 t was a warm afternoon, and Faegan was busy scouring the land. Nothing to exciting had happened yet on this summer day. he had seen a few foals running through playing a game of tag earlier, until one of the tripped on a rock. He also caught a lovely couple snuggling under the tallest oak. He admired their closeness as he walked past, and up towards the open meadow area.
"Wonder what t'day may bring" he asked himself. "tis still rather young, 'm sure something 'll stroll my way." He wandered farther away from the couple, but curiously turned to watch there moves. He didn't want them to suspect that he was being nosey, but what better way to learn than by observation.

Taking her daily walk, the one thing that keeps her mood uplifted and positive, Nukpani strolled casually through the lands. The warmth and the sun was quite refreshing as she had found a meadow on her stroll.
In the meadow, she grazed on the grass lightly, tail flicking softly behind her. Her ears twitched at all the sounds around her, from chirping crickets and birds, to giggling foals running about. It seems she wasn't the only one enjoying the sun as families and couples came out and enjoyed the day. Watching some of the other horses from a distance, she snorted softly, ears flattening against her head. Normally, one would be hopeful that some day, they would have the same fate as those she was glancing at, but this mare doubted it. No one would want to be with a mare who could switch moods in a blink of an eye.

As Faegan strolled farther away from view of the couple he had been previously admiring, he noticed that there were a few more couples and families out and about, and why not, the warmth provided a nice time to come out. As he strolled, he picked up bits and pieces of conversations that were transpiring. Some of they he really didnt want to hear, but some of them were quite amusing, especially the young foals bickering about whether they had indeed made a 'tag' while playing or not. He enjoyed hearing the foals, and wonder for a brief moment if he would ever get to enjoy them.
As he passed the foals, something caught his eye. In the not so far distance, he saw a mare standing alone. "Must be something worng." he said to himself, "Sh's alone." Then he thought for a moment at what he had just said. After all, he was alone to, "That's normal for m'self though" he giggled.
Faegan decided to move a little closer to the mare, and see if he could hear anything. He walked cautiously as to not startle the mare, stopping briefly to grab a few berries off of a lone bush. As he approached, he thought he may have gone a few feet to close, so Faegan decided to back up a bit, spending a few moments listening and deciphering his next move.

The mare continued to watch the other couples and foals until she got bored of it. More like, she was feeling herself grow upset and not wanting to flip her mood, she chose to ignore it. With that, she moved her attention at the grass at her hooves, and begun to graze.
As she plucked blades from the ground, she spotted movement coming her ways. Her ears perked first before she lifted her head to look at what caught her attention. What she saw was another horse, a stallion by the size of them. He was interesting looking, but nothing threatening. She quirked a brow as he seemed to come close, only to back up again, tilting her head. Finishing what she had in her mouth, she called out. "What are you doing?"

"Oh, hello there," Faegan said with a smirk. " 'M sorry, didn't mean t' encroach!" He looked at the mare a bit closer now that she had seen him. " 'M just out enjoying the warmth of th' sun, listening t' th' others run about amok" He finished. He walked closer to the mare, hoping he wouldn't scare or intimidate her. " 'Nd what might you be doing on this fine day?" he asked curiously, "Ya seem to be th' only other without company."

Nukpani bowed her head in greeting when the stallion had said hello to her, then apologized. She eyed him cautiously when he smirked at her, wondering if he had alterior motives. He might be enjoying the sun as he said, but what sort of assailant would purposely tell their victim what they planned on doing? The fact that he was the only other one that was also on his own, beside herself, made it all more suspicious. Inwardly, she hoped that it didn't look like she was distrusting of him, she really wanted to see if her assumption was wrong, but she wouldn't get the chance if he became upset with her because her topsy-turvy emotions got the better of her.
At his question of why she was out and about, she gave a light shrug. "Oh... I guess to just enjoy the nice day and take a walk."

"Tis a nice day ta be enjoyin some time by yerself. I do it quite a bit myself." Faegan said to the mare. He noticed she seemed a little but stand-offish now, but he chalked it up to simply being overly watchful of the mare. For some reason, he was more intent on getting to know this new acquaintance, but couldn't answer why. "F' you'd rather 'njoy th' day by yerself, I can let ya be." he said, hoping that she'd allow him to stay.

