He is certainly an interesting one, Mana couldn’t help but think, as she invisibly hovered after him. He was like those loud girls that lived near her; he had a human like body and Pokémon features. She couldn’t help but wonder what was causing this. Pokémon-human hybrids? It was so curious. Oh well, she wouldn’t worry about it, but she would see what this one was up to.

She had been following him, undetected, for some time actually. He certainly wasn’t as loud as those girls, but, then again, he had no one to talk to at the moment. He seemed rather mirthful and full of energy; she liked that. Maybe he would like to play? It could be fun, but she wasn’t about to pop out yet. No, not yet. At least she hadn’t planned on making her presence known. Fate, though, had other things in mind.

As she floated after him, the ribbon in her tail become caught in a bush, causing it to rustle rather loudly, at least it seemed loud to her. Not certain how to react and unsure if her cover had been blown, since he had been making plenty noise himself, the little Mew froze in place, waiting to see how or if he would react.

What do I do? What do I do? Mana frantically thought. This wasn’t the first humanoid pokemon that she had seen, but he was the first to notice her. The others had never even come close to noticing her; at least that is what she thought. Unfortunately, she never happened upon them interacting with a normal Pokémon. How would one react to her? How would he react? Still, it would be fun to play. Maybe if she looked like a humanoid Pokémon it would be alright? Not really giving her plan much more thought, she transformed… into the loud girl with the purple and green hair and the white skin. Mana thought she overheard her name as Lexi? Since he had just been looking about, she waited, hoping he would turn his head again, to give her a chance to break her invisibility undetected.

Oh no! Mana exclaimed, in her head, he knows her! How does her know her? No matter the answer, she couldn’t do this. It was one thing to take the shape of some random, unknown, Pokémon. Mimicking someone he knew was something altogether different. That was too… dishonest. If she really wanted to, she could probably try and fake the other girl, but that was something she would never do. Even though she was unsure how he would react to her, she would rather show her true form then pretend to be someone he actually knew. With a sigh, she replied, “Sorry, I’m not your friend. I… uh… I didn’t know you knew Alexis……” At that, she transformed into her Mew form. Looking up at him, she added, hope in her voice, “Do you still want to play?”

A sense of relief flooded over Mana. Not only did he not seem to mind that she had taken the form of someone else, but he seemed amazed that she could change forms. This was her first actual meeting with one of these humanoid Pokémon; it seemed to be going well! With a giggle, she replied, “Hello Yotta. Is that building in the mountains the Inner Strength Dojo?” She didn’t recall hearing the name of the place, while she had been there, but it seemed likely. Smiling, she added, “Well, I can change shape when I want to and, well, before, I was invisible! And yep, I live around here. My name is Mana.” Rolling over, in mid air, she looked up at the Yotta and asked, “So what games do you want to play? I don’t know many… but I am a quick learner!”

Smiling widely, Mana nodded and replied, “Yep, it’s my grove.” She had always thought of it as her grove, but was it named after her, or she after it? She wasn’t really 100% certain, but, either way, it was her grove. “I’ve been there once,” she answered. Motioning towards the ribbon, which was on her tail, she added, “I landed there when I found my ribbon. You wouldn’t have seen me though. I was invisible!”

“If we played hide and seek, I think it might be unfair,” she stated with a grin. “I had been following you for a while and you didn’t see me.” As if to emphasize her statement, she momentarily turned invisible and then reappeared. “It might be fun though.” She then added, with a questioning look on her face, “But um…” Pausing a moment, she spun in mid air so that her stomach was facing downward, and resting her chin on her hands, her elbows resting against thing air, she asked, “What is sparring? Is that the play fighting you do at the dojo? I saw someone doing that there.” Giggling, she righted herself, and her little hands punched at the air.

“Oh, you did?” Mana asked, “I didn’t know you were on to me! You must have very sensitive…um….senses….that sounds weird….” She then proceeded to crinkle her face, as if deep in thought. After a moment, she added, “Does that sound weird to you? Sensitive senses? Acute senses! That sounds much better! You must have acute senses!”

Rotating, so that she appeared to be seated in midair, she leaned forward and grabbed onto her feet, rocking side to side, she answered, “Well, I saw several Pokémon training and sparring. I saw a mean looking Blaziken…” At that, she transformed into Nix and, with exaggerated motions, pretending she waas sparring an invisible opponent. Her imitation of the Blazikens actions almost seemed more like a caricature. “Then there was a Breloom, she seemed nice” Mana then transformed from Blaziken to Breloom and sparred an invisible opponent again, this time the imitation seemed like less of a caricature. “And there was a Machamp!” She once again transformed and pretended to fight someone that wasn’t there. “And of course you were there as well!” She then transformed into Yotta and mimicked his moves.

Still in the form of Yotta, Mana couldn’t help but giggle at the Meowth’s exclamation of ‘WHOA.’ “Well I think I can turn into anything,” she answered, “though I haven’t tried them all. I’ve never tried transforming into a Wailord or Arceus… But I am sure I could! Once I transformed into a ditto, that was just weird….” Turning back into her normal form, the little Mew sat in midair, her legs sticking out, as if against a flat surface. “Nix, nil, nothing,” she proclaimed, with a giggle, “Maybe that is why she is so mean? She has something to prove! With a name like nothing, I’m not surprised!” Leaning back, she continued, “Goomba? That is a most unusual name! She seemed really nice.” Still leaning back, almost so that it looked like she was lying down in the air, she traced a 0, then a 1, and then another zero in the air. “Nix times Shelly equals Nix. That can’t be good. ”
