After speaking to Candace, Molly had taken some time to herself (as much as one could in the underground base) to just…grieve. She realized that after her sister had passed, that she had never taken the time to just mourn the loss. This meant a lot of time trying to be alone and to not be a bother on anyone else. A great place where she was left alone for the most part? The Canon Cat Room. Sure they dive bombed her still…but they were just really friendly! She had a feeling she wasn’t going to feel good about this anytime soon…and that was…okay, but now…now she also felt like she needed to talk to Bix about this.

She only felt like it was fair…before…something…happened…maybe. Regardless, there was just a strong urge to let him know what was going on with her…incase he…oh…she didn’t know. She just wanted him to know…incase he changed his mind. He needed to know.

Thus Molly was lingering at the entrance, huddled against a cave wall with her back to everyone as she pulled out her phone and sent out a text…or series of texts.

Text to Bix
Hi there. If you’re not busy and wouldn’t mind, I’d like to talk to you, if that’s alright?

She sent that…and then panicked as she realized that may sound rather ominous.

Text to Bix
It’s not bad I promise!

She sent that off, and then realized that that may not necessarily be true either.

Text to Bix
I mean, it’s not a happy topic. It’s sad, and maybe that’s bad?

Sent.

Text to Bix
If you don’t want to hear it, that’s perfectly fine, I understand! Sad topics aren’t fun, but I really wanted to talk to you, but if you’re not up for it, that’s OKAY!

Sent. Molly was biting her lip as she sniffled.

Text to Bix
If you do though, I’m at the entrance! If you don’t I’ll just stay for a bit longer before leaving, no worries!

Goodness, this was a mess.

Text to Bix
I’m really sorry. I’m really sorry I’m spamming your phone too.

Molly sent that last one off and pressed her phone against her chest as she huddled against the wall more, wiping a teary eye with a sleeve. Gosh, she felt really dumb.

As Molly hit send on the last message, biting her lip in nervous anticipation, she'd hear a buzzing and beep. Right. Behind. Her.

Bix was there, following her. Creeping. STALKING HER ALWAYS.

Bix had been napping, err meditating, in Killzone's room when he felt the buzzing and the Imperial March rang out softly from his pocket. He quickly hit the button as he got glares from more serious 'meditators' (mostly just Killzone). Just as he was about to check it, another buzz and ring. He panicked, mashing the button as text after text came to him. The albino hunter hurried to his feet, tripping over a beanbag and landing on another beanbag occupied by a slender, twitchy looking hunter.

Bix panicked further and ran from the room.

He didn't mind the messages once he found out it was Molly. And since he was fleeing the room, it only made sense to come meet her.

Lucyal
I seriously just fell on a guy in Killzone's room. omw.

Her phone vibrated, and Molly nearly fumbled it as she looked at her text. There was a relief to see it was Bix, and then a concern as he seemed to have fallen on someone? Was that her fault? Oh dear…

Molly tucked her phone into a pocket, and then started to vigorously rub her eyes with her sleeves. Maybe she could stop from tearing up during her talk with Bix. Maybe.

Bix found his way to the tunnel and found the very obvious white back of Molly. She seemed to be huddled in a corner of the cave entrance, which he found a little strange, but after the Insanity had left and he really absorbed that he'd asked her out, he felt a flush on his cheeks and that tight-stomached nervousness that always happened when you liked someone and it was new.

"Molly?" He remembered her texts, almost forgotten after his falling incident. She wanted to talk about something sad. "Are you okay?"

At the sound of her name, the young woman startled, and ran her sleeve across her eyes once more before she spun around. While she may have been able to dry her face for now, it didn’t hide how red and puffy her eyes were, but that couldn’t be helped. She was a leaky faucet after all, but it was so nice to see him now, and she greeted him with a smile regardless.

Hi Bix! Thank you so much for coming…I…um…” She paused. “…I…I’m okay! I think…I mean…I will be? Uh…” She rubbed her cheek. “…I think I am. Um…if you don’t mind…I wanted to go down to the beach…?” For a bit of privacy. Monsters didn’t seem too bad there, either, but only in the buildings it seemed.

"No I don't mind.." He smiled a bit but you could tell he was worried at Molly's obvious 'i was just crying' look. "Is everything okay?" He waited a moment for her to get herself together and start onto the path and he dutifully followed beside.

