Crawling out of her den, from yet another restless night the poor lioness stretched, her resolve to crawl back inside and sleep only strengthened by the sun's bright rays. Groaning loudly, she kicked her paws into the dirt angrily, extremely ticked off that her lack of sleep was beginning to get to her. Her joints were achy, and she felt as though she could sleep for days. But then she knew that wasn't option anymore.

Rolling her eyes, the lioness stretched her paws out before her and lunged down in a long stretch. Her joints creaking and cracking in protest against her wake up call.

"Rise and shine guys ... time to face the day.."

The words were hardly audible as her tongue lolled lazily from her mouth in a huge yawn. With a look into the clouds, she could tell it would be another starless night and in the pit of her stomach she was miserable.

"Guess we won't be seeing our friends tonight either... Maybe I can get some sleep.."

User Image The rain was coming down faster now, much faster than it had hours before he started his daily run. Funny thing the weather. One minute it looks perfectly fine and then the next thing you know... your running for your life, blinking away stinging ice rain, and shivering because the water and rain have left you drenched. Shavar had no idea where his paws were leading him too but he hoped it was shelter or atleast somewhere it would be dry enough to warm up.

Putting one foot infront of the other, Shavar hopped from one stone to the next and oddly enough the closer he went to the left the more daylight he could see. "Weird." He sputtered out right before the earth opened up and swallowed him. While looking ahead of him he didn't register the rocks below his feet breaking which lead him now to his current position. Trying to stay a float. His last thought before smashing his head on to the rocks was, I don't want to die.

The crumbling of rocks somewhere in the distance took the female off guard. She might not be the best hunter, but she had some great ears! How else would she be able to hear the stars so well? Her joints automatically stiffened at the noise and instinctively she about faced into the direction from which the sound had occurred.

'What was that?'

She squeaked quickly, her ears focused for further sounds. But nothing else came to her ears, just the crumbling. Deep within her gut she felt off, as though that sound had meant something. She'd lived close to the shore all her life, and the rocks didn't just crumble .... unless someone put pressure on them!

Letting out a squeaky gasp, Nema snapped into action, her paws quickly swinging into action. Pushing the dirt beneath her feet in order to gain more speed. As she ran she thought of the cubs, the young ones of the pride who so easily were tempted by the dangers around them. For their sake she hoped one of them were not in danger.

'Whoa!

Dragging her feet to a fault, she know saw the extent of the damage. There had been something on these rocks, she could tell by the muddy pawprints leading up to it. Her heart sank as she watched small remaining rocks slip from the ledge and into the icy water below.

'Oh man, oh man what do I do?!

Oh right! Help! I need to help!

Pacing back and forth for a better view, Nema saw nothing that would help her in her aid.

"Please - if you're out there, I need only know where you are!" She yelped, her head hanging over the slippery cliff looking for any signs of life below.

Shavar came in and out of consciousness. He was aware yet not aware of what was happening around him. He knew that movement had ceased as he was now laying half on mud and half in water. Weakly Shavar tried to open his eyes and once he did he found it to blurry to focus properly. He should have listened to his instincts this morning, it didn't feel right coming this way. Oh well. What done is done I guess. He thought to himself muzzily while trying to stand but failing. Shavar shook his head... "Whoa, shouldn't of done that." He managed to croak out.

Frantically scanning the rocky shore below, Nema kept coming back with nothing. She was beginning to give up hope when she caught the color in the corner of her eye. At first she mistook it for fire, but with a better look she realized it must be the victim she had been searching for.

"Oh! Stay where you are! Help is on the way!"

Knowing the rocky cliffs like the back of her paw, it took the lioness no time to lightly leap from one rock to the next quickly making her way down the side and to the bright red feline at the bottom.

As she neared him, she heaved a slight sigh, he wasn't dead. One final burst of speed sent her right where she needed and she stood bravely over him. "Vive got yew." She managed to say through clenched teeth as she tugged at the male's neck. "DON'T VREAK OUT" Tugging with all her might she managed to pull the him as close to dry land as she could.

Finally she succeeded, and with a sigh of relief she released the male and cheered. "Ha! I didn't think i'd be able to do it, but I did!" She began to prance, doing a small victory dance, probably celebrating a bit early. "H-Hey! WAKE UP! YOU'RE SAFE!" She yelped, roughly nudging the male with her paw. "Come on, you're not funny... wake up...."

