Job Role: Noble
Personality: Sly, secretive, confident, and more than a little arrogant, Mengyao is quite aware that he is a) good looking; b) intelligent, and; c) pretty much the best thing since sliced bread. Slightly narcissistic and vain, he prides himself on his altogether superior intelligence.
Which isn't really all that superior, he just likes to think so - and pretend so, even when he knows it's not true (maybe if he tells himself enough, it'll start to be true). The good thing about Mengyao is that he does keep his arrogance in check (most of the time) and only attempts to show off when there is a profit to gain because he's all about profit. He much prefers to do things when there is something he can get from it, and really doesn't like to get his hands dirty most of the time - both figuratively and literally speaking.
At least with Mengyao he knows when to step back and not say a word, rather than saying everything he thinks out loud (though sometimes he'll make comments just to be obnoxious). He much prefers to observe and learn things subtly than sweep in and take over the place - though really he wouldn't actually mind doing that - but he gains most of his knowledge from silently watching and storing the information away in his mind. And there is a part of him that can be kind - it's just not seen very often and even Mengyao doesn't really know how to be kinder. He's kind of awkward in that sense, since he does have things he wants to protect - he's just not that great at expressing himself, other than through his arrogance and sneaking around.
He is infected by the Insanity, so he tends to have a bit of an edge to everything he does. There are times when he tries to stamp down on it and push through it, but other times where he just lets himself go, which creates some unintentional mood swings.
Also sometimes he can be lazy. Especially when he has to get involved in things he doesn't feel has anything to do with him.
He's also like 6'5". And yes he carries that fan obnoxiously with him everywhere he goes.

Weapon Form: Yew Longbow
FEAR ATTACK: Healing Winds - When he draws an arrow like he normally would, instead of the FEAR going outwards towards the tip, it goes backwards, back into his fingertips and through his body to restore some of his energy (The Chill).

❀ The destruction of the Isles: This is one of those times where Mengyao really does not feel the same sort of antagonism towards the hunters as a lot of the others might. Though he does tend to keep any sort of difficult emotion (grief, frustration, etc.) in check, hidden away so that no one will see him and consider him "weak," (since he's all about appearances), in his mind it's over and done with. It happened, it's time to move on - though to what, even he isn't sure of. Mengyao, along with everyone else, lost family and friends, but he refuses to let his emotions on the subject show, instead putting everything behind him.
❀ On Amityville: Yes, he thinks he is definitely superior to them. No, he doesn't outright hate them either. Sometimes he kind of finds them amusing, the way an older brother might find an annoying sister entertaining - in that condescending, "oh-you're-so-cute" sorta way, but he also finds them rather interesting and considers them a sort of "subject" that he can study to gain more information.
❀ On Himself: He is a Noble, but he does not have the horns that signify the Imperial bloodline. This is somewhat embarrassing for him, all things considered, but Mengyao does not make a big deal out of it, nor does he seem particularly concerned about it - at least, not on the outside. Inwardly, he feels frustrated and angry about this slight, but that just makes him work harder to prove himself better.
❀ On the Former Clans:
Conquest: By far the most superior of the Clans. Mengyao was and still is very partial to the Conquest horsemen, whom he trusts far more than the rest. This isn't to say he still isn't a dipwad to them, but his arrogance is slightly lessened in the presence of those of Conquest.
War: Heathens. They focus too much of their efforts on fighting and battling rather than actually figuring out solutions to things. Mengyao finds them extremely distasteful and has never understood their lust for battle.
Death: Surprisingly, although he does not wish to be one of them, Mengyao respects their clan for their formality and strength - though he still doesn't really understand their culture all that much.
Famine: He wishes they would eat more. Also he thinks they're too much like birds of prey gathering victims, what with their alchemy and their focus on experiments.

Surviving Friends/Family
❀ Yuzhi - Mengyao isn't quite sure how they're related, other than they're some sort of distant cousin to each other. He tends to treat her like a little puppy, which only serves to annoy her greatly and thus fuels his desire to pester her further. Underneath it all, he does care for her, but the last thing he would do would be to admit that fact.
❀ Lan - childhood friend / rival. Mengyao respects her for her attention to detail and her determination for perfection, even if sometimes she's too girly and gets on his nerves. She'll come to him, they'll bicker and squabble like brother and sister, get mad at each other, don't talk for the rest of the day, and the next day are totally fine before the squabbling starts again and the whole cycle renews. Mengyao trusts her, in spite of everything.
❀ Lifen - childhood best friend and probably one of the only people Mengyao treats as an equal and talks to seriously. He likes to think he wows her with his amazing self, but really she's one of the only people he can talk to without any of his normal bravado, and he both respects and trusts her implicitly her for this.
❀ Invictus - second cousin (probably).