You sssshould give her your arm. Like a gentlemonsssster.
I assume you mean gentleman. Why are you helping me now?
I am feeling generoussss and you need all the help you can get. Mina sounded dismissive but he was amused she'd decied to help anyway.

Bix did follow her advice though and he awkwardly offered Molly his arm. Trying to be smooth and not make a big deal of it.

“…Y…yes…it is…um…it will be…it is…I think…” Molly headed out of the base with Bix at her side, veering off and down a path that would take them to one of the beaches.

Molly was quiet this time as they walked, going over how she wanted to word things in her head until she felt something brush her arm. She blinked and looked over, seeing Bix holding out his arm. The young woman glanced up at her, brushing over the way her stomach fluttered a bit at the gesture, or the way she tentatively reached up with one hand to rest it gently in the crook of his arm. “Th-thank you…” She murmured, looking down at the path, and then further down where the beach was coming into sight.

Bix tightened his arm a bit on her hand when they got to the beach. It was very misty, with the Insanity a little bit more so, and he kept his eyes out as best he could for any monsters but so far it was nothing but silence and the ocean coming in. Somehow the fog stifled the noise with it's thickness but the seabreeze was gentle enough that they could see.

Acknowledging the coast being clear he lessened his clench a bit. He hadn't even really noticed he'd done it. Was he still edgy or had Deus done this to him? Put the edge into him permanently?

There was a rock jetty not far ahead ant it stretched up away from the shore. Bix steered them there so they could sit.

"So.. is everything alright?" Bix looked to Molly in her obvious distress. "You look like you were crying... and, well, that makes me worried."

Molly probably wasn’t as aware of her surroundings as she needed to be, caught up in how she was going to word this still.

Bix’s loosening hold on her hand, and the fact they were slowing brought her out of her thoughts, as did the sound of the waves lapping the land. Oh…Molly looked around, and she squeezed Bix’s arm briefly before letting it go, and moved to sit on a large, flat rock. Plenty of space for the albino hunter to sit next to her, and she offered him a tentative smile. “…Y…yeah…I um…” She paused, starting to feel a bit anxious before she took a deep breath. “…Yes, I have um…a lot…” She laughed nervously. “…But that’s just because I’m…grieving…it’s okay…”

She took a deep breath, and stared out into the water for a long moment before looking back at Bix. “…Thank you for coming once again…I…I really, really appreciate it…I…I feel like…you need to know…what I’m about to talk to you about...if you're ready...?…”
PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 9:17 pm

Grieving? That had not at all been what he'd expecting, though in retrospect it should be obvious. He of course just assumed it was for all the hunters they had lost, Julie and others who had died. He still heard people getting upset. It hits people at different times, death, and everyone eventually has a break down over it.

"Ready? I mean.. You can talk to me about anything you want Molly. I'll listen to you." He did mean it of course, but he really couldn't way no to her when she looked so sad and determined. He knew she was shy so texting him for whatever this was about had to be important to her.

He moved and sat on the rock, scooting up to sit beside her and stretch his legs out.

Molly smiled a bit over at the Sun Hunter, threatening to tear up again already. Oh it was a hopeless battle to fight, really. As Bix stretched out, Molly pulled her knees up, wrapping her arms around them as her gaze slowly drifted back out to the water.

She was silent for a moment, taking another quiet breath before she started, speaking softly. “Her name was Brighid, but we all called her Bree for short, and she was ten years old when she passed away.” Molly paused, her brows furrowing. Gosh, talking with Candace really, really helped to clear her mind from the jumbled mess it had been, and even though she rehearsed this talk she was having with Bix a lot, it didn’t make talking about it any easier. “Our parents passed away in a train accident when I was around seventeen, and it was up to me to take care of her. I had to get a lot of jobs just to get us by, and I worked from sun up to sun down almost every day for years, because that was what needed to be done...even if I couldn’t stay on top of all the bills. Bree had a weak heart, and I’m sure you know how expensive medical things get…”

Oh dear, she was tearing up already.

I couldn’t afford a baby sitter, so I left her home alone a lot…I…I think I did what I thought was right at the time.” Candace said she did all she could. “…But that was my mistake…” Here Molly paused, and brought a finger up to her lips as she closed her eyes. Yup, crying already, she knew she couldn’t hold them off for too long. She gave the albino a small, awkward smile. “I’m really sorry; I’m a leaky faucet…”

She still had a bit more to go.

