The discovery that some of the rations had hot chocolate was of great and enormous importance to Rep, and as such, he'd gathered up what ones he could steal and squirrelled them away. The shared bunk was probably turning into some sort of treasure trove of sugar and adorable unicorns. He hoped no one objected. At the moment though, he was currently in a more relaxed mood than he had been, nursing a mug of the stuff and its questionable marshmallows, staring at the far wall. It was still ******** hard to tune out other people, he still craved privacy, but he was on more of an upswing.

He was completely ignorant of the funny looks some people passing by were giving him for his choice to forgo the usual coveralls in favour of the clothes he'd borrowed from Harrison, a cacophony of tie dye and neon. He wasn't really aware there was anything up with it, as far as he was concerned it looked totally good on him, after all, he liked having lots of things. And in this outfit he had like.. all the colours. That had to be good.

Candace was making an effort to take better care of herself than she had the past few days. So after making sure no leaders were going to interrupt her, no ******** monsters were going to blow up their temporary home, and being sure there were no disturbances she settled down and prepared herself an MRE and a cup of coffee. She was glad to be in her own clothes; a cargo-style coat that cut off just under her bust, a white tank top and pink shorts. Candace was disappointed to find the only hunter coat she had left was her basic trainee coat.

She refused to wear it in public. She was not a beginning trainee, she was an intermediate working on being a Hunter. Steps forward, not steps back.

She was enjoying some ravioli when she spotted it. It looked like a unicorn had vomited on a person and said person just hadn't showered. Candace knew only one person who dressed that way.

Harrison. Harrison who had the worst closet on the island.

Harrison never wore the clothes she bought for him. It disappointed her.

Nevertheless, Candace looked up with a bit of cheer to greet her best friend until she really saw who was wearing it.

What the hell?

"...William?" She blinked. "Why are you wearing Harrison's god awful clothes? You couldn't have picked the better things I got him? Or your own?"

Why those clothes?

"You look like Killer threw up on you."

Classy.

Rep paused mid-sip of his hot chocolate as a familiar voice interrupted his gentle thoughts of nothing but sugar. An expression of bafflement hardened into irritability as he narrowed his eyes at her, finally lowering the mug.

"What makes you think these are Harrison's?" he wasn't giving away anything to the person he'd marked down as a mortal enemy.

What made him think--what? Seriously? Candace raised a brow, eating another piece of ravioli. How to answer..

"Because I've seen inside his closet. I tried to hook him up with Julie in December for a date." The whispers returned when she thought about Julie and she shook her head. "Also, I would like to think I know how my best friend dresses. The answer is terrible. Did he not even keep the--bah, I'll ask him later." She pouted as she ate another piece of ravioli.

Candace watched Rep for a few quiet moments before piping up again, smiling. "...You look very comfortable in his clothes~." But that was all she said on that.

It was news to Rep that Candace had more than fleeting interaction with Harrison and he had to raise a brow at the fact she knew him well enough to have been in his closet, buying him clothes, setting him up on dates. Well, a fair mistake he supposed, he'd made the same mistake himself, but apparently manly wasn't everything. "Best friend? I had no ******** idea." Harrison clearly had terrible taste in friends. Himself included in that.

He took another sip of his drink. "I needed clothes that fitted, my dorm's a long way away from Jerry's and his and he offered. I don't see anything wrong with them anyway, clothes are clothes."

Rep's hand clenched a little more firmly on the handle of his mug as Tracey was reminded, despite the fact they were on better terms, there were some times when he needed to shut the ******** up.

"Why, you got something that'll fit me better?" he smirked toothily. "Cause I ********' doubt it."

Ah, that made sense. But still..those? "More power to you, I suppose~. For a gay guy Harrison dresses terribly." Candace made a disappointed face and shook her head, finishing her ravioli and pushing the tray aside for now.

At his question Candace looked to the man with a raised brow, looking him up and down to inspect what she could see.

"...Your a** isn't fine enough to fit into my shorts. Sorry to disappoint." She replied calmly, picking up her coffee and taking a sip. Ugh, it was awful. She would kill for a Starbucks right about now. "Glad to see you two are past fighting like teenagers over a boy." She shrugged. No one had told her, she just assumed. She'd told Harrison the same thing, after all; she preferred Jordan over Rep, and it was nice to see she wasn't the only one with relationship issues at the time.

