast quantities of food." Although it barely could be noticed, inside in that still calm demeanor he was in 'panic' mode. Not for his loss of freedom, but that burning desire to find and discover all the world's hidden treasures growing around ever bend.

"Miss Galla Sile, I know not of your sisters and your means in groups...but without my studies and my ability to continue to discover what is out there; what good am I? Just like these mushrooms..." He looked down to the mentioned fungi, although he would have loved to take these home or wherever she wanted her to do; would he never make another discovery as grand as this? The end of the line for his work?

Sighing deeply, his eyes remained locked on the glowing beauty at his feet. "If going to this new home means never being able to look for herbs in the world, I could not promise I wouldn't leave. It would be like asking a beautiful bird like yourself to stay in a cage and never fly. I may not have wings like you, but traveling and finding these herbs and then trying to unlock their secrets is the feeling I imagine flying would be." He looked up to her, his eyes forlorn. "Can this new home, still offer that?"

Galla listened to the hesitant in his voice and actions. She could see the want, the liking of the idea, but the obstacle in the way. She considered him before speaking, letting the idea roll around in her mind, trying to find a solution to the problem. He looked to be good stock, aesthetically pleasing. He was malleable, the kind of stallion that would be perfect for capture.

Shifting her weight, she watched as he looked at the mushrooms. He wouldn't remain with them without being able to do his craft. She understood that, she understood what he meant about losing his flight. If she lost her flight, she would lose so much of her self.

"Perhaps," she hesitated. "Some stallions are allowed more freedom than others, by earning it. You would not be allowed to come and go as you please, but with an escort perhaps you would be able to still keep your craft. If you use it to service my sisters and I, without trying to escape, we would not keep you from it."

She waited to see how he would respond.

Escort? Moonhoof listened as the mare was at least genuinely trying to think of a way to appease his only request. While the stallion had never needed an escort as he was very keen with the forest, the weather and the sorts and was old enough to handle himself for many, many years now...she wasn't backing down. He knew better that either he would meet his fate here like the bulk of his herd in the great fire or he would surrender his 'freedom' and become one with this mare and her sisters.

He may have been a hermit, but he wasn't stupid.

"If you can guarantee me an escort, or multiple escorts....I don't have any real reasons to decline your demand. My life's purpose is the herbs, the rest is just details and circumstance." Besides, he was a stallion of reason as well...in his mind life wasn't about freedoms, or being social or alone. He lived for the world, for herbalism. He figured as well he could also try and think of means to contact his brother as well...but they went some time between seeing one another anyways.

Looking up as his glowing golden orbs softened in acceptance for what was to come; he dipped his head slightly. "I will come with you, Miss Galla Sile." Clearing his throat, he looked back in the direction to which he came. "Would it be more preferable for us to head back to my home and gather a few of my things; or may I go gather them later with an escort?" It really didn't matter to him how soon he got his things; mostly dried herbs stocked away for safekeeping...he was gone for long periods of time and his home was pretty hidden from any no gooders or looters.