"It's alright." Bix didn't say anything because she didn't seem to be finished and also because it seemed like she just needed to talk. His input was unnecessary right now. Of course he hated seeing her crying and upset and so he slid out of his coat and draped it over her curled up legs like a blanket. "You can wipe your nose on it if you want. I don't mind."

As further reassurance he slowly, sort of awkwardly, put his arm around her shoulders.

Molly closed her eyes again, reaching up to wipe at her eyes with her sleeve when she felt something warm drape over her lap. She opened her eyes, and even blurred, the Sun emblem stood out clear as day. Oh geeze. She may have cried a bit more at that kind gesture, and shook her head a bit. “O-oh goodness, no, I wouldn’t want to mess up your coat…th-thank you…” A hand reached out to grasp into the hood of his coat, just holding onto the material for a source of comfort. Molly stiffened for a moment as she felt his arm around her shoulders before she relaxed. Gosh…she still didn’t feel like she deserved this kind of comfort.

The Misty rubbed her eyes again, though just gave up on the front of trying not to cry. It was futile, really.

One day, like usual, I had to go…and that day she had begged me not to go. She pleaded and she begged because she had…been afraid of the shadows…but I couldn’t stay. I had to go or else we were going to get kicked out our apartment, and when I returned later that night…” Molly sighed, cupping her cheek. “She had screamed…and when I finally got to her the shadows were retreating…they had scared her to death, and she passed away in my arms.” The young woman covered her mouth with her hand, and shook a bit underneath Bix’s arm. She was quiet as she let that hang in the air. She still had a bit more she wanted to tell him. “…I loved her. I know I did.” Molly murmured, “…But I was angry too sometimes. I was angry that my parents had left us all alone, and angry at her. Angry that I couldn’t do anything for me because I had to care for her, but she was my sister, and I still loved her…nothing will change that, I know.” She wiped her eyes again. “…After she passed away, my life went by in a blur…and now I think…I’m pretty sure I’m grieving for her…you know…!” She paused, and looked over at him.

“…I think about, if I could go back in time…and…change things…um…it’s silly I know but…if I went back in time…I’d…turn her over to Child Services…like I probably should have…because she really could have gone to a better home. My family was just so…so adamant about staying together no matter what, so I felt…horrible for having thoughts like that…but now…now I would have done it…and then I would have joined Deus…because I’m…I’m really happy here…even though bad things happen and people pass away…I’m really happy to be here.”

Bix listened and just kept his arm securely around Molly's shoulders while she let it out. By the time she was done even he felt a little misty eyed. He'd lost his brother and he'd had some of the same guilty feelings. Not quite the same but he felt like he could have done something, anything, to prevent it or find him when he disappeared.

"It's okay, feeling like this." He shifted her a bit and then pulled her against him in a hug. It was genuine, not some ploy for the girl he liked. Anyone feeling this way deserved a good hug. He held her tightly and talked softly into her hair. "Everyone mourns in their own way and their own time. My mom said that everything happens for a reason. She believed in God of course.. she didn't believe in monsters or shadows but she believed in God.. go figure right?"

He released her from the hug and used his discarded coat to wipe her tears, something he seemed practiced at from years with a little sibling. "We all made mistakes and it's okay to acknowledge them and feel bad. We have a new start though... and now we can protect all those kids. Right?"

First Candace had told her it was alright, and now Bix was too.

Molly covered her mouth again, blinking with surprise as she was pulled into another comforting hug. It was welcomed, appreciated, and she wrapped her other arm around him in return as she listened, nodding her head a bit against him until he pulled back and started to wipe at her eyes. Once again, Molly paused, blinking with surprise. Woah…she had never been on the receiving end of this kind of attention before…she was usually the ‘older sibling’ role. Changes, they were happening.

She nodded her head a bit again. “…Ri-right.” She replied, trying to smile a bit before it fell. “…I’m here…for me…but I’m here for her too…I’m here to try and stop any other sibling from feeling what I did. Thank you, Bix.” She sniffled, taking another deep breath. “…But…I just wanted to tell you these things…um…where I am coming from, what happened…I felt…like you deserved to know…” Because of where they might be going, but also because he was her friend, who also had a younger sibling too. “Thank you for listening…I just wanted you to know…” Incase you change your mind too, after hearing was an unspoken worry, but she wouldn’t have blamed him.
