The royal cooks place!

Finvara was grateful for the ride out of the forest. She had forgotten how deep the waterfall was into the woods. When he pulled his steed up just outside the kitchens, Finvara slid off the horse. "Um," she started, almost uncertain of what to say. She curtsied before looking back up at him. "Thank you so much for the ride home, Sir Stormcloud," she said, smiling up at him. "Is there any way I can repay you for your kindness?"

Azen Stormcloud
Knight

Azen was sitting on his horse, thinking for a moment as Finvara asked him what she could do to repay his kindness. Azen, after a few moments of thinking, dismounted his horse and tied it up to a post near the kitchen's entrance. "Perhaps it would be alright if I stayed a night with you, and maybe keep you company for the rest of the day? I haven't been with any commoners as of late, and I do not want to grow distant with the commoner populace." he asked and explained. He thought for a bit more before saying, "And don't worry. The armor stays on, so you're safe."

Finvara nodded before he finished. "Of course, M'Lord," she replied with a kind smile. "If you come around with me to the side, there's a small stable to keep your horse. That's where I keep mine." She didn't like keeping her silver mare in the main castle stable. It was much too inconvenient for when she went hunting at night. She laughed a bit at his last statement. "But that armor can't be comfortable to sleep in," she said, on a serious note. "Have you not anything else to wear?" She hoped at the very least he would keep his helmet off while he stayed. "Use anything you need here," she said, leading him to the stable. "Just come on inside when you're done. I'm going to change out of these clothes.

She left the knight at the stable, confused at the turn of evens. A knight? Requesting to stay in the kitchen of all places? Though she wasn't sure if the way he kept mentioning the fact that she was a "commoner" bugged her or not. She shook her head, telling herself not to think too much in it, that that was the way he was raised, and continued to change. She put on her usual gear, which didn't consist of petty coats and long skirts. She felt so much better. She then went into the kitchen and began to prep for the Royal's evening meal while she waited on Azen.

Azen Stormcloud
Knight

Azen grinned beneath the visor of his helmet as she asked about his armor. "Of course, if you're fine with it, I'll take it off. I'll just need help putting it back on. And I tend to sleep in the clothes I'm wearing right now since it's easier and saves time should combat arise." he said. Afterwards, he took off his helmet and carried it around as he entered the kitchen, taking a gander at the people at work. He walked around, observing the kitchen and nodding to himself. The Royal Kitchen is surely more interesting than the kitchen back at the Stormcloud Castle. Azen spotted Finvara as she prepared the Royal's evening meal. Azen decided it would be proper if he were to stay in the kitchen and not reveal himself to the Royal Family, as they would surely question his motive for being in the kitchen in the first place, something that escaped his mind at the moment.

Well of course, it wasn't like he was nude underneath his armor. "I can help you with whatever you need," she said, scrapping some chopped vegetables into a pot. It always seemed as though she was working in a frenzy when she was preparing meals, but in truth, that was just the way she did things. She called out a few orders to her helpers, and while the pot stewed, she walked over to the knight who was sitting at a table by the door and hopped up on the counter. "I don't believe I've seen you around here before," she observed, taking him in now that his helmet was off. He had striking eyes and lovely dark hair, she thought. "What brings you to the Kingdom, if you don't mind me asking?" She gripped the sides of the counter where she sat, looking down at him.

Azen Stormcloud
Knight

Azen was watching the kitchen then he was approached by Finvara. "I am not from here, I'm afraid. I hail from the East." Azen said then pondered a bit on the second question. He had been engrossed in the activities going on in the kitchen that he was lost in thought for a while. "I am accompanying Malcolm Stuart, a noble from the South. I believe he's here for the Prince's wedding." explained Azen. He then fully noticed that her head was a magnificent shade of red. Something absent from the lands of the East.

Finvara let out a "Hmm…" when he said he was from the East. He wouldn't be staying long, then. But he would be around for the wedding festivities, and she found herself very happy about that. There was something about him that she liked. He wasn't overly eager. In fact, he wasn't eager at all. He had been kind and respectful to her since the minute she ran into him. And he requested to spend the evening with her, rather than a noble woman or one of the princess's pretty little handmaids. "Oh, I see," she said, nodding. "Well, welcome," she said with a smile. "I hope you enjoy your stay." She flashed another smile before hopping off of the counter to go turn the boar that was roasting on a pike over a large fire.

"Ollie!" A bald man with a big belly came hurrying over to her. "Would you be a dear and turn this for a little while? Just for a minute. And make sure you stop when his belly is in the air. Do you understand?" she asked him with a kind smile. He nodded and set to work. She grinned, walking back over to the knight. She really did love her helpers. "Is there anything I can get you, M'Lord? A goblet of wine? Bread and cheese?" she offered him, still smiling.

