Post Traumatic Pony Disorder. That was what Israfel felt like calling it. He was still jittery but, he'd been dealing well enough with the change. It wasn't bad by any means it was simply...different. He wasn't used to confrontation of any sort, his emotions and feelings included. He had a napping nightmare sadly, though he'd woken and calmed himself down. Queen-King, forced to watch as hunter and horsemen fought and died, as a bird of grey flew over them all, swallowing them into nothingness. The color grey made him wince now. The word 'insanity' making him flinch. It was too soon to confront it. Yet he wanted to talk. Actually talk. About the affliction to Riley and what had happened. What they had seen and done- he'd sent the two ghouls a text, inviting them out to the lake. He'd bring snacks. He just wanted to talk. Discuss. Figure out where it all had gone wrong. Sighing he laid back on the blanket he'd set up. Things were so complicated now.

Her important discussions had happened first - Malodore, Jericho. She'd had to check after them first. Give the dragon a shoulder to cry on, hold him for a while as he wept. It sort of made her feel better, but part of her felt guilty for that. She'd sucked it up and made a point to stay as long as he would have her, however.
Which she was turning into forever, to be honest. His room was almost like a smelter at times, but the warmth had made it easy to just sit with him as he rested and not worry about moving. About going anywhere. But this had been a text to respond to and go to meet up with Israfel and Sammy about.
The Lake. She would go.
And part of her would feel sadness for it. A big part of it, but it was a nice chance to feel the breeze for a while and see those who might have been wondering if Jericho had devoured her or something.
Still, she couldn't help but look weighted down even as she settled in to wait for Sammy, looking around for Israfel in the meantime.

Her arrival was no different from any other time she appeared in a situation. She marched along boots crushing gravel along the ground as she walked her arms where crossed under her chest as if huddling against an unknown cold. The Siren had sent the call, and she would respond. She needed to, she had to talk to someone, everyone and anyone really.
At the same time she dreaded what would happen, the emotions it would bring, still the much more level headed Siren was the one calling. She was curious to see what he had to say as she arrived.
"Hello Shehk," she was quiet, surely she had been the busiest of all dealing with Jericho, and likely Maladore too. "Israfel here yet?"

A crack and hiss as Israfel opened the soda. There were coming and the more relaxed they could be, the better. Waving them over, he hoped they liked what he'd gotten. Store bought snacks and sugar- not bad but not the best. "I'm glad you both seem to be doing well." The cool air rushed by, and for a second he let his feathers puff out. "I wanted to talk with you both about our last field trip, if one could call it that." Taking a deep breath, his feathers relaxed and he motioned to the cloth covering the ground. "But first- are you both doing as well as you look or are we all in the boat of having yet another traumatic memory scared into our minds?"

Shehk deviated from any and all snacks present - her finicky diet said 'Oh hellz no' about soda and 'double hellz no' about sugar.....Sugar. Riley loved sugar. Nngghhh, her chest really hurt. "If I seem like I'm doing well then I'm a better actor than I'd like to be." she confessed, static lacing the edges of her mind.
However, at the mention of what their little 'meet up' was to be about, she grimaced. Great, more feeling time. "I wouldn't have called a field trip even without the surprise ending." she noted.

The ghoul shifted uneasily moving towards the drinks fishing about to find something blood and brain based, cheap but it worked. Not like she needed to eat or drink so much as she did it for the taste. Her body did something with the food, she wasn't sure what but she never dwelled on it much.
"I've been... better. The holes a hunter left in my chest are gone, it's a nice change." She tapped her chest gently indicting the two places Harrison so swiftly stuck his swords. She seemed to look off somewhere frowning.
"The voices are annoying but... tolerable..." She could feel them nagging even now, but holding conversation with others seemed to push them aside just a bit. She looked at Shehk next with a small frown, "We should know by now leaving he school's only brought us misfortune."

He nodded slightly. "You seem a touch distant, but, not to a overly great extent Shehk. I do not think you are acting as you might be doing what had been doing for the better part of a year, internalizing. But if you'd like a different term for it, would excursion suffice?" He seemed relaxed almost, if not for the twitching with his left earwing. Another sip from his drink and he was fisshing in a pocket for something. At first he pulled out a protection charm but huffed and set it aside. Finally, he came back with his phone.
"Wrong. While leaving the school has caused a great deal of hardship, it has not been utterly a fruitless or completely tragic thing. Had we not been set to the land of Christmas, I doubt I'd have made friends with many. It was were I met Riley after all." The mention of her name, while spoken with a sort of detachment, was shown in his wings, shuffling and being pulled closer to his body. "I am happy you both are not greatly suffering, our loss aside. I would like to ask, do you think there was a way which we might have helped her?"
Israfel was uneasy enough. Talking was hard after all, and he hadn't had a conversation like this in over a year.

