RC, as before when a portal appeared found herself landing in a strange but all too familiar world. When she looked around she saw that there with her was Arell, Dundee and C.J. First one universe but now another... one that branched off of her own. For the time being she was as close to home as she could be. She stood up and brushed off her costume and looked to the three. "Could be worse... not really." She thought. The forest was just as foggy and dark as she'd remembered. The clay colored plants and dirt remained, unchanged. Time never touched this place... just those who come here from a time. She shook her head and then payed more mind to a particular action of cutting wood off of one of the darker trees. C.J. sat near what appeared to be a place they were planning to start a fire with a lighter.

"SSH! hey, stoppit."

She said going up to Arell grabbing his arm.

How the gang got to this world was something the guys were far from able to explain. They had started off their journey out to a day at the beach in Maude, the pickup truck Arell and C.J. co-owned. That said truck, par for the course, was now the heap of junk, as the latter damned it to be.

Arell, unaware of C.J. playing with his lighter, was surprised when Kai caught his arm before he chopped down one of the trees. He looked over at the winged one.

"Why'dja grab my arm, che'? Gotta git a good fire an' some sheltah goin'." Arell said. Of course, all those nights camping out in the swamps and bayous of Southwestern Louisiana had honed him into quite the outdoorsman, unlike Dundee, who was still in the cab of Maude, looking furiously for Arell's flint and steel, unaware of C.J., who was on the tailgate playing with his zippo.

"Y'know, we always wind up in some strange a** situation when we take Maude out. First that Halloween party, then almost gettin' hit by a train and now this!" C.J. said, hopping down from the truck. "Reckon we'll have us 'nuff money to buy us a real car. Thinkin' a ragtop." the lad mused. All he had to do was wait 'til they were ready for that fire.

"Where's Dundee?"

Kai looked around almost panicked. She let go of Arell's arm but still kept looking at the area he hit as though almost dazing off into space. Her arms slowly lowered as she stood behind the Cajun.

"I'll handle this, y'all." C.J. said as he went towards the cab of the truck, where Dundee was, reading War and Peace. Of course, the loud BANG! BANG! BANG! of C.J.'s fist against the door got his attention right away.

"What? What happened? Wait, did we get lost?" Dundee asked as Arell looked over at the truck.

"Dun', git yer sophisticated college boy a** outta de car! I tol' ya we had t' make camp!" the big Cajun growled as he looked up at the tree he was cutting down. One more tree and they'd have enough firewood for tonight.

"Um, No fires... period, it's best we find a way out of here towards what I call, /some/ civilization. A fire is only going to bring trouble."

Trouble, like monsters of sorts. She had a few other rules but maybe best mentioned as they start on their way to a village. Already she felt as though they'd catch on that she knew this place. It was okay, she felt okay with them knowing this, but she wasn't okay with them knowing why. At least not yet. Sure she was not angry at Arell anymore for shooting her, or having to help Dundee out of that poison coma he was in. If anything she felt lucky that just being here hasn't brought that side out of her yet. How easily she could maneuver around, see past this fog and keep other creatures at bay if she did. Kai grabbed Arell's arm and pulled him over towards CJ and Dundee... well, at least tempted to.

"Let's go, now. Leave this truck behind, it's too noisy."

A priest, what she would give for one of them. They didn't like her too much here but it was better that she got help for her friends. So that they don't get hurt here, not as much as she has been.

There were some soft rustles in a thick and dark grove of vines ten yards away from the small group, but the movement occurred for just a moment before it stopped and went silent................

Suddenly a voice came from above. "Holly MACARONI!!!!!" Crystal had been jumping between rooftops and suddenly the next one was gone and she was plumiting down towards the group.

She thought quickly and used one of her lines to catch a thick branch of a nearby tree, stopping herself. After assessing the distance to the ground she yanked on the wire and it released, letting her fall safely to the ground. "What the hell?"

"Civilization an' I doan' get along. But hey, you know de lay of the land." Arell said, willingly moving along. However, when Crystal fell from the sky, he almost went to catch her, almost taking Kai with him. Of course, when she landed safely on the ground he heaved a sigh of relief.

When C.J. heard they were ditching the truck, he smiled. "Thank God. Pile a' junk only could make 50 goin' downhill!" he growled as Dundee left Maude. The boys grabbing some ammo and anything else they needed for the trip. Odd thing about Arell, for someone who didn't seem like he had a lot of money, he sure had plenty of bullets.

