Sienna strode into the stadium, the bright, white lights washing over her. She breathed deeply. Nothing to worry about. Even if they didn't win there would be other chances, and this was just further training for her and her team.
She scanned the field. Another plain concret field. At least there were no set disadvantages right away. "Hello?" Sienna called across the stadium. Was here opponent already here?

Shina strode calmly through the doors to the stadium and up to her trainer box. While she had been rather nervous at the start of her last battle, she felt strangely serene right now. This might be a gym battle, but it was still a battle, and she had plenty of experience with that. Her Pokemon were fully healed and ready to go. It was time to see who her opponent was.

"Hello!" Shina called back. "I am Shina Kiremono, and Annabell and I shall be your opponents today!" Pulling the correct pokeball of her waist, Shina released Annabell into the ring. The Furret would never forgive her if it didn't get to be part of the gym leader trials.  1100 HP

"Hey I remember you two! That was quite a battle. Don't think you'll be fighting Frey again though," Sienna laughed. Although Frey had the same amount of experience as the Furret, the bird keeper though she might try her luck with her psyduck. "This is Kipper!" She said, releasing her pokemon onto the stadium.  900/900 HP

"I remember! Well, let's have another great battle! Annabell, raise your attack with Charge Beam!" Shina called, getting down to business. Annabell laughed evilly as she absorbed energy from the air around her, lightning chasing itself over her fur.

"Alright then! Kipper use Rock Smash and knock down her defense," Sienna called.
The psyduck was serious business today; he sprinted at the Furret and smacked her with his wing, then retreated back to his side of the stadium.

Shina frowned slightly. No sense in wasting moves when the opponent would just counter it. "Annabell, Charge Beam! Offensive this time!" Annabell looked even more excited at this order than she had been at the last. She eagerly gathered energy, then sent it blasting across the stadium.

Kipper was knocked back by the shock, but it was still early in the game and he was still good to go.
Sienna pondered her options carefully. Lower their defense again, raise their own, or attack? Or...

"Drat!" Shina snarled. Down in the arena, Annabell's mental monologue was far more colorful. The frozen Furret tried to wiggle and break the ice, but had little luck.

The psyduck ran over to the frozen Furret, very wary of getting this close even though she was frozen. She looked maaaad! His foot glowed as he tapped the ice as lightly as he could; didn't want to free her!

Sienna tried to calculate if the Furret was going to get out of the ice soon or not. Were there a lot of cracks yet?
Kipper also stared at the frozen Furret nervously. She looked like she had a lot of wiggle room. He started to get as far away from her as he could, waddling in a frenzy. "No running away mister, try and freeze her again!"
Shaking, the psyduck fired another Blizzard away. Oh no he did not want her unfrozen!