He still very very much had all his barriers up around her, and he didn't even have the energy at the moment to go on his usual offensive tirade. The result was he actually seemed to be listening intently to what she had to say.

At the comment on his a**, he did raise a brow and felt slighted, there was nothing ******** wrong with his a**...he hoped. He retorted coolly "Not fat enough you mean." But at the same time it wasn't quite as barbed or vicious as his snipes normally were.

The comment about them fighting over a boy though was terribly timed to coincide with him taking a drink and resulted in him almost choking on his hot chocolate. "Over a what?!" the relaxed demeanour collapsed like a house of cards in a hurricane and right away he was on the proper defensive all over again, slamming the mug down on the table. "Listen I don't know what the ******** you think you know here, but you've ******** picked up the wrong end of the stick. I'm not a ******** homo."

"Can't a guy ******** borrow some clothes around here without being lumped into the ******** queer category?" The reflexive denial came so easy to him, and felt so much better than the potential awkward of agreeing the way things were now.

PostPosted: Sun Apr 29, 2012 2:33 pm

Candace chuckled and wagged a finger at him. "Ohhh, nono. There's fat and then there's fine. A fat a** has no shape, it bounces in all the wrong ways. It's ugly. A fine a** is the complete opposite. Like mine." Oh, Candace. Ever so modest. She liked not having to be nice around Rep. It was somewhat refreshing. Though when he choked on his drink she laughed and leaned comfortably against the table.

"A boy. I'm not blind, or deaf. And I'm not stupid. I also talked to Harrison after that whole fiasco in the Sahara." She raised a brow, watching him get on the defensive. The lady doth protest too much. Candace said nothing at first, simply watching him while drinking her coffee. Oh, Rep. So stupid. So much denial.

"One, shut up with the '******** homo' and '******** queer' stuff. It's insulting, especially if you're going to consider Harrison your friend." She narrowed her eyes. "I will kill you if you hurt him." Candace actually sounded very serious, perhaps because she was. Aria had explained a few..Mist duties to her, and even given her tips and permission. She didn't want to, but if she had to she would take advantage of it. "Two, there's nothing wrong with it. I was simply stating what I saw. If I'm wrong, you can tell me I'm wrong politely like a goddamn adult." She seriously could not see what Harrison saw in this a*****e. He was ignorant, rude and irritating. But Candace refused to let him see her bothered. She refused to cave around him.

She was better than that. Better than him. He wasn't worth her anger.

Rep looked unconvinced. "I got a pretty clear view of that a** back in the Antarctic and the only thing I can say is its big. So if that's what passes as fine these days then I don't even ******** know any more." Ideals of feminine beauty went clear over his head, curves were strange things that needed to be ironed out with exercise.

Like a wild animal backed up against a wall he reacted the way he always did, with fight or flight. And he didn't do running away. "Oh so you talked to him did you. Amazing because back in the sahara that whole ******** argument in case you were ********. Was about me taking a ******** swipe at him in a battle and him not being pleased about it. So I'm not entirely ******** sure where you get your info but you might want to double check it." Another sip of what was left of the hot chocolate and a cold glare.

"And I can say whatever I ******** want to frankly. If I want to take digs at queers and women, then I damn ******** well will, you can make your silly little ******** death threats all you like Mandace. But I'm not some little ******** idiot you can just dispose of. If I want to fight Harrison." And oh how he did. " If I want to hurt him. Then I ******** will, and nothing you can say will stop me."

"But you want it clear. Here it is, crystal. I'm straight as a ******** arrow. "

PostPosted: Sun Apr 29, 2012 4:18 pm

"It's a good big. And apparently there is a lot you don't know." Like decent manners, but she left that unsaid for now.

