Quote: 11-32: A small, semi-solid creature snatches at you with painful claws and teeth. HP: 5 Auto Damage: 2 (hit or miss) Ofelia wasn't going to talk about that wonderful adventure in the bathroom because she was pretty sure everyone who'd had the flowers and had to drink that stuff knew all about it. There was no need to go on and on, to tell people about it, and when everyone started to fan out in an effort to clean up the problems Ofelia felt like joining in.
She was well enough to walk, had little to no sleep in her, and was almost done hearing all the voices. It basically made it perfect for her to go out and try to take down a few of whatever it was out there on her own, Rue summoned as soon as Ofelia picked her destination.
"Ah'm thinkin. . . .trainin' grounds." Ofelia had liked the Shadow Run, it was something that made her feel good about herself and had allowed her to rack up a rather impressive tally of monsters without ever having to take a hit. If she helped got that area cleared out then maybe she could go and work out in there again? It might be fun to actually have someone come with her this time though off the top of her head the people she wanted to invite might not have been a good idea. . . .

She reached the training grounds without any problems, Ofelia's knuckles cracking themselves inside of Rue's form. The weapon was silent, she was either ignoring Ofelia's random chatting or else she was plotting, and for a bit the teen was nervous in the growing quiet. She'd liked the chatter of the paranoid voices in her head, it reminded her of the barn and her family, but Rue wasn't having it so Ofelia wasn't going to have it.
The end result was both of them standing in silence as something suddenly lunged out from the darkness, clawing at her leg as it passed. A quick swing from Rue found Ofelia's weapon connecting with the creature, scattering it just as quickly as it had formed. "Whelp, that was weird. Izzat one'a the things Ah'm supposed ta be killin'?"
Why are you asking me? Don't ask stupid questions, just punch things. You're generally useless for much else. Rue was grousing but she'd like that little bit of strange energy she'd tasted during the strike. Perhaps more was to come?

With one creature down Ofelia adjusted her weapon on her hands, scuffing the ground with the tip of her boot. She wanted her flip flops, they were back in her room, but she wasn't sure just how many of those things were left out there and if it was smart of her to venture that far on her own. She remembered the lectures before about sticking with people, apparently she didn't learn to well since she was out here alone again, but at least this time it looked as though everything was going to work out okay?
At least nothing had jumped out yet and the scratches she'd gotten from the first monster-thing were barely even stinging. Maybe somehow she'd managed to level up her pain tolerance?! That would have been the most amazing thing ever and Ofelia cackled with delight over that thought.
Rue, however, was busy paying attention because something or another didn't feel right. Something was coming, something was wrong.

Quote: 11-32: A small, semi-solid creature snatches at you with painful claws and teeth. HP: 5 Auto Damage: 2 (hit or miss) No sooner had Ofelia started complaining about there being nothing (she was doing this both aloud and in her mind) than the sound of something moving came again and it darted pass, a strange feeling following it in the air. It had missed her leg this time, she was lucky to dodge, and a view of the creature as it seemed to shift in and out of the air filled her gaze.
". . . Any idea what this is, other than sommin' Ah gotta beat down?" Rue gave a mental shrug of her shoulders and a simple verbal command that Ofelia needed to ask less questions and punch more things. Punch all the things, get Rue charged, and move along with her life. Such were the commands of the knuckleduster and Ofelia was somewhat thinking she was going to oblige.

. . . . .you missed. It's like less than three feet in front of you what the ******** hick. Get on your damn granny glasses and ********' try again. Rue was not pleased at all that Ofelia missed her target, the teen instead stumbling over something enroute to punching the creature. The end result was whatever the thing happened to be getting in another scratch or two at the back of her legs, her calves sure to be smarting tomorrow.
Stupid creature. Ofelia frowned and thought about throwing Rue at it, to see what would happen.

. . . . okay, you must really just be playing with me right now. You hit the first one super hard, now you're just skimming? Stop ******** around and kill the damn thing. Apparently she'd just gotten lucky that first time, startled into attacking so hard against the target. Maybe if she closed her eyes stuff would come easy again? Either way she was getting her legs torn up but teeth and claws and darn it she liked her legs not being torn up by teeth and claws.
Also wait what was that near her knee? Was that. . . a flower? No way. "Rue, Ah got a flower on mah knee!" That was amazing.
Good for you. Less being retarded, more kicking of the a**.

Ofelia never really liked waiting for things, she preferred to chase them down for herself, but when it came to a dark place with a creature she couldn't really see there wasn't much room for options. Instead of running around like an idiot she waited for the creature to strike again, ramming her weapon into it as a weak bite was delivered to her arm. "Whelp, dat makes two of 'em. Wonder how many more are in here that Ah gotta get cleared out." The teen made a mental note, marking it and wondering if when she reported back in would anyone say anything.
I don't think anyone is keeping count nor do I think anyone cares. Rue's voice was a purr as she lapped at the full charge, waiting for a chance to use it. She certainly wasn't going to let it go against any small fries, oh no, she wanted a larger fish that she could smack around without too much difficulty. Of course though seeing as they were in the Shadow Run room it was unknown just how many things were out there, both big and small.

