37 riders. He had the command of a wing of 37 riders, experienced and inexperienced both. The first task after W'lin had finally given him the names of those assigned to his wing had been to see which names he recognized and which he would have to become familiar with. Thankfully, he did recognize a handful, at least. Dezima, F'law, F'itz, Analyssa. A few of the older riders were known to him or passing acquaintances. Not many, of course, but some. From there, he had met his Wingsecond-- the Wingsecond had made that easy for him, at least in theory-- and they had planned the first meeting of the wing. Few places indoors would be large enough for their entire wing to meet, so that left the Bowl. Not that that would be a problem for any; if anything, it would be better to meet where the dragons had free access to the conversation and could hear him with their own ears instead of just through their riders'.

He had made an announcement the day before the meeting was to take place, passing the instructions along through Tyeth and trying to let as many riders as he could find know in a face-to-face meeting that a mandatory gathering would be taking place as well.

Now, the time was here. N'mol surveyed the dragons around the Bowl, those not in their weyrs, and caught sight of Wi'vren, his second, striding toward him. He nodded at the slightly older man as he reached him. At least they had seemed to work out the majority of Wi'vern's misgivings-- or had set them aside for later judgement, at least.

"Good morning, Wi'vren."

"Wingleader N'mol," Wi'vren replied, a smile quirking his lips slightly. "At your signal?"

N'mol nodded. It was time. Call them, please, Ty. I don't want anyone to forget.

Positioned behind his rider, Tyeth arched his neck proudly and then bugled so that it echoed off of the walls of the Bowl.

The presence of all riders in the Dawn Fliers is requested in the Weyr Bowl for the first instructional meeting. All riders must attend.

F'law, like every adult rider surely had, had been keeping an ear out for the announcement of the new wings. He had taken it in stride when Zurith informed him a drudge had left a list on his table. Curiously, he had gone to his main room and investigated the hide. "It's the new wing listings." He scanned the list quickly.

"Hmmmmmm. It says our wing is the Dawn Fliers. Wingleader is N'mol, with Wingsecond Wi'vren. I don't know him." Looks like we'll be meeting soon, he thought wirely, not entirely sure what to think of the wingsecond. N'mol might be ok, as long as he didn't let his new power go to his head.

The dark blue lifted his head and peered into the main room as he relayed the message. Mine, Tyeth wishes all riders to meet in the Weyr Bowl. The location caused dismay in the bluerider. The Weyr Bowl? Couldn’t they have the meeting somewhere else? Like inside. We will have to fly sometime Mine. I will not let you fall into the sky, the dark blue encouraged His. F’law nodded. Even after all this time the wide, and very much open, sky still bothered him. Some dragonrider I make when I’d rather spend my time in the bowels of the Weyr.

With a chirp, Onyso flew over and landed on a padded shoulder. He was going to! F’law patted the small black flit and walked through the tunnels toward the bowl. Leaving Zurith to glide down from his weyr and meet him. While hitching a ride might have been faster, he preferred to use that means as a last resort. Meeting up with the dark blue, F’law stuck close to the dragon’s bulk; using it to shield as much of the sky from himself as he could. He made his way out into the bowl; where he nodded a polite greeting to N’mol and Wi’vren.

She had to admit, she was excited for all that had changed. In regards to the Wings anyways. Dezima had faith that N'mol would be an excellent wingleader! And the fact he was someone she knew fairly well and Tyeth was from Microth's clutch only added to that certainty. She grinned at her lifemate, finishing getting ready for the day as the green idly watched.

"Ready for our first meeting?" The greenrider teased her bonded, stretching her arms out in front of her.

Microth snorted in amusement, itching her nose along a foreleg. I am as ready as you are, Dezimine! Raising to her feet, both dragon and rider were just getting ready to head towards the Weyr Bowl themselves when Microth paused, head tilted. She blinked before lowering her head to Dezima.

Tyeth calls for us. They are ready for everyone's presence. The greens soft tones held an air of excitement about them as well.

"Awesome! Let's not keep N'mol waiting!"

The two made good time in heading to the Weyr Bowl. Microth's tail flicked from side to side like a felines might as she followed her rider towards the bronze pair. Dezima grinned, glancing around them before offering their new wingleader a small bow when they were closer. "Greetings, N'mol! Tyeth. We've come as requested." She looked over at another familiar pair. "And hello to you too, F'law!"

Greetings, Tyeth. Zurith. Microth said warmly to the other dragons.

B'as grumbled, he'd been enjoying the comforts of a lovely young woman when Milnth had ever so 'politely' informed him that his newest Wingleader had called a Wing meeting, Milnth had done so by sticking his nose through the door and blowing out a deep breath which absolutely reeked. "Dragonbreath" he mumbled as he mounted Milnth for faster transport down to the meeting. It wrankled that the Wingleader was so much younger than him.

