The usually calming thumping of her loom was interrupted by an angry screech coming from elsewhere in her house. Dizzian leapt from her seat and followed the sound to her room where she discovered Tweaker and Spazz tumbling about on her bed, each trying to prevent the other from reaching an odd lump of fabric Dizzian didn’t recognize. The two little flits were screaming their heads off as they fought with eachother. “Oi! Knock it off!” Dizz reinforced her yell with a mental push, scaring the two little lizards under her blankets.

She gave a heavy sigh as she crossed the room and retrieved the mysterious bit of cloth. She really needed to find someone that would help her train those two. It was obvious she couldn’t do it herself. The first thing she noticed was that it was a vest, definitely used, and the beastcraft’s emblem embroidered on it. Dizzian frowned. She’d never owned a vest like this one and there’s no way it would’ve fit her father. “Oh!” She gasped as it was tugged out of her hands unexpectedly. Tweaker scuttled back to the blanket, clutching her prize in her claws protectively. “Oh no you don’t!” Dizz grabbed the vest in one hand, thumping the little green gently on the head with her other. She’d had to deal with this before. Tweaker was a notorious little theif, something Dizz didn’t know how to break her of. No amount of scolding or punishment seemed to deter her from her exploits. Dizzian gave the vest another glance, it didn’t look damaged at least. She’d have to find who it belonged to. Her father would be the first place to go.

Dizzian scowled. This was not how she wanted to spend her day! She’d questioned every beastcrafter she could find out with the herds, none of them could place the vest. Neither Spazz nor Tweaker could give her enough clues as to who it belonged to either. Midday came and went, leaving her hot, hungry and irritated. Dizzian returned to the weyr complex, giving the hardening clutch a longing glance on her way by. The mess hall was sparsely populated as the lunch hour was finishing up and she was able to find a seat easily, asking a serving drudge for a glass of redfruit juice and something cold to eat. She laid the vest down beside her on the table, the emblem clearly displayed. It looked like a child’s vest, maybe she’d try the lower caverns next. It could belong to one of the fosterlings.

On his down time, S'kiro enjoyed going to see the Beastcrafters and helping them out. He had his weyr set up so that he could find almost anything with just a glance, but something was missing. Normally next to the sketch of Neptanth was his old vest when he started training as a healer for the beast, but it was missing. His flits were scattering as the rider looked for his vest. The sentimental value of it was making it really hard for him to think straight. Mine, you are distressing all of us here. What is wrong?

The sound of his dragon stopped his need to find the vest for the time being. "Just a vest I had, before being Searched. You know that is why I enjoy going home and talking with the Beastcrafters." Sighing, S'kiro made his way outside. By now, Ishbel was the only flit that was staying close to him. Chirping at him, the gold flit showed meat. Rubbing her eyeridge, he obliged her wishes and headed to the mess hall.

Tweaker and Spazz had re-appeared in the middle of her meal. The little green's eyes whirled with anxiety as she chirped and chittered, twining herself around Dizzian's neck and begging forgiveness. She rubbed her head vigorously against the girl's cheek.

Spazz settled into her lap, his head resting on the table edge as he stared at her plate. He whined patheticly. Dizzian tried to stifle her grin. It was almost impossible to stay mad at the little beasts. Still she hoped to never have more. Tweaker thankfully was still to young to rise.

Dizz raised her eyes from the dish of cold meatrolls and fruit slices on her plate as someone entered the relatively empty mess hall. "S'kiro!" She called out and waved happily to the blue rider. At least here was a bright point for her day. Though they never really spent much time together, Dizzian liked the young rider. He and Neptanth were the ones currently keeping her hopes up for this next clutch. She patted the table space next to her, a clear invitation. "You look out of sorts! How's Neptanth?" her lips pursed into a small frown of worry.

Distracted, he turned at Dizzian's call. "Hi." Ishbel gave a little chirp at the other two flits, while making it clear that she was in charge of the group. S'kiro could see a bit that she was content with just two flits. Walking past a drudge, he asked from some meat, fruit and something cool to wash it down with.

"Neptanth is fine. I just..." He was standing at the table, staring at his vest. "Where did you find that?" His tone shocked. He didn't think she would take it, but looking at her flits...Would one of them really take it?

Tweaker chirped back, accepting the gold's presence even if she didn't like her dominance. Spazz's eyes whirled faster but he didn't move from his position. "That's good to hear- What?!" Dizzian jumped at his outburst, blinking with confusion. Spazz took the opportunity to nab a meatroll and crawl across the table. Tweaker hissed and slid down Dizzian's arm to curl protectively over the vest. Her eyes whirled with little streaks of yellow as she stared up at S'kiro.

"Tweaker brought it into my room this morning. Why? Do you know who's it is?" The intensity in him scared her just a little.

Ishbel was happy that the other flits accepted that she was the one in charge right now. Gliding down she ate some off S'kiro food with somehow dainty bites. Just as she was about to finish the first piece, the green was hoarding the vest.

S'kiro stared at Tweaker and groaned. He heard rumors of stuff disappearing, but didn't think it would be a flit. "I know that vest very well. It was the first one I wore." He was annoyed that the flit took it, and some at Dizzian for not breaking the green, but flits could be a handful.

Dizzian grimaced and went to pry her green from the vest. All she got was a sharp tail thwap on her wrists. Tweaker curled in on herself, her head tucked under her tail and her wings mantled over the vest. "Oh Shards! I'm sorry S'kiro! She's a horrible little thief. Nothing I do seems to deter her! I was just out at the beast pens trying to find who it belonged to. I didn't know you were a beastcrafter!" Dizz rubbed her red wrist and glared down at the little green. "Tweaker! Off! That is Not Yours!" She tried to re-enforce the message but the little green was having none of it. Dizzian groaned. "Maybe your gold there might be able to help? My parents bought me their eggs about a turn ago after I failed Impression again but I think they've been more a curse than a blessing!" She was distressed and it showed by how she rambled. It was bad enough when the little green stole random shirts or kerchiefs or socks but for her to take something of value belonging to someone Dizz considered a friend was going to far.

Spazz was paying no mind to the fuss everyone was making, so long as they didn't notice him grabbing more food from their plates he was content.