Azen Stormcloud
Knight

Azen watched as Finvara went to stir the boar and called a helper to do it, then when she came back, asking him what he could offer her, he replied, "I'm more of a meat person, and if you don't have anything else other than alcohol, I guess I have no choice." The knight, despite being of noble birth, responded quite humbly.

"Well, I mean, I'm an open kitchen, especially to knights, " decent knights she thought, "and wine is merely the drink of choice to the older nobles around here who like to raid the kitchens at night. Forgive me, it was only mentioned by habit. Perhaps some milk or water?" She was drowning here, trying to think of other things to talk about. She wasn't used to entertaining anyone other than Ewan who pretty much entertained himself on his own.

Alice walked into the kitchen slowly. She wasn't in her knight wore but she walked like any knight would. She was still as jumpy as she could be but she smiled at all those she could see and sat down. Hoping that she had been noticed, by someone who could tell her what she needed to do and who she needed to speak to about becoming Knight. "Umm I am very sorry to interupt but I am rather new here and was wonder wher eI might find the Grand Knight or the head Knight.. My name is Alyss Myss... Daughter of Sir Holden De Ware.."

The route to the kitchen was surprisingly difficult to navigate. The corridors resembled a labyrinth, splitting frequently and occasionally ending abruptly to a recently constructed wall that always left Ewan frustrated as he wandered to find a new route to the kitchen. Luckily, such frivolous construction hadn't been performed for several months and Ewan secretly believed the mysterious stone mason had barricaded himself behind one of his own walls. Such thoughts had prevented him from ravishing random women at dead ends in case a haunting voice whispered through the walls asking for water. His unfounded fear wasn't well developed, but he carried around a flask of water at his side at all times as a good conversation starter. Water was what the women believed was inside, at least.

He heard the unfamiliar voices before rounding the corner to enter the kitchen. A woman sat at the table, clad in armor with hair a slightly different shade of red than Finvara's. The cook, on the hand, sat atop a counter with another knight also in full armor (though obviously male) positioned in front of her. Jealousy stirred in the pit of Ewan's stomach, rising quickly to tighten his vocal chords and prevent them from forming surprise accusations. Ewan held no claim to Finvara, at least not one that she consented to, but seeing Finvara likely flirting with the kitchen newcomer evoked such deep emotion that it took all his will power from walking forward and striking the knight to make his brain rattle under his raven-dark hair.

"Who are you?" Ewan asked dryly to the knight at first, but realized he'd have to play the game more carefully if he wanted to get Finvara's attention back. "You have lovely red hair," he said to the new woman sitting at the kitchen table. "Alyss, I think I heard as I walked in?"

Alyss nodded and blushed slightly at the male. Taking off her armor and setting it down on the table she smiled. "I am Alyss Myss, I am rather new here and just trying to find the head Knight and report.." Her tone was rather quiet and her body language showed her fear of people and shyness outside of battle. Her blade at her side was of Moonlit Silver and was extremely rare. it was agift from a person she has yet to meet. Glancing down at it and back to the male she stood and bowed lightly. "Mayhap you can help me.."

Azen Stormcloud
Knight

Azen came to decide on water, and promptly told Finvara his choice. Striking a conversation was difficult since he was from a secretive family, and hardly did he hold a conversation but with his own men in battle or in camp. It was just hard for him to treat Finvara to be a battle veteran and talk to her as such, so he was at a loss of words. When Alyss Myss, Daugter of Sir Holden De Ware, entered, Azen stood up and bumped his fist to his chestplate in acknowledgement, but then came another man, who threw such a demanding question and he knew he would have to treat him as a noble, for him to be speaking with such an authoritative air. "Head of the Stormcloud family from the East. I am Azen Stormcloud, son of Lann Stormcloud. And you are?" demanded Azen with the same authoritative air that Ewan asked him.

Everything seemed to happen at once. Alyss walked in and Finvara supposed she thought this was the Knight's Quarter for some odd reason, which it certainly was not. In all honesty, she never really allowed anyone in her kitchen, except for Ewan and now Azen. Ewan would never listen if she told him to scram, and Azen had just shown her kindness by escorting her back to her domain.

Finn rolled her eyes when Ewan all of a sudden got protective of her. She could tell what was going on in his head, and from the tone in which he was interrogating, she suspected jealousy. But from what? "Oh, for Christ's sake," she sighed when he testosterone battle began, her kitchen gone to hell, and slid Azen a glass of water. "Alyss, dear, the Knight's Quarter is on the other side of of the castle grounds," she added wearily as she walked back over to her pot of stew. There went getting to know the knight, Azen. However, she was certain that with Ewan here now, things weren't going to be boring...