He was in and out of consciousness. Shavar swore he could hear an accented voice echoing in his mind but he was disorientated. Suddenly rough movement of his body made him start and groan pitfully. "'m up." He tried to blink the fuzzies away from his sight to focus on the voice talking to him. He pulled his ears back at the shouting female voice. Gray. He saw a gray figure beside him. "Ow." He spoke seriously and loopy. "' think I banged my head." He tried to stand but just couldn't find the energy at the moment. "Where'd I go?" He tried to focus and look at his surrounding. "So tired." He found his eyes closing against his will.

Nema's frantic emotions seemed to calm a bit as she noticed the male beginning to stir. So he wasn't dead - that was always a good sign. But, as he opened his mouth and tried to form sentences it was apparent he actually wasn't completely fine. Frowning she placed a paw gently on his back, and rubbed gently.

"Yeah, I-I think you did. Just lie still, it's best not to move with injuries like that." She paused, offering a weak smile to the male. "You're in the Kizingo'Zaa, best I can figure you were walking on the cliffs and ... they caved on you." Nema trailed off not really sure where to go with the conversation next, maybe giving him a break from the explanation would help?

NO! He was drifting off again - definitely a bad idea to stop talking. "H-Hey! D-Don't go to sleep on me. WAKE UP!" Again she lightly kicked him in the side, trying to get a rise from him. "Why don't you tell me a little about yourself? Are you hurt anywhere besides your head? What about your joints?"

The rubbing felt nice... kinda comforting. He wasn't usually the recepient of such actions being part of a group of rough and tumble males. He jerked awake once more at the shouted 'wakeup' before blinking up at the female. "Kizi'Zaa huh? Oh shi-" He blushed in embarrassment. "-shiver." He tried to cover up the obscenity before grunting in somewhat pain. " Sure feels like it caved on me. I..." He paused trying to clear his distorted mind.

"My head hurts a little," He croaked out. "Sorta foggy and my front paw is a little stiff but other than that... I was doing my training round and um decided to come thisss-" He hissed as he slowly sat up. "-way for a possible swim and change of scenery. I'm Shavar wish we could have met another way though." He chuckled weakily.

Nema merely giggled at his quick change in wording. "Nice save! But i've hard much worse as of late. Your words are safe with me." She giggled, sending the male a wink watching carefully as he pulled himself into a sitting position. "Oh yes, you took quite a fall. See..." She adjusted herself, raising her paw and head to the cliffs above, "You were up there, and now .. you're down here!" Smiling her strange, spacey smile she listened to the male's symptoms, hoping she could recognize at least a few.

"Well, you'll need to take it easy for a bit. No swimming! You might just fall asleep trying to do so." Shaking her head vigorously she went on. "This is a good place to go for a change of scenery though, just don't get too attached like I did! I'm Nema, and no worries on how we met. Perhaps this was how we were meant to meet, you should never question the ways of fate!" Her smile remained, though in her eyes you could see a somewhat stern look.

Shavar looked to where she was pointing. "Daaaang." He whispered in awe. "Yeah no swimming for sure." He said absentmindedly while looking around. "Oh I don't think I will seein' as I already have a home with the other cheetahs. That's a nice name Nema-" He blinked as she went from spacey to serious in the blink of an eye. "Sure" He spoke cautiously. " I believe in fate, it's how I came to be with my troupe. I should linger too long here-" He looked around wearily. "I've never been too far from my home-NOT that it has anything to do with you per-say I just am not on familiar ground and I ...hurt. " He winced at the whine coming out of his voice.

Swaying a moment as he stood he thought bowing would make him fall so he settled for the best grin he could manage. "I think I should head out Nema--heck who knows maybe next time we will met on better terms. Preferably me not almost killing myselt."

Nema simply smiled as Shavar hopped from conversation opener to another. He was a nice guy, or at least he seemed that way. Though perhaps not the most safety aware that she'd ever met.

"I hope the next we meet is on better circumstances." She smiled fondly, her tail swishing happily behind her."It was nice to meet you Shavar. Be careful around the cliffs, we don't need you falling when no one is around next time!" Oh! And good luck getting back to your troupe safely!

She stood, prepared to leave the male to his own devices. Nodding slightly in his direction before walking away.
