THE WEEPING FOREST The Weeping Forest: - Roll a 100-sided dice each time you post. Match your dice roll to the results below as to what you find. Make sure to RP out the post. You can work with someone else as well, so each of you can obtain max 10/15 items (depending on your job class) - You can only rp here with other Lost Clans members. This will still take place in the MAIN section of the guild where all the rp goes however! - Occasionally you will hear ??? noises. It seems minipets are pretty common in the area! You can summon any minipets your horsemen has carried with them/ found/ etc etc (or even found in the forest, as it is abundant with minis) to help you around in this area/ look for supplies/ etc etc. Unlike students, Lost Clans members use minis as tiny workers, and will only summon them as necessary and less so of a vanity item. - Once you are done, don't forget to claim points here- 1- 10: Thick branches - 11- 20: Wispy leaves (easily flammable) - 21- 30: Large hollow tree (dead) - 31 - 40: Tree bark - 41 - 50: Sticky tree sap - 51 - 60: Bones from dead minipets - 61 - 70: Dry moss - 71 - 80: Pine needles - 81 - 90: Large slab of stone - 91 - 100: Simple clay

As much as Jay wanted to explore Amityville, she wanted to ease into her new life. She didn’t want drown in the strange sights and sounds or confuse herself with the unusual technology the students eagerly toted around. It was easier for the horsewoman to crawl around the Weeping Forest. The forest was a far cry from her jungle home, but the blankets of tall trees were still a comfort. She crouched low, a hand reaching out to grab a handful of dirt and examine the forest litter. Jay let the leaves and twigs fall between her fingers. Different. It was so different. She stood back up. Her eyes swept across the area. She had never realized how much she would have missed the sounds of animals rifling through the plants. Lips pulled into a deep frown. Everything was so quiet. Jay brought both hands to her mouth to imitate a bird, calling upon her memories of the isle.
She chirped like a blue jay, but nothing answered.
Grimacing, she decided to cease her idling and picked up a large slab of stone. She sighed under its weight and she looked around. Minipet. Minipet…

Chirp.
The sound had strange, mismatched eyes raising up from the stone slab Neru had been etching along with a chunk of charcoal, and she glanced around herself, curious towards the source. It sounded like a bird, but not. More like one of the jungle dwelling members of the War clan, and a kinsman, even one not from her own tribe, was enough to get her to her feet.
It didn't take long to find the other horsewoman, and she watched quietly as the other woman bent to lift a large chunk of rock. "That looks heavy," she commented idly, voice thick, like the rest of her lost clan. It was an obvious observation and Neru knew it.
She also wasn't hurrying to offer the other girl any assistance.
Instead she bent to grab a few long, thick lengths of dead branches. The fire back at her camp was a hungry thing, and they were running shy on fuel.

He did not know why he was back in the forest again. In fact, the last place that Mengyao wanted to be was in the forest, but here he was, traipsing through it, his robes trailing along the dirt and leaf strewn floor and quite possibly staining them dark brown in the process.
He tried not to think about that too much. Instead, his mind was focused elsewhere; on Lifen, on Yuzhi, on Lan, on those he still cared about that were still here and still alive. A part of him, the voices in his head, reminded him of the family he had lost.
That was in the past. There was no changing that, so why try now?
Instead, Mengyao simply pushed on through the woods, idly brushing the feathers of the fan against his cheek every now and then. He supposed if he had wanted a moment of silence, he could have simply wandered around the grounds of Amityville, but he did not particularly want to deal with any of the students, and the tents of Conquest were too crowded.
He missed having his own room. Sharing a communal place for sleep and dress was...unpleasant. Disgust curled his lip upwards for a brief moment, but then he sighed, exhaling slowly.
Flowers, he thought to himself. I need to find what I am looking for.
There was a soft chirping noise - a noise that even Mengyao could not mistake for an actual bird, though it was still rather bird-like. He tilted his head, looking for the source of the sound, though part of him was not really all that interested - and he found it easily after a moment or two of searching.
A War horsehorsewoman, dragging a heavy slate of grey rock similar to the ones that Mengyao had found with Lifen - and just like he had not been alone, neither was she. Another horsewoman stood several feet away, gathering some branches with dark-skinned arms and a thick veil over her face, obscuring his view of it. Mengyao lifted a brow.
"Well, what have we here?" he asked lightly, a serene smile curving his lips upwards. "Good afternoon, ladies."