Shehk suddenly frowned at the question.
"I don't know. We'd been looking for some sort of cure ever since Scarentine's when...they old me about the affliction." She wasn't really needing to hide it at that point. Jericho had said he didn't care who knew, and as it stood more people were going to find out. She'd protected him up to this point, but....
"Jericho says that when they spoke to Invictus about the affliction he gave them some sort of information, but they were having some trouble in finding a proper way to actually put it to use...because it involved raw FEAR. Like..from the source." Which meant humans. She wasn't sure how useful that would have been though. They needed to fin humans who weren't hunters to try such a thing and they weren't exactly available to them.
"But to be honest, I'm not sure if that would have helped her with how she was at the end."

Sammy took a long drink from her can looking up towards the dim sky, purple eyes flickering for a moment. "Yeah. Christmas, Riley was riding around on Jericho's back like some smug queen..." She continued to sip watching as Israfel spoke before she finished her drink placing the can on the ground rolling it under her feet.
"Still, Red, now Riley, and Jack, the Hunters took out almost all of the Four Clans." She let the weight of her boot slowly crush the can, "The cost of some of the good memories is starting to outweigh them.."
Another look crossed her face as she looked at Shehk as 1 + 1 made two, "You... you weren't acting odd because of liking Jericho, you knew back then," She shivered, "Dammit why didn't they tell anyone? They know any of us would have done anything to help them!" She slumped down into the dirt sitting back resting on her hands.
"We ******** it up again.... I tried... I tried not to make the same mistake I made with Red, I nearly broke some Reapers face because he was trying to hit her. But what can you do at that point?" She glanced at Shehk, "How do you give raw FEAR to someone who's gone that far? We might be able to save Jericho with it somehow, or others but, but what if it gets that bad again? What do we do then?"

Israfel cocked his head. "They? Others are afflicted? Or do you mean Riley and no doubt Ma- Oh." A sad look passed his features, ear wings falling back. "I...I was unaware that Jericho..." A small sounds came out, the familiar sound of worry and concern he often made before he had returned to lucidity. Then a frown. "To be fair however, the hunters mentioned that horsemen capture and kill humans and wished to end the world. Perhaps a bit extreme on their part, but, any animal with fight when threatened. But, that is not our concern." Sighing, he leaned back. "Perhaps the solutions lies not in a cure but in an adaptation. As far as we know the heirs were deeply effected, yet they are still with us. If however, raw forms of FEAR is the answer, a possible cure, Jericho and any other infected might be able to petition for a passport. There are several teachers who might be willing to oversee a student group or individual. The group or person, under the pretense of learning, would direct the FEAR they harvest to the infected. From the results one might be able to see if would require multiple visits. From there, we would need to find a teacher or one with gate access to allow multiple visits without scrutiny."

"Because not everybody in Amityville is on their side. I was only told about it because they were worried I was exposed." she licked her fangs. "In fact, as much of an eye as I keep on Jericho, he is keeping one on me in turn." As there was no telling if Shehk could have been showing signs of Insanity - she was already Grey enough to just be passing off as normal.
"All it takes is a Boogeyman finding out and then Amityville is in trouble and we're under Quarantine again." she said further.
"Malodore is immune." Shehk said on the note of the plague doctor. "So when we all fall to Insanity, Plague Doctors will rule the earth, I guess." she looked to Sammy, then away from her again. "Visiting the human world seems like something that would be made more possible for the older students via the mentoring program, I'd think.
However, I'm just going to put this out there: I don't think that Jericho would do too well in a structured arrangement like that. You two might not be fully aware of how bad he can get if he feels threatened or wary about something, but....." she frowned.
"He can get rather...intense.... at times........" Like when he started spewing fire everywhere and she had to duck and cover. She wouldn't say much more than that.