C.J. on the other hand, pulled out a small derringer. "Damn truck. I'll catch up. This is personal!" C.J. said, aiming the small gun at the front of Maude the pickup.

"G'night, Maude." he growled and fired a shot at the truck, the water from the radiator shooting high in the air as he walked back to the others. "That felt good to do that." C.J. said as he walked away from the truck.

Dundee however was surprised. "Why'd you do that? You tryin' to get us all killed?" he asked as C.J. returned to the group.

"Naw, that thing I heard rustlin' in the woods ten seconds ago may do that fer us." C.J. said.

Arell on the other hand joined Crystal. "Hey, darlin'." he said with a smile. He didn't hear what C.J. said, otherwise his gun would be drawn and out.

"What was rustling was another person..."

Kai answered without reason. She could really sense aura in this place, the fact that any of them were living in a desolate landscape with these clay soul stealing monsters made them stick out like sore thumbs. Morsels really. She shook her head and walked up to some thick plants and pulled Robin through the vines intangibly.

"Also, no shot gun fires please... there is no point to them. Starting from here on out no running or loud startling noises either... It's bad enough that we stick out with our colors against this clay landscape with our souls intact."

She looked back to Arell, Crystal, Dundee, and C.J. as she spoke directing her attention TO the noise makers.

"Well 'scuse us. We don't have powers or Bat stuff. So we gotta level de playin' field." he said. When she pulled Robin out of the vines, C.J. smirked.

"Hey, Robin. Wings clipped in the vines?" he asked as Dundee looked around them. It was a bit of a funny moment seeing Gotham's boy wonder stuck in the vines. It seemed like he was the one making the noise, so he nodded towards Kai. "Prob'ly it." he said.

"So wait, we're not making camp?" Dundee asked.

"What part of this place seems safe enough to camp?"

RC gestured at the surrounds and then stopped to take a second look at Robin to see if he was okay. Those plants could have just trapped him or caught his fall, she wasn't sure but it was best that they move quickly. Nothing here would have made that much noise coming for them so they had to get moving. Of course, she couldn't help but smirk sarcastically before giving another strait answer looking around. The trails that led each direction were definitely made by the nasty creatures that live there. There was no sign of protection spells or human protection set up in this area. If they were lucky they would find a path that leads to a white zone, or a small village. Last she knew, everyone who managed to survive in such a place and made it back to the real earth left no one behind. So she was expecting that there would be no welcome in the villages.

"We need to find a village, it's somewhere here... and it has relics, amulets and spells protecting it from things that would otherwise have us dead. Nothing here feels, there is no way to hurt anything or negotiate. Our chance to live is us not making mistakes."

"Y'know, once you get past everythin' tryin' to kill ya, it's actually not that bad." C.J. mused. Looking around at everything he was rather curious of the whole place. He wanted to go check it out.

Arell on the other hand, was having flashbacks to when he was holed up on the Louisiana bayous. Of course the only difference between here and there was at least in Louisiana, the things trying to kill ya (snakes, gators) were sometimes pretty tasty.

"Woah- oh-"

After Robin was pulled from the tangled-vine mess, he started patting at his person and straightening his dark cape so it would drape down. He spoke a bit sheepishly.

"Thanks RC- I have no idea what happened-"

One second he had been swinging above the skyline, the next he had fallen in the thick of some jungle foliage. He took a better glance around from where he stood as he listened to Kai and looked among the other four. From her words, it was already obvious that she knew where they were, and what kind of dangers they were going to be facing.

Kai felt a little bit embarrassed that they had taken to this place better than she first did... She was alone but at least they were just looking around as if the place was not that bad. Was it just her being paranoid? She had to wonder. But she started walking off in a particular direction and motioned for all of them to follow. She blushed from embarrassment a little bit before answering Robin.

"It's okay, at least you're safe. Just follow me guys. I know this place very well, not a leaf has changed really since I left."

She looked back.

"Well, the leaves that you guys haven't touched are the same anyway..."

No point in saying that she didn't know the place. At least, they would have figured out just by her reaction.

Tim followed behind Kai and continued scoping out the area around them. It was so odd... it reminded him of the time they had been trapped in San Fransisco. No real color.

"So what is 'this place'? And how did we get here?"

Wow, that second question was probably like asking what happened that merged all their verses in the first place... so Robin didn't know how much of answer he'd get for that one.