"So ya remember this place? S'the Shadow Run an' thankfully it looks like everythin' is turned off." Ofelia tapped a finger to the side of her head, almost like she was poking Rue to get her attention. It was a moot point, the weapon was always watching and listening, the action however was by this point in time something of a habit. "Ah didn' know they controlled the waves somehow, Ah always f'gur'd it was like jus' sommin' that happened." She remembered her first couple of failures, chuckling at them.
Rue however did not chuckle. There was nothing to be proud of in how badly you failed those times. You just got lucky the rest of them, barely taking down small fry here and there. For all that you've managed to survive you're still utterly useless to me. Disgust was evident and Ofelia semi-shrugged it off. Why can't you be a decent hunter and just die already? I want someone a thousand times better than you and I can't get them if you just keep going.
Ouch.

Quote: 2-10: You find the body of a fallen hunter, their weapon tablet lies on the ground but crumbles as you reach for it. The pieces quickly shift and expand into a large, insane creature. It's form is not very solid, and more cloud-like than anything. HP: 50 Auto Damage: 5 (hit or miss) Extra: because of it's form, use a -8 modifier for accuracy! This does not count with charged attacks! . . . s**t. Ofelia hadn't expected to come across a body, at least not one out here like this, and she frowned deeply as she looked at the figure. It was no one she knew, their division jacket shredded to the point she couldn't even tell where they came from, and a nervous pit welled inside the teen's stomach. All she'd wanted to do was go and punch monsters, not come across dead bodies that had been there for who knows how long. "Um, le's jus' go an'-"
Wait.
"No, we're goin'." Ofelia turned but the voice hissed in her ear once more.
Bring the tablet with you. It's worth far more than the life of the hunter and than your life as well, so grab it and bring it along. Rue's interest in tablets was passing at best, she knew them only to be fellow weapons who were either waiting for a comrade or had chosen some form of death. Either way she assumed it would look good on Ofelia to bring one back to the main area upon finishing up her rounds; Rue wanted to look good, or at least have a hunter who was somewhat worth while.
"Rue." Her voice interrupted her thoughts, causing her to respond with a sharp snap. ". . . Um, Ah dun think Ah should'a touched it." Sure enough the tablet had changed into something horrible, something large, and something Rue was cackling about. Finally, a chance to hit something super hard.

Somehow the sun trainee knew this would end well, somehow she knew that in the end she was going to get torn apart while trying to clean up for other people. Rue was delighted, she got to be used against something large in the end, and Ofelia took a deep breath as she charged her weapons up for an attack. They struck against the creature and barely made a dent in it, resulting in the red-head understanding something after all.
She was in a bad place at a really bad time. There was a very, very high chance this person died fighting their own insane thingy and she just made it worse. Fuuuuuuuu -
At the very least she did manage to get a hit in? Hits wouldn't do her well though when she was dying on the ground in a puddle of her own blood.

It was hard to hit, it was hard to hit like <********' whoa. Ofelia had manage to dodge a few of its attacks as whatever the creature was came towards her, catching one against the same leg as before that the strange creatures earlier had been gnawing on. It bounced against her FEAR shield, a sicking hiss, and the sun trainee groaned as she noticed she was nearly down to half strength. As for this thing, how about it?
It was hard to tell, it wasn't like this was a video game where the boss suddenly had their HP above their head in numbers, or in a pretty bar that changed colors with each strike.
Speaking of colors and bars and bosses, she wondered how Justin was. An odd time to think of someone, but Ofelia found that thinking about someone else allowed her to get something of a decent hit in on the monster.

And then came the failwhale nature of her natural misses, the blow glancing off the monster completely and sending Ofelia soaring through it. A strong stinging bought of pain entered her body as she exited the beast, her hand moving to her chest to check her heartbeat after all that. Ofelia didn't know just how much more she could endure, if she could endure at all, and she was getting worried.
Did she have her telephone with her? Maybe she really outta call someone in a minute or two and see if they'd come and lend her a hand?
. . . . of course if she had done that before people would be here with her but they all had their own business and she didn't want to be rude so. . . .

The last attack had barely been an attack at all, seeing as it was Ofelia swinging her arm wildly to try and get a spider web out of her face. The end result was that same feeling from before, a few voices in her head this time for good measure, and Ofelia had to listen to Rue's chanting voice to know that she needed to keep trying, this wasn't going to end well otherwise.
Hopefully she'd keep hitting and would hit hard or else she wasn't going to be standing at the end of this.

It was coming for her again and Ofelia backed up, somehow trapping herself against the door that she came in. There was no glowing tunnel here, no older hunters watching. The only older hunter was the one whose body was cooling not even ten feet away from where she stood.
Ofelia's heart was in her stomach and her lips tasted of blood.

Ofelia's shield was down pass half-strength, down to almost a third if she felt correctly. She was shaking with nerves, not wanting to admit she was scared, and as the creature approached she stabbed the tips of Rue's blades in it only to be shocked backward by that feeling once more.
It was horrible, she felt sick, but inside her mind Rue was singing a merry tune about being ready to strike. Ofelia might not have had any more energy inside but at the very least her weapon was ready to go. The sun trainee could only hope she had enough strength to continue on afterwards and that the weapon would hit the monster hard.
