The sight that greeted the returning hunters was not the wasted destruction of Deus Ex Machina, nor was it the comfort of place that was slowly coming to mean some small measure of safety. They went to the portal to reach home, or what remained of it, and instead they found themselves in an unfamiliar room of stones walls and floors, more of a cave than a room really. Clusters of softly glowing crystals, the same as those found in Excalibur's chamber helps emphasize this. A female labtech, one of the few left to oversee the island, was the first to speak up, her voice both excited and frazzled, "We...after it came, we though it might have wiped you out first."
Each division leader gave her a look, some slightly encouraging, but for the most part the silent message was loud and clear, Just who did she think they were? Clearing her throat, the tech stood straighter, and continued, "The Insanity creature came through the portal approximately five hours ago, Sirs. Following emergency protocols, many of those who stayed were able to evacuate to the underground base." She paused, looked down, "There have been several verified casualties, but there's at least a dozen unknowns. The town has been destroyed...again, and several outbuildings. We switched your portal coordinates, as the current status of the main facility is unknown. Sirs."
The Life lead gave her a small smile and turned to the other division leaders, "Well, I suppose a plan of action is in order, but for myself, I'll be taking a shower and a nap."
There was little in the way of argument, all of them battered an worn by the past few weeks, and feeling the lingering edge of Insanity. The tech gave them a somewhat panicked smile, "Um...there's a small barracks and communal shower for Council members...well, I'm sure you know the way. Sirs." Her eyes slid to the rest of the hunters and trainees, still filtering in. "Um, the larger barracks is open for everyone else, and communal showers too. You may have to sleep in shifts. If there's anyone wounded, they can stay in the infirmary. There's signs and maps at each cave intersection, so don't worry about getting lost, okay?"
The OOC BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! - Deus above ground facilities are off limits atm! - They are currently in the under ground complex! - Enjoy sleeping in barracks with all your fellow hunters! - Enjoy more communal showers! - Enjoy more MRE's! - Enjoy little to no privacy! - BUT AT LEAST YOU HELPED SAVE THE WORLD? - Trainees are ICly given two days to recover before they will be briefed on what has happened and what they can do about it. Available areas for prp/orp/solo: - The underground infirmary: Sunny is slightly glad to see you made it, but remember that the infirmary is for those who need to recover from physical injuries, not for make-out. She can and will use a spray bottle on your asses. - The trainee barracks: one big room full of bunkbeds. Space is limited, so you may need to sleep in shifts. - The canteen: Its a room full of tables. Here you can grab your MRE's, tea, and questionable coffee. - The communal showers: there IS gender separation, do not destroy these. - Killzone's meditation room. This cozy cave was once used for something entirely different, but now it's full of beanbags, motivational posters, and the soothing sounds of Enya. Time to find some inner-peace ******** the moment your trainee is considered to be on forced rest, even if they're relatively uninjured and want to help, all they'll get is stern looks and lectures on letting your body rest after weeks of stress and danger. Geeze.

This was not the normal Deus Ex Machina headquarters.
Gale staggered through the portal, feeling as though his head were going to explode. Weariness and exhaustion lay thick and heavy on his body, sinking into his bones, and he was not quite sure what was even going on anymore, except that one hand still held Jinhai, and the other was wrapped around Candace's tightly, refusing to let go.
He was not going to let go anytime soon - or at least, he hadn't planned on it, except that he desperately did need a shower and he could not very well do that with Candace there. And he wanted - needed - to find Eva, to make sure that she was all right as well, that she was not hurt, that she was still alive and breathing and okay.
His chest ached painfully. It hurt to breathe.
...Jinhai?
There was a small flash of white light from the hand that was not clutching Candace's. The sniper rifle disappeared and on his left index finger a silver banded ring formed, the golden runes engraved on the surface glowing dimly until it had completely reformed and settled.
<< Yes, Gale. >> said the dragon, and he sounded tired, almost as tired as Gale felt.
...are you all right?
There was a brief moment of quiet. Then -
<< ...mostly. What about you? >>
Gale swallowed, casting a surreptitious glance up at Candace. A hot flush of shame crossed his cheeks, embarrassment and frustration sinking into his thoughts.
Your'e just a kid after a -
Shut up. He took a deep breath. Then said quietly, in his mind, ...I've been better.
A small laugh, oddly reassuring. << So have I. >>
Gale's gaze flickered upwards.
"...so what now?" he asked Candace quietly.

<******** HOME!!
Or rather, it seemed like they were in an underground series of pathways (please not be the sewers again, she still wasn't sure she'd gotten all that smell out) that wasn't what she'd been expecting. Yet it sounded like things had gotten bad when the Phoenix had headed through the portal to the other side. Bad enough that they probably didn't have rooms anymore. However, by that point in time, Cass didn't care. Her hand slipped into Marcus's, she didn't care where they were.
They were together. They were home. She squeezed the Moon hunter's hand tightly even as they were given the run down of what was happening and where things were. Showers? Oh, she could have totally gone for a shower and then some right then. She needed it bad. They all needed it bad. Still, it was hard to pull her hand out of Marcus's for the sake of cleaning up. She'd done it anyways.
The water was horrendously cold, but she didn't care. Just scraping weeks of grime and filth off of her body was all she needed. It felt amazing, like she was rubbing off some part of herself she didn't need anymore.
The best. Almost. Almost the best.
The best was when she'd found a bunk to lay in and waited, beckoning Marcus over to lay with her when he was done cleaning up as well so they could sleep together as they always did, curled up next to each other. Peace. This was home.
Home.
She didn't want to ever leave it again.

