Kunai stood in the training facility, looking over the training space. It wasn't unusual for her to have her usual hat upon her head, though her reasoning for it these days was to hide the fact that her roots were starting to show. It wasn't life or death if someone saw, but she received less questions about it if she didn't let it be noticed.
At her ear was a device that seemed to be like a microphone a performer might use when giving a concert, though it was probably quite obvious that the short Elite had no intention on using such a device in such a manner. She tapped a button on the edge one time and uttered in a monotone manner "Skills test series. Test 1.0." Her finger tapped the button again.
Her green eyes glanced towards the subject for this test. It was a Mewtwo from the labs, though this one had blue accents instead of the default purple. As always, Kunai had done her homework before getting roped into the assignment. According to the test subject's file, she was a gentle creature and quite trusting. No history of violence, very obedient, and noted as a trustworthy Pokemon.
Knowing the Pokemon's history, Kunai was careful to maintain a more conversational tone than she usually allowed herself with Pokemon. It almost seemed to hold respect, though it was all false on the Elite's part. It was possible the Pokemon could already tell, since it was one of the more powerful psychic types out there.
"Pokemon... do you know why you are here today?" The Elite stood there, straight as a board and dwarfed by the feline-esque creature.

The air was so cold, critical, calculating, or rather that was just what seeped from the mind of the human she was currently with. So different from the way she had been treated as a youngster. It made her shiver a little, the end of her blue tail twitching slightly. She didn't like this person. It was easy to tell that she cared nothing about her at all, just her duty.
The Mewtwo turned her head to look at Elite Agent Kunai and gave a slow blink of her large blue eyes along with a nod, in answer to the question.
"My usefulness in the labs has been labeled as obsolete with the invention of new technology in mental manipulation. I am now undergoing an extensive evaluation to see if I can be reassigned elsewhere."
Naive and gentle she may be, but stupid she was not. With her enhanced psychic capabilities, there was little she didn't know in the labs. She heard the whisperings of everyone's thoughts as they passed by. It wasn't as if she was trying to eavesdrop, it was simply no different than if they had spoken aloud. She had no control over it.
By now she was mostly full grown, standing tall and well over Kunai's height. She had never before seen such a tiny human. If she had been younger, she would have wanted to play with her. But this human most certainly did not want to play.

Kunai had suspected that there would be little need to explain, and quite easily had received the necessary proof. If it were not for the purpose of this series of tests, she would have been more accustomed to merely thinking out the words she needed to communicate with this Mewtwo.
It was strangely aggravating for the Elite that this Pokemon was quite willing to communicate where as her own Pokemon, which was more than capable of such communications, remained silent.
"You are correct, Pokemon. I will be assessing the various skills which are suitable for a Mewtwo to have. There will be assessments upon power level as well as control."
With that, she reached into her side pouch and pulled out a single kunai knife. Rather than use it for the intended purpose of a weapon, the short girl tossed the metal object to the ground approximately 4 feet in front of her.
"To start the testing, please pick up my knife without physically picking it up." Kunai stood in wait, silently waiting to see what would happen. She had seen various psychic types in the past barely able to pick the objects up with Psychic, while others were too powerful and would completely destroy the metal object, making it crumble like paper.
When she seemed ready for the blue Mewtwo to start, she uttered the word "Begin."

She could sense Kunai's aggravation and her curiosity was piqued. This human had a Pokemon like her, but it did not speak to her. She very rarely saw other Mewtwos.
Eyes then followed the knife as it was dropped on the floor, then looked back up at Kunai as she spoke, before looking down at the knife again. She studied the little metal object for a moment, but when told to begin, she did as she was told.
The knife rose off the floor evenly and perfectly balanced, then simply hovered in mid air as the Mewtwo waited for further instructions.

It wasn't typical of Kunai to compliment a Pokemon, but since she was recording the results through her own headpiece, she simply uttered a word to signal that the task had been completed.
"Good."
She took out a second knife and held it out. While it was still in her hands, she gave the next direction. "I will throw this knife, and while still holding the first one up, I want you to catch the second one. The test begins the moment I throw my knife."
There was a pause, as if to make certain that the Pokemon couldn't anticipate when the Elite would act, but the Elite already knew such an effort would be in vain. Eventually, in a single fluid motion, the girl moved to throw the knife, not towards the Pokemon, but towards the nearest wall.
The new test had begun.