Her eyes darted to the side at the arrival of another Clans member. To Jay’s disappointment, it was not another War horsemen, but she wasn’t going to complain. She wouldn’t completely reject the company of a student either, but if she had to pick between the two it would be her fellow horsemen hands down. Jay adjusted the stone slab in her arms. She grinned. “Nothing I can’t handle.” Then again, she was fairly small. The rock was rather large in her tiny hands. She summoned a minipet, the brown-furred treat scurrying out of the bushes. It squeaked when Jay plopped the stone into its tiny arms. The bones around its neck jingled angrily, but the treat grudgingly complied.
The other horsewoman seemed to have the right idea, however, so she walked to Neru’s side and began to pull off some branches as well. The leaves rustled noisily, but not enough to drown out Mengyao’s greeting. Jay held the sticks of wood in her arms and turned to face him. She took in the sight of his clothes, fancier and more complicated than her own. Actually, the other horsewoman had rather intricate clothing as well. Compared to War, the other clans often had fancy outfits. Jay cracked a smile. “Hello,” she answered. She noticed him standing around and she raised an eyebrow.

The war horsewoman's retort was enough to ensure the priestess that she was dealing with a strong, confident individual, and she couldn't help but offer a smile towards her. "So I see. You do your clan justice." The woman in front of her was not impressive in size, but she handled the slab of rock as though it weighed only a fraction of what it did in reality. Such strength, packed into such small packaging. War had always been impressive like that. The arrival of another new face stole both ladies' attention, and Nergui offered the horseman a curt nod and the barest flicker of a polite smile. An automatic response. The smile softened though as she noted the robes, recognizing the man as a member of Conquest, and their now unified clan. "Good afternoon yourself." She gave the veil she was wearing a little twitch, allowing it to lay along her face instead of partially obscuring it. Though her right eye remained carefully covered, the golden glow of infection was still visible though the thin, lacy fabric. A spot of matted shine caught Neru's attention. Tree sap, and sticky stuff from the looks of it. There was always need for some form of adhesive, so she gathered a few large leafs and collected what she could find, then placed them with her branches. "It would be much nicer if the walk took place outside of the woods," replied Mengyao, casting a mildly amused smile over his shoulder at the first horseman. She was dressed neither elaborately, nor in clothes that seemed as though they would hinder her in any way; just another facet of the former War clan.
The other, on the other hand...Mengyao's eyes flickered towards her, tracing the dark lines of her clothing, the heavy folds and the black draped cloth. A thin, spindly veil hung down over a side of her face, obscuring one half of it from view - but it was not enough to conceal the flash of gold beneath it.
Interesting, thought Mengyao, though he said nothing, instead turning towards the first horsewoman, idly turning the fan over in his hands.
"Might I ask what your names are?" he said lightly, though he made no move to help either one of them with their scavenging. He had done his due, and he was not inclined to do more, at least not today. "When one steps into unfamiliar territory, it's always best to gain as much from it as possible."

Jay smiled and managed a courteous bow, her scarves flowing in the small breeze. “Thank you! I try to make my clan proud whenever I can.” She threw the death horsewoman a curious look when she caught the flash of gold in one of her eyes. Her eyes were wide, her expression innocently inquiring. While Jay would have gladly blurted out the questions that surged through her mind, this was a horsewoman not from her own clan. True, they were now united, but borders were difficult to remove quickly.
She frowned at the conquest horseman’s suggestion. “No! I like the woods. The treetops provide shade and the plants are colorful and the animals make interesting sounds.” To prove her point, she opened her mouth and offered a convincing imitation of a panther’s growl, low and rumbling in the throat. For many, the sound appeared to be identical to the original. “Oh!” Her eyes lit up. “I’m Jay!” She grinned broadly, her wings ruffling as she bent down to pull out a pile of dry moss from the forest floor. “What about you two?”Jay's Items Large slab of stone x1 Thick branches x1 Dry moss x1