When he reached the ground B'nas dismounted and gave Milnth an affectionate slap "He is young but he knows what he's doing, otherwise he wouldn't have been chosen as Wingleader B'nasmine" B'nas glared at his dragon who, wisely, was already withdrawing to gather with the other dragons with a loud and amused rumble. "Wingleader, Wingsecond" he said as he reached them. Milnth giving a mental snort at the use of their titles alone, instead of their names as well. He had more of a smile towards the greenrider though, she had the potential of someone he may end up in bed with, being a Greenrider so he had a little more affection in his tone when greeting her "Greenrider, a pleasure" he said.

He leaned his back against Zurith's foreleg. With the dragon behind him providing a large bulk, it was tolerable. F'law scratched Onyso under the chin while waiting. A greenrider then a brownrider joined in. He gave a qiuet nod to both thought the latter didn't seem to notice him.

Zurith rumbled softly. Hello Microth.

Dezima glanced at the rider that arrived just behind her. He wasn't someone she knew and looked to be one of the older riders. Older, in her mind, meaning 'not one of those that impressed with her'. He earned a grin, though it was a little on the shy side. Not that Dezima ever missed an opportunity to meet someone new! And, of course, she missed any underlying hints that might have been in his tone as he greeted them all.

"Pleasure to meet you as well, Brownrider!" She stuck out a hand to shake, if he was inclined to do so. "I'm Dezima of Microth. Guess we'll be getting to know one another a bit more, won't we? Being in the same Wing and all."

The green dragon trilled in a soft and pleasant manner to the other dragons. I hope you and yours have been well, Zurith. Microth settled herself comfortably, welcoming any of the other dragons that wished to join her.

And hello to you as well. She added in politely to the brown that had just arrived.

F'itz and Brumath had not been elected wingseconds, a fact that Brumath was neutral about and F'itz was ambivalent to. The age of the wingleader pair he ended up assigned to had got a raise of his eyebrows, but N'mol certainly had the temperament for it and the boy had made a very good speech. Perhaps some youthful passion would work well at the helm, tempered by Wi'vren's greater experience of course.

On the whole, F'itz felt, it could have been far worse.

said Brumath, a faintly amused tone to his mental voice. he does not measure up he shall be removed by death or vote. One hopes that he does measure, however, lest the former remove us first.>

"Mmmmh." Said F'itz, fastening Brumath's riding straps and climbing up onto his back. he elaborated.

Swooping off their ledge and down towards the meeting point, Brumath addressed Tyeth;

A few riders trickled in at first, and then a deluge fell for a short while as many of the new members of the Dawn Fliers arrived. N'mol saw an assortment of faces: old, young, curious, pleasant, skeptical, downright dismissive. He would win them all over in time-- or force them to accept his leadership.

N'mol shook the rather Tyeth-esque thought from his mind and focused on those who were calling greetings as they arrived. He nodded in reply to F'law, then smiled as Dezima-- typically bubbly-- arrived.

Tyeth rumbled pleasantly at Microth and her greeting. Hello, Microth. It is admirable that you and your rider are here so quickly. Welcome to you as well, Zurith.

"Good morning, Dezima. Thank you for being so prompt." He glanced beyond her as a Brownrider arrived, sensing the first potentially combative rider arriving. Partly for his rank, and partly for the attitude he displayed as he approached and greeted them.

"Brownrider," N'mol replied in as even a tone as the man had used. He was not ignorant of the way the man blossomed at the sight of a Greenrider, nor how easily he moved on from addressing his leaders. Test one.

Tyeth watched Brumath fly in, his eyes whirling green, and dipped his head in acknowledgement of Brumath's report. Greetings, Brumath. Your appearance is well-timed.

"Since it appears," N'mol glanced up as he saw another Brown incoming and had Brumath's identity confirmed by Tyeth, "That almost all have gathered who are going to be on time, you'll have to save your conversation for later." He smiled apologetically at Dezima and then he was all business, his eyes sweeping over his wing and counting those who had arrived. F'itz was just dismounting. He eyed the older man for a moment, wondering how he felt about being assigned to the Dawn Fliers, but then nodded once and refocused himself. He almost thought he could feel Wi'vren staring at the back of his head.

"All right!" he called, so he could be heard above any who were chatting while waiting for the meeting to begin. "Thank you all for coming so promptly! I spoke with most of you yesterday about the meeting, but it's gratifying to know that you all know the value and necessity of being on time." He smiled, half-joking with them. "Since we are a new wing, we have a few things we need to work out and a few announcements that need to be made. Everyone should move to somewhere where they can hear me. If anyone knows any of the missing riders, please try to have your dragon contact them. No one should miss this meeting."