While Rep was on the defensive, Candace simply sat there calmly tracing her finger over the rim of her coffee cup. She was infuriated by his behavior on the inside, but she had learned already that there was a time and place for everything, and that Rep wasn't worth her anger. He was just annoying as hell. "Ah, but I also talked to him about that as well. Still, what you two were doing prior to the mission was very similar to flirting." She chuckled and drank another sip of coffee. "Guess I was wrong. Like I said, if I'm wrong about something say it like an adult. Your own leader is very big on cooperation and companionship, one would think you'd respect his wishes." She shrugged, watching him with her brow raised. Silly little death threats? Mandace?

He had the maturity of a four-year-old.

She smiled when he claimed to be straight. "Understood. And for the record? The less you b***h about it, the more convincing you are. Now," Candace stood, stretching her arms high above her head with a sigh and stretching out her back. She couldn't wait to get back into a proper bed and stop using a cot. "as riveting as this little chat has been, I think I should go before my desire to punch you in the face becomes a reality." Candace said this as calmly as if she had just told him to have a Magical Day, a sweet smile on her face and everything.

As she walked past him she playfully ruffled his hair. "Don't get yourself killed before I can spar you again as an intermediate, okay? You ******** Suns are all too reckless. Be careful clearing out the surface."

"You aren't my ******** nakama, if that's what you are saying." He had a lot of respect for the Sun leader and his assistant. "Besides, I do respect his wishes, on hitting s**t really hard. Just not on loving everyone of every ******** division"

He snorted. "And pre-mission, it wasn't ******** flirting, Ace just drives me up the wall. Verbal abuse and flirting are actually different, in case you didn't notice." he shrugged.

"I don't b***h about it to be convincing either. I just make my feelings on faggotry very ******** acutely clear and often. Which it seems I need to do it even more now since people are getting the wrong ******** idea about me. Clearly I'm not being ******** clear enough" he took an irritable swig of the drink

At the comment on punching him he smirked. "Punch me if you ******** want, you'd be the second person to do that then since I got to this bunker. I have so many ******** friends. " He chuckled darkly but there was no humour in his smile and he proceeded to look entirely grim at her advice not to get killed. The words were nice but he got the feeling she'd told him to go die instead.

He utterly bristled at the contact, waving her away. He couldn't trust her, couldn't trust her at all, maybe because she was so unreadable to him, she spoke a foreign language of body language, of tone and intent, and it set him on edge.

"Pfft. Maybe next time you won't resort to kicking me in the balls."

PostPosted: Sun Apr 29, 2012 7:12 pm

Aw, cute. He even had a pet name for Harrison. She smirked but said nothing, letting him rant. This was adorable. She didn't want Harrison mad at her but...oh, Rep. You make it far too easy to rile you up. She was having fun again, enjoying seeing Rep flustered and annoyed. It brought a bit of life into an otherwise dull and depressing place. Everyone was depressed, down on themselves, and tired...but here was Rep being the usual a*****e and letting her piss him off. One would think he would have learned by now to calm down around her, to not let her get into his head.

But he still continued to never fail her. It actually made her somewhat happy how he would always, without a doubt, get so angry at her with her barely lifting a finger. It was a delight. Candace didn't want to admit she was rather grateful to him for this behavior he refused to let go of.

He waved her away and she grinned. "Perhaps I won't. I'd advise wearing a cup anyway, just in case." Candace sighed, rubbing the back of her neck and looking down at him.

"..Thank you, William." She refused to say why, she would probably never explain what he had done to get her to genuinely thank him, but what mattered to her was that she'd done it.

She moved again, draping her arms over the man's shoulders and whispering beside his ear. "And remember, there are no walls in this place. But by all means, keep claiming you're a 'homophobic f*****t hating heterosexual' while sharing a cot with my best friend." She pressed a quick kiss against his cheek and quickly moved off the man before he could reach out and hit her, waving a hand as she walked away. "Ta ta~." She said all too cheerfully, humming a song that sounded like 'somewhere over the rainbow' as she left.

He shuddered as she left, physical contact always a severe issue with him at the best of times, fighting the urge to get up and attack her even as she left for invading that very staunchly guarded little bubble of personal space he maintained. He might have if her words hadn't really hit ******** people had noticed. They'd noticed. They had noticed.

A very raw deep seated sort of panic seized him as he realised this. He eyed his empty mug with a frown, even chocolate had forsaken him in his hour of need.

He rubbed his temples. He didn't ******** know what to do.
