In a small village just at the foot of a mountain lived a small town of people who thrived off the land. The fruit that grew in the forest. The fish that swam in the nearby river. Everyone there lived fairly simple lives and for the most part, they were happy. In a bad turn of events this little village was attacked by evil monstrous things who nearly destroyed everything everyone had worked for. In time though everyone was saved by a group of sailor senshi. One of the senshi hailed from this small village, and from then forth was known as a hero to everyone there. Even though many years had past since she lived with her friends and family, she never broke her vow to protect them when trouble rose again. To this day, she continues to return to her homeland and visit every once in a while. The villagers were always very happy to see her.
Katsini Tatanga was just a small child as she walked beside her mother. People in town seemed to be in shock & awe as they walked past everybody. "Mommy, I don't like people looking at us.." she said as she hid her face against her mother. Mommy just patted her head and kept walking until they got to the house they were headed for. There was a very old woman sitting outside on the stairs of the porch. "GRANMA!" Katsini shouted as she ran to the woman. She practically threw herself on the poor lady in excitement as she gave her grandma a big huge hug.
"Tatanga, how are you my girl?" her grandma hugged her back. "I'm great, granma!! I missed you!"
"I missed you too darling. Go inside for a bit. There's cookies I baked fresh this morning for you!"
"YAAY!!" Katsini shouted as she ran in the house.
Grandma sighed as she looked to her daughter. "I'm glad you could make it on such short notice."

"It's okay, Mom.." Mirage said softly as she hugged her. "In fact, I'm surprised that it was Krowie who came and got me. Why did you send my brother..? Is everything okay Mom?" Mirage sounded worried and couldn't really make up why her mother needed her so urgently. "Uhm..but...could we go inside real quick before you answer, please? Tatanga's right about all these people staring at me everytime I come home.." she sighed.

Her mother nodded and escorted Mirage into the house. They both sat down in the kitchen were Katsini was happily eating up all the cookies.
"To put your mind at ease, I am not dying." she laughed. "I had to send Krowie to get you because I was needed here." She glanced over to Katsini, then leaned in closer to Mirage and whispered, "Our Elders suspect that our village is once again in danger. Everyone is worried that those terrible shadow monsters will show up again very soon. We want to be prepared."

"Okay." Mirage said softly with a nod. "When we came into town, Krowie went to see The Elders right away. Should I go too?"

"Where we going, mommy???" Katsini said with excitement. "I wanna go to the river!!"
Katsini's grandma shook her head at Mirage, finishing the conversation, "Stay here for now. The Elders will call you if they need you."
"Mommy?" Katsini got up off her chair. "Can we please go to the river today? Pleeeease?? Please? Pleeeeeaaase"

Mirage kinda just sat at the table with her head in her hand, pondering on what the shadow demons could be planning and why they could come back NOW after many, many years. Were they stronger than ever? Did they find alleys? Mirage had to find out for herself, and rather than waiting for the Elders she would go and pursue some answers.
"YES - you can go to the river! I'll join you later. I just..um, need to relax for a little while."

"YAY!" Kastini bounced away to change into shorts and a tanktop. She then grabbed a small bag and was on her way! When she got to the river, there were people fishing on the far side way up stream. Closer to where she was, there were a bunch of kids around her age playing in the water. "Hi guys!" she waved.
Some of the kids stopped playing and looked over to her. They seemed in shock that they saw her. As they stopped, other kids were starting to look at her too. "Umm...are you guys okay??" she asked them all horribly confused.
"You...you can't be here!!" one of the kids said to Katsini.
"Yeah! The last THREE times you were here, we all got attacked!!"
"WHAT? I didn't attack you!!"
"Not you! You brought evil things here and our parents had to fight them."
"But-"
"Yeah! And then, Sailor Midnight had to come rescue everybody."
Katsini was furious and threw her bag down on the ground. "It wasn't MY FAULT! I thought you guys were my friends!"
"Tatanga!" one of the other kids shouted. "Just leave!"
"No!" Katsini said as she stood her ground. "I will not 'just leave'! I'm here and I'm going to have fun visiting my family! You guys won't ruin it for me!" She grabbed her bag and decided to walk away. "Stupid kids... I hate them all!" she mumbled and sniffed. After a ways, she sat down behind a tree. "They're right though, how come everytime I visit granma something happens..?" she asked herself.