The Conquest Horsemen's comment on the woods had Nergui wrinkling her nose in response, how typical. Thankfully the lacy veil hide enough of her features to mask the gesture. She wasn't exactly the easiest woman to get along with, and generally she didn't waste the effort to care, but with all that had happened, and all they were now tasked to do, it wouldn't do to offend any possible help. Mengyao hadn't bothered to lift a finger yet to aid them in their scavenging, but there was a slim chance he might, and the priestess wouldn't ruin that chance. "The words aren't bad, there are lots of valuable resources to find." It was a little curt, but she'd kept her tone even and bordering on polite, and that was damn good for Nergui. She busied herself with collecting a bit more tree sap as the other two horsemen talked. Rejoining the conversation only after the Conquest noble had asked for their names. "Nergui," she offered simply, again biting her tongue to keep from pointing out that male had collected nothing from this new territory except a couple of names. The other woman, Jay, though a bit energetic, appeared to have a decent work ethic. It hoisted her up a peg or two in Nergui's book. Bi-colored eyes returned to the well dressed noble, charcoal brows raising expectantly as she waited for him to offer up his own name. It was only polite after all. If Nergui expected Mengyao to assist them, she was sorely mistaken. He had already fulfilled what he deemed to be his quota of excessive work for the day, and despite the fact that there were two horsewomen in front of him, he did not really feel any inclination to pitch in and help. With Lifen, yes, certainly, and with Lan or Yuzhi, but not with unknown strangers.
"Shade, perhaps, yes," replied Mengyao lightly, idly twisting the fan in his hands around. "But other than that, I'm afraid I find the woods rather tiring - and a bit too...wild for my taste. I prefer the comfort of a situation that takes place indoors, rather than outside, exposed to all of the elements."
Tilting his head at the other two, Mengyao mentally placed the names to the faces - Jay for the War clanswoman, cheerful and hardworking, it seemed; and Nergui for the dark-skinned one, more stoic and a little brusque - and clearly someone who was waiting for him to return the favor of giving his own name after asking theirs.
"Mengyao," he said smoothly, and smiled serenely. "A pleasure to meet you both."

“I like the woods!” This probably wasn’t very surprising to the other two horsemen. The isle of War was a jungle, after all. “I like climbing the trees and going from tree to tree and the plants and the animals and the shadiness! I really like the woods.”
“Nergui. Okay.” Jay nodded her head, but then appeared to ponder something. “What would you do if I called you Nergu instead?” It seemed hypothetical, but it wasn’t that difficult to realize that it was what the horsewoman wanted to call Nergui. Nicknames were fun!
She turned her attention toward the fan in Mengyao’s hand. Her head cocked to the side as she stepped toward him until she was close enough to touch the fan. Jay didn’t even ask for permission as she ran her hand over the tips of the feathers. “I like your feathers. They’re fluffy.” Lips curled into a smile as she stretched out her own wings and then turned around to search for more supplies. Her face lit up when she discovered a dead tree. She looked inside and yelled excitedly, “Cool! It’s hollow!” Jay leaned her shoulder against the tree and pushed it over. She hummed softly and sat on it while she tried to figure out how she was going to carry this thing back to the reserve.

Nergui's expression tightened as she continued to listen to the two horsemen around her, and she had to school her features before looking up from arranging the gathered materials in her arms. The Conquest male was as she'd expected. Prim and proper, and much to high on himself to bother with dirtying his hands more then he had to. The war girl, Jay, though more tolerable, was repetitive and highly energetic. Neither sorts the priestess of death would normally chose to associate with, but at the current time she didn't really have much of a choice. At the request to shorten her name, the dark skinned woman stiffened. "I would kindly ask you not to," she answered almost immediately. Saved from having to say more by the war girl's attention shifting towards Mengyao's fan, then the fallen carcass of a dead tree. She waited until Jay had settled a bit, then offered them both a tight smile. "A pleasure to meet you." Eye contact was maintained for a second or two longer out of politeness, but she quickly resumed her foraging, gathering up a bunch of fresh pine needles to add to what she already had.
