It had been over a day since they returned to school, and for the most part, the voices in his head had started to clear, or at least quieten down; the only thing he gained from it was a headache, part of what he imagined was a conscience, and from that, even more headache because things that didn't bother him before started to bother him.
However, despite the headache, he wasn't one to be a hermit, which was why he found himself climbing down the stairs of the reaper dorms, in a relatively neutral mood. His familiar was, as always, riding on his shoulder, wearing a perceptually worried expression; they did just witness a whole civilization being wiped out.
And not just any civilization - one of the oldest and most powerful.
She hadn't been able to sleep well. In fact, she was very surprised to see Thanatos energetic the next morning; she wished that whatever affliction he had could give him even more of a conscience. What he had clearly wasn't enough.

The voices had been rather bothersome for Shun. He had tried a few different things to get them to quiet down, but it didn't seem that he was going to find silence just yet. The reaper had been out for an early morning stroll in one attempt to clear his head. It didn't really work. Aside from the constant whispers, he had a few things plaguing his mind. Various worries here and there.
Grimacing, he started his way up the stairs, almost walking into someone coming on down.
"Excuse me," he murmured as he started to try and move around him. Though, he soon recognized the other as Thanatos, the one with the snake.

He stepped to a side, allowing the other reaper to pass, but for a moment, the whispers in his mind ceased almost completely, dominated by a single whisper, and a flash of something; it really wasn't a pleasant experience. It was like watching a poorly made movie on a skelevision that was about to blow up and in a room with really bad lighting.
"Shun, is that right?" He paused, looking surprised before turning around and taking a quick step up, deliberately blocking his path by extending out an arm to the wall, "Do you have a moment to talk?"
His conscience made him do it.

Shun hadn't really been paying attention to Thanatos, though, he stopped as the other reaper suddenly blocked his path. Furrowing his brow, he looked towards the other, wondering what it was he wanted.
"..yes. What is it?" he asked. There were whispers of suspicion within the back of his mind. What did he want?

"You don't happen to like walking down corridors, in hopes of walking into a place that doesn't lead to anywhere in the school, by any chance? Or happen to have a friend with a habit of doing that?" He asked, still not allowing him to pass; anyone walking past them might actually think that he was flirting with Shun. This was not good for his image, really, but it's his responsibility to tell... Whether people take his words seriously or not is their own problem.
"You might want to answer that question honestly, by the way."

This was rather random to be dealing with. Though, from what Thanatos was saying, it sounded like he was referring to the Haunted House. What did that have to do with anything? It was hard to say what the reaper was trying to get at here. With his hands in his pockets, Shun stared at the other boy, waiting for him to let him pass.
"I have been to the Haunted house several times, yes," he said, "What about it?"

"Well, you see," He had drawn his hand back at this point in time, but he was now standing right in the middle of the stairway. Biskoto also seemed ready to block anyone who might try to bypass them, "I didn't quite properly introduce myself. I'm from- Well, I suppose that doesn't matter. I'm a Moira Reaper. Our ability to see fragments of the future is as natural as a Grim's ability to sense the presence of ghosts and spirits. Of course, like all abilities, it is limited and I wish I could say more, but-"
At this point, the look he was giving Shun grew serious, although he sounded rather nonchalant, like he was reading a paragraph from a book, "I believe that sometime in the future - it might be your future, it might be that of someone close to you - entering this 'Haunted House' might not be a good idea." He grinned, chuckling lightly, "Fate was - is - very cruel to us Moira Reapers, Shun. Whenever we see a fragment of someone's future, it is almost never good news."

The mention of Thanatos being a Moira reaper was intriguing. Shun had heard of them, but they weren't very common, unlike the grims. The fates, as they were also known as at times. He didn't know a huge deal of them, but he did know that they had strayed a bit since it broke up into three families. In fact, he recalled hearing his father rant about a thing or two about them, as they were rather fickle towards one another.
That aside, the reaper's expression soon darkened as Thanatos explained the bit about the haunted house, apparently saying something of a bad omen regarding it. He would normally be wary of such things, but this was turned up even more thanks to the recent wave of paranoia that had hit him.
"Right. Though, if this is supposed to be a joke, I fail to understand the humor in it."
Not that he ever really understood humor to begin with. That was besides the point.

"I don't joke where visions are concerned. It's probably the only thing I don't joke about," He replied, raising an eye brow at his fellow reaper, "However, what you wish to do with what I just told you is your own business. Besides, it was a vague vision. Whoever I saw might not even be you."
That said, he finally stepped aside, making way for Shun to pass, "Do you remember what Death said? All paths lead to the same end. While I still have no idea what she was talking about, I was told from young that the only end certain for everyone, regardless of your experiences, possessions and race, is death waiting at the end of it all. The paths inbetween determine the type of experiences you get, and those are the experiences that we can change."

Shun eyed Thanatos rather critically. Apparently the haunted house was a bad place for him right now. Or will be at some point in the future. Fate was something he believed could be changed. It was why he never really looked too far into the future personally.
"Yes. I'm sure that was what Medea and the clan in general speak of. We are not immortal. We're close to it, but not quite," he said quietly.
"I would like to think that I have my own fate within my control otherwise. But.. I suppose thank you for the warning."

"Everyone dies, that's the only fate you can't control," He grinned, taking one step down the stairs as he turned away, looking forward rather than back at Shun, "Everything else - everything in-between - is up to you... It's more entertaining that way, isn't it? If life was linear, it wouldn't be much of a show. As such, think nothing of it. It's only a job, after all."
Saying nothing else, he made his way down the steps, with Biskoto turning around and waving at the boil with the end of her tail, offering him what could look like a smile if she also didn't look so worried, "Sssssee you around, darling!"

Shun furrowed his brow at this before watching Thanatos make his way down the stairs. Shaking his head, he silently went on up towards his room. He'd shape his own future.