Otto wasn't entirely certain if what he was experiencing was reality or not. He felt heavy, tired. After all of the hate, the pain; he was left feeling sad, melancholic. The small blonde held and arm around his stomach, gripping the stab wound on his side. He was beaten and bruised, but that was the most recent injury, one he focused on so he wouldn't have to deal with his mental state.
He felt so... so tired. Physically, mentally. And for the first time ever, he wanted to see Eva and Reine. Somehow, in the depths of his heart, he really did enjoy their company despite all of his complaints.
But they wouldn't want to see him..
No one would..
He was never worth the effort.
Otto once again tried not to think, and focused on the physical pain. It was easier to deal with. Groggily he moved to get patched up, weary from weeks of fighting.
More than anything, he wanted to sleep. Sleep for as long as possible.

Saya sat, against a wall, wishing that she could just sleep forever. But they just said they would have to sleep in shifts and what else were they saying? There was so much words mixed in, she didn't know if it was murmurs she was hearing from some mysteriously heightened sense or the insanity lingering ..
Her eyes looked up, for others, for division leaders, for Simon, Allan .. Her own division lead was gone, wasn't she? Julie. Saya didn't go to the infirmary, barracks or showers yet .. She buried her face in her knees, pulling her body close in a huddle. At this point, she didn't have much to go to.
Except, she was forgetting about Prompto.
I'm still here.

...Underground base?
She supposed that beggers couldn't be choosers--if this was a safe place where they could all catch up on much-needed rest, then that was all that mattered. The unusual anger that had filled her earlier seemed to have all but drained away, replaced instead by exhaustion. Her muscles ached from all the fighting--and that wasn't even including the injuries. Considering how it looked like everyone wanted to conk out for a few hours, perhaps it would be best if she got some food in her and took a shower first.
If she lasted staying up that long, at least.
Eva tried to do a quick look-through for her friends among all the familiar faces. Spotting Otto, she walked up behind him to give him a gentle, one-armed hug, mindful of his injuries. "I'm glad you're safe. Get yourself patched up and get some well-deserved rest, Otto." She gave him another squeeze around the shoulders before moving away.
When she spotted Gale, she began to approach him but paused along the way when she spotted Saya sitting against the wall. After a moment of hesitation, she leaned down to rest a comforting hand on the other girl's head. Like with Otto, she encouraged her to go and get some sleep before she straightening up and heading towards the blond boy. She offered Candace a tired smile and a nod of greeting before looking back to Gale. She reached out to give him a hug, though her movements were light and careful. "As you can see, I kept my promise about not dying. I see that you have too."
What a relief to see that the trainees had made it out. Otto, Wilson, Saya, Gale--...but where was Reine?

Dakota breathed in and then out. The wound at his side hurt as he made it through the portal after the Phoenix and stared.
Of course.
Of ******** course.
Chama shrilled in his mind, echoing in the very base of his skull,
Yeha he remembered that. Chama, if you don't mind...I'm tired and don't feel very well. He stumbled from the underground base portal and further in. He wanted to make sure his friends were alright of course, but at the moment, bleeding from the side like a dramatic fallen warrior (Hey this is his fantasy), He couldn't do anything more then fall face first on the ground.
"So...Tired...." He whined. He could hear Eva...Good, that was one of his friends. What about Reine? Marcus...There was Rep, He could see the Ginger now. Where was Molly? Clerise?....Harrison....Jordan.
"s**t man." He continued to lay there. "Just let me sleep and then I'll make sure you guys made it okay?" He sighed with exhaustion, his eyes shutting.
To most, he was like a annoying log in the middle of the floor (Was he lightly snoring too?). Please don't hesitate to kick his lifeless form out of the way....or step on him.

Candace could barely keep her eyes open. She was so tired. If it weren't for Gale pulling her along she would've been left way behind. Harrison..Jerry. Were they okay? Everything had been mass chaos; hunter attacking hunter, Halloween attacking Halloween, shouting and screaming fighting and just chaos. She lost track of everything and everyone. The only constant was Gale, little Gale who refused to let her go just as she refused to let him out of her sight. She couldn't protect everyone as much as that pained her to admit, but she could at least protect him. Her little Gale.
Her grip on Gale's hand tightened as a whisper fluttered through her head. What was it saying? It wasn't Atropos; Candace was used to Atropos' voice. It sounded..mocking? But who was...what?
"but for myself, I'll be taking a shower and a nap." That voice drew her attention away from her confusion, looking up and watching the doctor with a tired expression. A shower and a nap sounded amazing. A real shower and a real nap. No, not a nap. She wanted to sleep an entire ******** week. She also wanted to hug him, to hold him and give herself physical confirmation he was real and alive, not just seeing him.
"Doct--" Gale's quiet voice cut her off and she looked down, slightly dismayed but mostly startled. What now..? Um...
What to do...well, there were several things Candace wanted to do.
Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep some more. Shower. Eat. Maybe shower again. Sleep maybe. Then make the rounds of making sure everyone was okay. Every single person, even if she disliked them.
"I'm..going to sleep." Candace replied, sounding exhausted. "...I should get a shirt, first." That would make sense. She pouted.