"For all we know after that trip, after the pheonix," she sighed heavily running her bone fingers through her hair. "We all feel the effects of Insanity, it could... it could get worse. I don't want to admit it, but it's possible."
Adaptation? She glanced at her left arm pondering that, "I've seen some adaptation, hell my eyes have to count too." Slowly she laid back on the grass ripping blades and letting them fall and drift away with the wind. "The horsemen have existed ages longer then us. The heirs make us look like scarlings out the pumpkin, they have more FEAR and power then any of us. Adaption for them is one thing, but not us."
She knew of the mentoring program, but traveling to the human world via it hadn't crossed her mind at all really. She glanced over at Shehk resting her head on her hands as she turned to her side slightly, eyes half closed. "Shehk I'm sorry... when you came to my room and I was giving you so much grief.... it was all because of this..." she closed her eyes muttering swears at herself.
"Immune huh? Maybe he could contain the cure... but that's the opposite of the Horsemens advice." For a moment a smile crossed her lips, "Dating a fire breathing monster with short tempers. Shehk, you are a very ballsy girl..."

Shehk had a very good point, all it would take is one slip up. One misstep, and they would all pay the price. Plus if Jericho was lashing out, "Yes, he's gotten more 'VOI' as of late hasn't he?" he'd not fault the dragon, Israfel was sure Insanity was not pleasant to that degree of exposure. Picking at the lace on his coat, he listened. They had ideas..and possible set backs. He did smile at the ghoul. "Congrats on your relationship by the by. It is a good match. Indeed, insanity infected or not I am sure he can ignite your fire now can't he?" There was no long an excuse for innocence as he said it. "And before we get off track, while the Heirs are far older, FEAR is in the end, FEAR. It is possible that Insanity treats all victims the same, but those with greater power, it takes longer. Like a large bottle of water takes longer to flavor that a small cup. Malodore might have been to prolonged exposure, or to-" He glanced at Shehk. "Sexual? I was not that much of a shipper, but they were intimate in their own way. If they shared small bits of FEAR an immunity might have formed." He waved his hand. "I believe some of the trick or treaters might be offering mentorship, and they have proved to be on our side against the boogeymen. While they might not be wholely trustable, they are far more lax. But has Malodore, tried to transfer his immunity to others by sharing FEAR?"

"Just dating, we're....nothing more than at an akward impasse that is mostly my fault. I'm just fortunate he's willing to entertain my whims as much as he is. He's really too good for me, even with his little moments." she admitted sheepishly. "It's just... a lot of fun. It has been too long, y'know? Gotta have a bit of excitement in unlife and he's a pretty nice fit for it. Fun, but ... I dunno, he's a lot of things. I like that about him. I wish I could just ease his sorrows more, I guess."
Still, at Israfel's implication about RIley and Malodore........
...... .....................................
Shehk was trying to imagine...okay, actually no. She was going to stop imagining that now. Anyyyy time now. C'mon. Now? Nope. Okay, that wasn't happening. However, the thought she was having was obvious based on the looks that played across her face.
"It hasn't tried yet. I think it has to do with it being part of a natural ability it has? But that doesn't mean it isn't worth a shot. Perhaps I'll mention that to it next time we run across each other.

"I hate to say it but honestly he's always been Voi happy.... latest events just give him every right to be like that." For a moment she seemed to look away, ignoring most of the talk about Jericho and Shehk. It would be wrong to say anything considering she was for all intense and purpose a bit jealous about it, but it wasn't exactly fair to be so.
One of them was practically dying, the other had gotten out of a bad relationship and was happy. She had no right to say anything and so she simply didn't. Instead she took up her time rolling over to grab another drink before speaking again.
"I'd like to talk to Nox to be honest, but I hear part of his requirments is passing that damned fire course." She paused for a moment licking her lips clean before sitting up a bit more properly, "Actually, Nox is probably someone we should talk to right away. He told us about the hunters a while back. Riley, myself, Bul, and Jericho too. It was a fluke meeting and well... he mentioned the one called H."
As for the talk of sex she could only make the most leecherous grins. "I'maaah... lets just leave this topic right now before I start getting distracted with bad thoughts..." Ehehehe... Siddie. Yup.
The topic turned serious easily enough again and she could only shrug. "What we need. Is Riley. Cricket needs to see a whole case of this. She never had a chance to look at Red, nor has Maladore had a chance to look at things properly. The question; how do we do that?"
