 Old habits die hard. Despite the bright, daytime sun, Setu was barely visible as he traveled. He was still an expert at keeping hidden in the natural foliage and terrain of the land, and he was getting a lot of practice learning how to navigate strange places as of late. Setu wasn't fond of his current wandering lifestyle, but what choice did he have? His home was no more, and there was no point lingering in one spot all alone for long. Still, he didn't exactly trust anyone enough to make their acquaintance. Any time he had seen others passing by, he would curl up in a hiding space until they left. Loneliness was beginning to consume him, no matter how hard he tried to ignore it, but he just couldn't bring himself to be social with strangers. It was time for a rest. Setu had been walking this way for so long, he wasn't even sure where he was, and weariness was starting to creep into his limbs. Finding a comfortable spot, he allowed himself to relax.

Since the disbanding of his home, Hayven had found a brand new life in a new world. The Pridelands were a lovely, safe place to raise a family. Something he and Koa had been dreaming of doing since they had fallen in love. He was happy he could give that to her.. Give her the cubs she dreamed of and the safety he knew they required.
Koa was busying herself with the cubs, and she indeed had her paws full with the little ones. He had been given a break, something he was incredibly thankful to his mate for. She truly knew how to treat him.
He was still close to the pridelands, though not still in the lands. He hadn't wanted to wander too far, but he wanted to wander far enough to not be.. home. He just wanted some time to himself. That didn't happen much anymore, not that he really wanted it all the time. This was one of those times, he just needed a relaxing walk.

Orange eyes scanned the horizon for signs of movement. It was pretty quiet, wherever this was, but Setu knew that it could change at any time. He was too suspicious and wary to let go completely, so even though his posture was relaxed, his eyes betrayed his true alertness.
If he hadn't been watching, he wouldn't have caught the smudge of grey that appeared in the distance. Concerned, Setu made himself small - a habit he had picked up in cubhood- and studied the shape. The closer it got, the more he could see the outline of a feline.
Wait. The grey pattern on white... Those white paws and the white face? Could it be?
Setu rose from his spot and padded towards the lion, meaning to turn in a half circle and approach him from the side.
Could it be his brother?

He had been unaware of the presence watching him in the grasses. He was not used to hiding anymore, having no need. He was safe, or at least, he felt safe.. If he wasn't he could deal with that later. He did notice the shape as it rose from the grass, and started slowly towards him. He perked his ears, arching an eyebrow as he continued. He wasn't going to stop because someone was approaching.. But the way they had appeared he was hoping they weren't some nefarious being.
Though the closer he got.. The more Hayven smiled. He knew that shape, that Pelt.. He knew that cautious, nervous guy that always hid at the sight of trouble. He was smart that way. But his doing it, made it all the easier for Hayven to identify him.
"Setu?" He asked, his voice loud enough to be heard but not -too- loud.

"Hayven!"
The questioning voice confirmed it. It was his brother, after all this time! Shedding his usual, wary demeanor out of the pure joy that coursed through his veins, he burst into a run to cross the short distance that separated them.
"Hayven, I'm so glad to see you! What have you been up to?" The delight he was feeling also erased his usual self-restraint, so Setu laughed and swiped playfully at Hayven, as if he was a cub starting a scuffle with another sibling. "It's... It's been much too long!"

The voice rang out, and he smiled. He had known who that blue figure was. He would have known who it was anywhere. His family was the most important thing to Hayven, and the absence of his brother had been one that had hit him hard. But seeing him again.. That was a feeling he was going to enjoy.
When Setu began running, Hayven could not hold himself back. He took off, and once he was in the range of his brother he leapt at him, meeting him in the middle with an embrace. As much of one as he could get into of course.
"Brother. It has been forever." He said with a smile.
"You have missed a lot, Setu. Like, I am a new father." He said, standing tall and a bit proud as he backed away laughing from the swipe Setu threw his way.

Setu continued to laugh as Hayven embraced him, his brother's warmth bringing back fond memories from their younger days. Setu tussled a little with him, before breaking free to observe his brother more closely. He looked like he was in good spirits, which made him glad that Hayven had been faring well since their separation.
Though he wasn't expecting what he said next.
"It's been longer than fore- wait, what?" Setu stopped abruptly and shook his head, wondering if his ears had heard properly. His brother... a father! He couldn't hide the shocked but happy expression that crossed his face.
"Well well, I do have a lot to catch up on, it seems..." he said more quietly, resuming his usual calm demeanor a bit, although his joy remained as strong as ever. "New as in... recent? What else have I missed?"

Hayven noted the expression on his brothers features, and smiled again. He was proud to share the information with him, and he was glad he had returned. Hayven had always felt.. for lack of better words on his part, naked without his brother. They had been best friends for a good portion of their lives. "You'll have to meet them." He said, proud of his offspring as well. He was fairing very well in these new lands. Almost better than he had in the Misties before they had all gone their own way.

Setu couldn't keep the quiet delight off of his face when Hayven suggested he meet them. He had been so alone, so lonely... Suddenly having not only his brother back, but an entirely new portion of family to meet was having an overwhelming effect on the lion. Relief, joy, uncertainty, pride... He couldn't even settle on a single name for what he was feeling. His voice caught briefly in his throat before he could speak again. "I'd be honoured to be a part of your cubs' lives," he said, bowing a little in politeness, and to keep Hayven from seeing the expression on his face. "Even if that means just a brief meeting." Recovering a little, he looked back up with a gentle smile. "I have been searching for so long for a new place to be," he admitted as well, nodding for emphasis. "So I am very happy that you have found a place."

"Come brother. We have lots to talk about." He said, patting his brother on the back with a mighty paw. He grinned, motioning for him to follow. "We definitely have a place at home for you." He chuckled, and then started heading towards home. They didn't have a long walk, but there was a decent one just the same. He was happy to have his brother home, the smile couldn't be contained.

"With pleasure," Setu replied simply, grinning as Hayven patted him with a strong paw.
As terrible as their natal pride's disbandment and his trials in the roguelands where he met kind and cruel strangers alike all was for him, he felt that this was the moment where he would be rewarded for his constant perseverance. Everything seemed much brighter than before, and the blue lion felt a heavy weight lift off of his chest.
A new home. A new life. And new family!
