It was a brilliantly warm, sunny spring day in Cyrus, and the city was appropriately bustling. Nowhere quite so much as in the main shopping district, where the recent stretch of fine weather had finally prompted most of the street-side stalls to set up for business, and the streets were crowded with shoppers and loiterers alike.

Unfortunately, all the hustle and bustle also kept most of the stall merchants busy- too busy to notice a kid trying to get their attention from the canal bordering the street. Jiang-Chen let a scowl cross his face as he leaned on the edge of the waterway, tapping his claws against the cobblestones impatiently. All he wanted was a snack, was that really so difficult? He started to look around- if he got lucky, maybe he'd be able to ask a passer-by to go poke one of the food vendors for him.