The Mewtwo nodded only once in understanding as the new task was given. She stood there, still holding the one knife in midair as she waited for the second to be thrown.
The weapon was thrown and it came to a halt, suspended in the air mere inches from where Kunai's hand had been. It remained where it was, while the first knife hadn't moved in the slightest.
Again she waited for the next command.

"Impressive."
Rather than remain in place, she moved closer to the second knife that had barely left her hand. She touched it, finding that it was quite solidly in the air. The Pokemon was breezing through the initial tests, which in all honesty was somewhat expected. Despite how seemingly simple the tests were, they were necessary for an accurate assessment.
With her favored hand, she grabbed onto the handle of the kunai knife. "Release the hold you have on the second knife while throwing the first knife at me." This was not an unusual request on Kunai's part to have a Pokemon attack her. Some might have been scared of taking on the powerful creatures that were Pokemon, but for Kunai it was something she did as a part of her job. There was no fear, just a simple need to do as told.
"...Begin..."

The Mewtwo blinked in surprise as this request, but the human seemed unconcerned, so she figured there was no need to worry. Again she did as she was told when asked to begin.
In the same instant both the second knife was released and the first one thrown at Kunai. The knife cutting through the air at a blazing speed with exact accuracy. It didn't move any higher or lower, just went straight on course towards the Elite Agent.

Once the knife at hand went slack, the Elite moved quickly. There had only been about 4 feet of clearance between her and the knife that was hurtling towards her. There was no hesitation on her part, and before she found a knife slicing into her, she heard the slight clink of metal against metal.
However, the Pokemon had more power to the throw than expected. Even with connecting knife against knife, the attacking weapon still pushed forward until it had sliced her cheek and zipped past her completely.
Though there was a faint tingle of pain thanks to the ends of the nerves in her face, there was no visible reaction, and only a vague notice of what happened within thought. A line of red easily carved itself against her skin.
"Task completed" the girl noted aloud. The pink-haired Elite then pulled a single purple ball from her belt, tapping the middle button before tossing it forward.
In a flash of light, soon enough a bright green accented Mewtwo was standing in place next to the small human. It wore an eyepiece and stood there almost ominously, tail lashing behind it. One thing that perhaps the other Pokemon would notice right off the bat is that this new Pokemon seemed extremely guarded with its own thoughts, actively trying to block any attempts to slip into the cracks.
For the benefit of the test, the Elite stated aloud quite bluntly "Prototype2 will be assisting in the tests from this point forward. The test subject has already surpassed expectations and it would be dangerous for me to continue unaided." It was rare for Kunai to acknowledge her Pokemon by its given nickname, but it was for the sake of the test.
A pair of bright green eyes turned to look at what seemed like a blue reflection of itself. All it did was continue to lash its tail behind it, almost in a curious manner.

The Mewtwo's eyes widened a little as the knife cut through the skin on Kunai's face. She... she hadn't meant to do that. Apparently she didn't know her own strength. The human didn't seem to be upset by it, but still... the Pokemon felt she had to say something.
"I... I'm sorry."
But Kunai just continued with business.
Now things would be different as the human introduced her to another Pokemon of her same species. The unnamed Mewtwo looked at P2 with great interest, her tail swaying in slow, broad strokes.
She attempted to reach out to him, but could feel how guarded he was.
Hi. She greeted him meekly in a fashion that only they could hear. Won't you talk to me?
The blue one had nothing to hide and her mind was completely open, unlike the one standing before her. She could possibly force her way in, but she did not want to.

The pair of green eyes continued to look at the blue Mewtwo, eyes locking with hers. He had obviously heard her calls, and he was able to tell that her words had been only for him to hear. Yet, there was nothing he offered in return aside from his momentary attention.
The human in the room easily noticed the eye contact, and knowing the abilities of the Pokemon, it took maybe half a second to realize what was going on. She didn't say anything, but she thought about how useless the attempts to communicate with Prototype2 would be.
Without a word, she began to pull out practically every kunai knife from her side pouch and seemed to carelessly toss it out towards her own Pokemon. The green mewtwo didn't even shift his gaze as he managed to easily catch each one in the air. Once she seemed emptied out of her weaponry, she sprinted towards the wall which her final kunai knife that had cut her had lodged itself into the wall. With a harsh yank, it was freed from its spot, and soon enough the girl threw it with excellent precision towards the back of her own Pokemon's head.
Without even blinking, the Mewtwo managed to catch the Kunai knife approximately 2 inches from the tube in the back of his neck.
From her spot against the wall, the Elite gave out the next set of instructions aloud. "Prototype2 will be throwing these knives at you from different angles with different timing." As she stated such, the floating kunai knives began to fan out and spread, soon enough encircling the blue Mewtwo.
"I do not want you to force the weapons to remain stationary. I want you to let it throw the knives at you. Your task is to defend yourself in what manner you see fit after the knives are thrown at you." There was very little pause from the Elite when it came to checking for understanding from the test subject. She barely even had to say "Commence with the test" before her own Pokemon obediently did as it was told.
Prototype2 threw the weapons quickly and precisely towards the test subject, sometimes shooting off only one, sometimes shooting off multiples from different sides at her. Despite how he seemed to be focusing on the task on hand, his eyes still remained upon the newer cloned creation.

