Michiko waded out into the crisp, cool waters near her and Jaro's settled meadow, just south of Aila's land where Michi grew up, but far enough that the two new Lifemates could have their own space with their children Arachnae and Jara, and any other children that came along.
Michiko loved her new life. She was peaceful with Jaromir. Less depressed than she had been when he left her. But also longing to associate with her old friends, not that she knew where Shuy and Zaira lived anymore. But she was okay, as long as her beautiful stallion was nearby.
Michiko looked over at her mate, her heart filling with happiness and the love that always seemed to jump in her throat when she realized he was near. She loved that male with her whole heart, and wanted nothing more than to please him in anything he wanted.
Well... and maybe she wanted foals of her own too

Jaromir watched his mate from afar. He had just seen to it that Arachnae and Jara would be having a play date with Jondayla and his mate Kelyan's children. Although the other couple's children were older than their own, Kelyan assured them that they would be fine. This gave Jaro a sense of peace, that he would finally get some time alone with his mate. "How's the water?" He asked as he trotted up to the nice little lake they had found to settle in near. Once he was close, he stepped gracefully into the water, swimming out to where Michi waded giving her a nuzzle. "How are you my love?" He asked, voice full of adoration. "Jondayla and Kelyan are watching the girls, they said their boys would make sure they have fun." A hint of laughter was in his voice, knowing how eccentric the other boys were.

If Michiko had been a cat she would have purred when her mate came up beside her, his hide rubbing hers. But she was not, and instead a warm humming filled her chest. "It is just lovely, Jaromir, my light. And I am well so long as you are near." She nuzzled her mate back, holding back the tears of joy that threatened to fill her eyes. She laughed as Jaro told her about the babysitting arrangements. "Oh dear.. Our children are going to be corrupted by the hour!" She teased. Jondayla knew very well that she adored him, his mate, and their rambunctious children, and wouldn't take offense to it if he accidentally overheard a comment like that one day.

"I wouldn't say that! Don't you have any faith in Aila? She is Jonda's chosen so I'm sure she'll watch." He swam a circle around her, smiling at her 'my light' comment. "So a day without the children, what shall we make of it?" He asked. "Today is your day, love, what shall we do?" He wanted to make sure she had a nice relaxing day since they didn't have to worry about taking care of the children.

"Can I spend the day forever in your eyes?" Michiko asked before erupting in giggles at her cheesy line before stepping to the water's edge and shaking some of the moisture from her hide. "I'll race ya. First one to that stump over there wins." She flicked her orange tail as she cast a teasing glance at her mate. "Ready, set, go!" She hollered out, already running on the word set, her green hooves eating up the ground beneath her

"Hey, cheater." He chuckled as he quickly swam out of the lake and galloped to try and catch up to her, but her lead was too great and he wasn't really feeling like being all competitive. "Awe, well you win." he bumped her hip. "And no, you cannot spend the day in my eyes, I think they're just a little too small for that dear." He said lovingly, teasing her.

Michiko smiled as she leaned against her mate. "But your eyes are so beautiful, just like the rest of your darned hide." She teased. "I love you, Jaromir. You are the light of my soul." She sighed blissfully, happy to just lean against him for the time being. She stood like that for awhile... silently, just listening to the world around him, listening to their syncopated breaths and heartbeats, listened to her life with him.
Maybe she should approach the subject of having foals of their own... it wasn't that she didn't love Nae and Jara like her own, she did. But there was something different to having foals of your own, than having foals that were born to the love of your life and another female. "Jaromir, my love..." she began hesitantly.

Hearing the hesitation in her voice, Jaromir knew what topic she was going to ask him about because he too had been thinking of it. "Michi, wait." He said not a moment after she had spoke. "I know what you're about to ask me, and I have been thinking about it as well. I know you love Nae and Jara as much as I do even though its different for you. I have been thinking about an expansion of our family, we have enough space to accommodate more children and although the girls are still young, they are not much trouble. I guess what I'm saying is, Michiko, my mate, the one who completes me, would you have foals with me?" He asked hesitantly. Jaro didn't really know what caused his sudden outburst but he was glad for it.

Michiko sighed and looked away from her mate, sure that he was about to deny her from her hesitant request. But when she heard him as her if she would have his foals, her eyes widened and she looked up in surprise at him. "Are...are you sure?" She asked, sure she must have heard him wrong.

"Of course I'm sure, Michi my love. We've been doing wonderfully with Nae and Jara and I know its kind of difficult for you caring for another mare's children though you love them all the same. I would really like to have more children. Honestly." Jaromir laid his heart on the line. Suddenly, he wondered if she was even going to ask about that. "I-I mean...that was what you were going to ask about right? Because...if not...I-I don't mean to try to pressure you into anything..."

Michiko chuckled and gently nudged her mate. "Yes.. that is what I was leaning towards. And honestly, in my heart Jara and Nae might as well be mine... but at the same time.. they remind me of.. when we weren't together..." Michi looked away, not wanting to make her mate sad or uncomfortable, but having no other way to explain what she was feeling.

"I...I know...and you wouldn't even begin to understand how I feel about that. I feel terrible, but I can't really say that I regret it because I got Nae and Jara out of it, and who knows, maybe if Nae was never born she would never have brought us back together....I know it may break your heart and it hurts me every time I think about my betrayal. And I hope that someday you will be able to forgive me..." Jaromir looked away uncomfortably.

Michiko sighed. Jaromir had interpreted her words just as how she hadn't wanted him to. She cuddled her mate closely. "I love you, Jaromir. Nothing will change that. And I have nothing to forgive you for. Because of whatever happened between us, we now have two beautiful daughters, and we are once again together." She said softly, her green eyes closed as she leaned against the larger stallion for support. She stayed like that for awhile, just in silence. Loving his comfort.
