It was a lovely day, not too sunny but not too dark. The sky was just slightly overcast, meaning that Ali wouldn't have to worry about either getting a tan or getting soaked. She smiled. This was her type of weather.
Hitching her schoolbag up higher onto her shoulders, Ali continued quickly down the normal footpath that she took, keeping close to the shops so that she could see the bright colours and smell the scents of the things on sale. Very soon, her walk would be over and she'd arrive at home, but Ali so wanted to prolong the moment and enjoy the streets a little longer.
Eyes trained on the bakery, Ali didn't even realise when she bumped into the little blonde girl, until her schoolbag
thumped to the floor. Hurriedly retrieving her belongings, she quickly apologised, hoping the girl wouldn't be angry.