Nukpani just nodded in agreement to his comment about it being a good day to enjoy by oneself. She was not saying that she wanted to be by herself per say, it was just something she was agreeing with. Mostly, she was just taking the time to make note of the stallion. He was truly odd, he was the size and shape of a horse, but his face and other features looked like those goat things humans kept. It was interesting to say the least. When he had asked if she would rather be by herself, she shook her head. "No... no... you can stay if you wish."

"There seems t' be a bit o' hesitation in your answer, m'lady" Faegan replied. Quickly though, before she could fit a reply in, he continued, "Th' name's Faegan!" He stood for a moment, before bowing his head, giving the impression that he was indeed ready to leave. He began to feel that he had not given himself enough time to get to know the mare from a distance from confronting her, and felt just a tad bit shy. His feeling of 'jumping the gun' should soon pass, the though to himself, after all, she hadn't told him to leave just yet.

Her ears flattened against her head for but a moment when he had made note of her slight hesitation of her answer, but just snorted softly. When he introduced himself, she still remembered her manners she was taught by her mother, and bowed her head to him. "It's nice to meet you Faegan. My name is Nukpani and I must apologize to you." She kicked at the ground lightly in slight embarrassment, "if I had seemed cross with you earlier and am now more social, I'm afraid it's because my temperament tends to shift to and fro at whim. I never know what may set me off one way or another."

Faegan was shocked at the mares manners, especially bowing at him. "Tis no need for that M'lady," he started, "I'll 'ave t' admit, I've not seen anyone with manners like that." He bowed his head a bit to acknowledge the mare and return the kindness. He was really quite flattered at the mares seemingly sudden change, especially when she began to apologize. "There be no need t' apologize m'lady, least no t' me."
After a moment though, Faegan thought about the mare and her replies. "So, d' ya want me to leave ya alone then?" After all, there still had been some hesitation in her answer that she had no clarified.

"You can just call me Nukpani." She told him, making a small face at being called 'M'lady'. When he said that he hadn't seen anyone else with manners, she had to worry what kind of parents these others had if they weren't taught manners when they were younger. "Really? That's a shame." She said with a shrug as he returned her bow with one of his own. She rolled her eyes when he said that there wasn't anything to apologize for. "If I were to apologize to someone else, what makes you think I shouldn't apologize to you... especially when I treated you so rudely?"
When he asked if she wanted him to leave, she quirked a brow. "It sure seems like you don't want to be around anymore. You don't have to beat around the bush, if you don't want to stay, you don't have to." She retorted, it being obvious that her mood had flipped yet again.

"Nukpani, 'tis a pretty name f'r a pretty lady." He said to the mare. "N' these days, these p'rents don teach their children manners n' respect. Tis a shame." he replied. Faegan had watched many families from a distance, and ofeten wondered how they would grow up with a clear lackadaisical idea of raising a child. Faegan would often think about his own foal, and how he thought he could do a much better job that most of the parents out there.
"M'lady," he began with a bit more of a stern voice before pausing for a moment. He took a deep breath, remembering he statements just a few minutes ago. "Nukpani, I adore your presence. Jus' wanted t' be sure that ya felt th' same way. I don't wanna be a hindrance to your day." he continued, using a much calmer voice. It was apparent that Fagan had sat the mare off, but knowing that it might happen, he didn't want to cause any more hard feelings.

"Thank you." She said lightly, bowing her head in appreciation to the compliment of her name. She soon shook her head at the thought of parents not teaching their foals any manners. If it was her foal, though she may never be able to predict her mood, she will still teach manners and respect in some way to her children. "I fear the younger generation." She mused, mostly to herself.
She looked to him and quirked a brow at his stern voice, but calmed when he seemed to calm. At his words, she snorted softly. "No, you're not a hindrance at all."

Faegan was overjoyed that the mare seemed to be responding to him in the way he had hoped for, but he'd have to remember to keep the calm voice, for startling her would surely set the mood swing again. "'Tis good t' hear, I'd hate t' be botherin' such a pretty lady like y'self."
He wanted to make another attempt to move a bit closer to the mare, but again, he didnt want to startle her. He glanced around and saw a small berry bush, with just a few berries on it. "D'you like some berries?' he asked as he grabbed the small branch with them on, and walked closer to the mare.