The blue one was disappointed when the green one refused to say anything. Did he not want to talk to her... or perhaps was he unable to? Maybe that was it. Maybe he just couldn't. But then she noticed Kunai's annoyance at the fact that "P2" never spoke to her like she did.
Your name is Prototype 2? ... I don't have a name.
She's been given little pet names here and there, but other than that... she had no official designation. Now she was growing more curious as she was unable to blatantly read the other Mewtwo's thoughts. She had never encountered one so guarded, and she gently prodded at his mental barries. That is until Kunai's instructions were received.
She watched in silence as the other acquired the knives, then began throwing. When P2 would throw one knife, she would dodge, but upon several being thrown, she would quickly lift her arm and raise a Barrier to deflect them.

Where many creatures would have nodded to acknowledge that they had heard what had been asked, the green Mewtwo did not. Even a nod was a form of communicating, since the motion did have a word associated to it. However, the elder of the pair did tilt his head in a curious manner at the fact she had shared with him. He still did not ease up on his defense of his own mind. This one did not need to know his view of the world.
From her spot, the Elite easily was able to observe the movements of the test subject. She seemed absolutely unconcerned about the weaponry flying through the air. Most did not land even remotely near her, but her own Pokemon was well trained from years of working with her. A couple stray knives did manage to fly all the way back to her, but soon enough were caught by a glowing blue energy controlled by Prototype2.
"Test subject is adeptly agile, able to dodge smaller attacks by normal means. Larger attacks, the test subject uses Barrier to defend itself."
With a clean cut wave of the hand, the knives stopped flying in the air. The green Mewtwo soon enough began to collect the various knives which had been thrown. Almost like good little knives, they began to start moving back to the Elite, who held the flap to her own side pouch open so they could find their way back home. The short girl walked forward as the knives continued to return back to her until she was between both Mewtwos.
"...Test subject... do you know Recover?" It was a very direct question, and something that should have been in the files. However, there had been not mention of it at all, so the question was now up to the Pokemon to answer.

Now that, that was over, the Mewtwo's attention went back to the other and the fact that he was silent and resistant. What was he hiding? This only made her all the more curious and she tried to pry further. Nobody had ever resisted her like this before, so why would this one start now.
Why won't you speak to me?
She wanted to know... she wanted to know what he knew. What he was hiding and why. The blue one felt like she needed to. That she was possibly missing out on something important.
Kunai's question redirected her attention momentarily, and she shook her head. "No." Her attention then went back to P2.

Prototype2 was not ignorant to the blue one's plight. She was an open book in comparison to him. He could hear her questions, he could feel her prods against his mind, and he could feel the emotions she seemed to exude. His tail, which had been lofted up high, now swept low, practically touching the ground, swaying back and forth.
Her curiosity concerned him, though he still continued to guard himself, offering no words, not even a hint of emotion. Just silence and a lowered movement of his tail.
The test subject's response did not receive a verbal acknowledgment, but within thought, Kunai couldn't hide a stray thought.
That is unfortunate, it will make an upcoming test more difficult for it.
However, her piercing green eyes noticed how distracted the test subject had become. "...Prototype2 is not responding, correct?" Her tone seemed absolutely unconcerned, merely factual. Instead of making a polite request, the Elite stated in an expectant manner "Keep your attention on the tasks you are assigned."
With that reminder, the shortest one in the room took a few steps back.
"...Test subject, for the next test, I will be physically attacking you. I will not be using any weapons, but you are not permitted to defend yourself with your psychic abilities. You are permitted to physically attack me if you should desire, but you are not to use any psychic attacks." The girl, true to her word, started to remove her weaponry from her person, setting it on the ground. In preparation, she rolled up her baggy pants so they would not get in the way, and her hat was removed from her head, easily showing off slightly more magenta-colored hair towards the roots of her pink hair.
"Do I make myself clear?"