Meanwhile, Mirage had since left the house to talk to with the Elders of the town in order to find out what was going on. After entering and going through a series of corridors, she arrived at a rather large room with the court of Elders and her brother in the middle of their semi-circle gathering.
The Elders looked up from Krowie and then he turned back behind him. "Wha..? I thought you were staying at mom's house."
"I was. But right now,I need to find out what information we have exactly so we can all prepare."
"Very well then.." One of the Elders spoke as he rose from his seat. "On the contrary to what you may have heard already, these new demons are not the ill-fated shadows of King Iltar. We've realized that this new threat to our people comes from a far interstellar place."
Mirage raised an eye brow. "Are you saying there's people on another planet coming to kill us?"
"Not people. Mirage.. do you remember the Del'um'ae?"
She froze in place. Wide eyed in disbelief. "You...can't be serious. Why would THEY come back after all this time?"
"I think you know why.." The Elder said narrowing his eyes at her.
Mirage didn't quite like the look he gave her. "If they're after me, then why did you bring me HERE of all places!?"
"...Because we want to help protect you and daughter."
Mirage fell silent for a moment, not taking her eyes off of The Elder. "Tatanga's not going to be a part of this. Frankly, I don't want any of you in danger either. If this is the case, I should leave right now."
"Then what? They will still come after you. They'll even come after us looking for you. Why can't we all stand as one and fight? We will protect each other, our home, our families and banish anyone who threatens us once and for all."
Mirage turned away from everyone as she began to leave the room. "I will let you know.."

Katsini was on her way home dragging her bag behind her. "I don't care if they don't like me but they didn;t have to be so mean.." she was still mumbling and crying over the events at the river. She then looked up and saw her mommy walking out of a large building. "Mommy!!!" She cried running up to her, "I went to the river but the kids there were being mean!!"

Mirage was caught off guard as she heard her child yelling. "Tatanga! What's wrong?" She said as she hugged her. "Why were they being mean?"

She sniffed, trying to tell her side of the story, "Mommy how come everytime we come here we get attacked by monsters? That was years ago and they say it's MY fault!! I didn't do nothing mommy!! I'm telling the truth! Will more monsters come & get us?? What if they come while we're sleeping! Will Sailor Midnight help us this time? What if she doesn't come?"

"Oh no, have I forgotten to tell her...?" Mirage thought to herself.
"Sweetie, I know you didn't do anything. Don't worry about those monsters.. we'll be safe." she said trying to comfort Tatanga. "And don't you dare worry about those stupid kids now, okay? How about we go back to Granma's. Maybe you & her can make some more cookies or something."

Katsini sighed, "Okay mommy. Can I make the chocolate cookies!? I like chocolate!"
A few days passed since they were visiting home town. Katsini was starting to feel a little better about being there. Her family was being extra nice and taking her out themselves so she didn't have to worry about everyone else so much. Sometimes she would ask her mom more about monsters and Sailor Midnight, to which she only replied to not worry about them. Sometimes her mom would fill her in on the stories of who the sailor scouts are, but Katsini seemed confused every time wondering how people can just risk their lives for people they've never met and probably don't like.
One day, everyone went out to enjoy the good weather. Katsini, her mom, her uncle and her grandparents. Within time however, everyone's fun was dampened by dark clouds over head. Mostly everyone thought it was going to rain, but Katsini pointed out something unusual about these clouds.
"Look, doesn't it look like there's something in the clouds?"

Choucho looked at the clouds with a smile. She could only hope that it was imminent destruction. It wasn't rain....
She turned away from her thoughs, now wondering what next she could kill. This tree she sat in?
Or perhaps the animals nearby. Birds would make good target practice. Their bodies began to surround her.
"Blazing Impact!"

Mirage looked towards the direction Tatanga had pointed to. She was right, there was a dark cloud rolling in and Mirage didn't like how they looked at all. These where incredibly too dark to be storm clouds and they were certainly rolling in too quickly.
The only thing Mirage could make out in the clouds were figured that looked similar to what her & the elders discussed earlier. The Del'um'ae. Horrid lizard humanoids who were nothing but pure evil. They have long hated Mirage's people for reasons that spanned back into ancient times.
"After all these years, they have returned..." She grumbled. By this time, her mother tried to pull Tatanga and the rest of the family back into shelter.
