He's been a rogue for a significant period of his life, but there were a few things that kept him tethered to particular locations. While there were many things that were hidden from the world, one of the best kept secrets was that he had links to this particular region. He hadn't been drawn to it quite the same way as others would but he was aware of it and kept his tabs on it - thus, when news of tragedy and devastation had reached his ears it should have come at no surprise that he had headed towards the Bahari lands.

It hadn't taken him too long to get there as there were benefits to living a short (but reasonable) distance away and no sooner had he embarked on his journey, that he arrived on familiar shores. Admittedly he wasn't the best at walking on the sand, but he was persistant and familiarity did enable him to adapt relatively quickly to the unusual terrain.

Padding silent along the shoreline, he took a few moments to observe his surroundings and noted that there was a staggering amount of damage to certain regions. The jungle had managed to recover in some respects, but the damage was still there and even the shoreline seemed to have shifted somewhat... It begged the question as to what in the world had happened and whether the gods were as enraged as it seemed.

He could have pondered all day if given the opportunity but his preference was to find answers from a reliable source. As it was, luck was with him... In the distance he could spot the tell tale signs of another being and it seemed to be a lion...

The waves that came and devastated her homeland still played in her head every day. A reminder that they had gotten too content with their lives and had ignored their mother sea for too long now. Sabbia's sea green coat made her easy to pick out on the sand. She was bringing an offering today, an offering of smoothed stones strung together on a piece of leather. She'd made it from materials the sea had given her and now returned it to her.

Sighing, she gave a tiny smile as she sat just outside of the waves, brows knitting. How could she ever have not paid attention to the sea? After her mother had left the lands, after her father as well, Sabbia knew the sea was all she had left. She'd been very greedy with the things it brought her. She hardly ever offered the sea anything in return. This is why Sabbia knew she had to make the trek down here, from her den, with something new every day.

She wasn't the only one to do this, either. The attitude in the pride shifted. Lions were still missing and misplaced. Some returned, others hadn't. She was worried about her sister, Feana. She'd been counted as missing after the tragedy that struck. Her own cubs and her other nieces and nephews made it, but she hadn't seen many of her own siblings.

Her tail thumped int he wet sand as she just watched the calm waves crash on the sand, touching her paws in a soothing sort of way. "I'm sorry..."

He padded closer to the female, his head lowered as he continued to maintain his balance on the ever shifting ground beneath him. Eventually he would grow accustomed to it again, but for the time being he was going to be clumsy. Still, while he wasn't keeping an immediate note on her whereabouts his ears did swivel in recognition of her apology and he glanced up once more when he realised he had bridged the distance between them. He was fortunate in one sense, and that was that he'd managed to maintain a sufficient distance... if there was one thing he hated, it was a lack of manners.

...That and a disregard for pridal traditions.

"I'm sure you are forgiven for whatever ails you," he murmured after a few moments and then furrowed his brow, "Although is it not fitting to apologise to the individual directly, rather than to the air?" he asked softly. He probably shouldn't have invaded her privacy in such a manner, but he just couldn't comprehend why so many did that - apologizing to the air was pointless when the words needed to be heard by the individual who had been wronged. This was how he had taught his daughter and it was how he would continue to teach or advise others too.

"Apologies for my interruption," he said after a few moments and cleared his throat. "Suffice to say it really isn't my business regardless of what you choose to do," he finished, conceding that he was perhaps in the wrong before she had the chance to point this out to him!
