Ryder has a tendency to go with the flow and accept most of what life gives him. He takes most comments and insults with a grain of salt and is incredibly difficult to offend in social situations. However, do to this, he tends to leave decisions up to others as he simply doesn't care one way or the other most of the time. This can be a little frustrating as it means he rarely provides input for anything and hardly ever takes sides in anything.

As can be seen by his ink, clothing, hair, and general views towards the world, Ryder is a rather creative person. He doodles, writes, composes, and generally submerges himself in the arts more often than not when he has free time. Many have suggested that he pick one to be a professional at but he has a tendency to flip flop between them all and no one project holds his attention for very long. His creativity also causes his actions and morals to be slightly... Different from those of others. His views when it comes to controversial topics or just general behavior have a tendency to be far outside the norm, though it's difficult to tell if that's how he really feels or if he's simply trying to be a nonconformist.

If there's one thing that Ryder values above everything else it's friendship. He is extremely loyal to those he calls his friends and will not hesitate to get into a physical altercation in order to defend their honor or well being. Unfortunately he may be a little too willing to defend others, and will not hesitate to guilt others into doing the same for him when he needs it, whether they actually needed to backup or not. Ryder demands that if he has your back, you have his. Anything less than that and he will break off the friendship, feeling betrayed, and move on to the next person. This ensures that he's always surrounded by people that will help him out, despite how he got them to be there for him.

If somehow you do manage to get on Ryder's bad side, his temper is fierce, fast burning, and violent. When under the influence of said temper he will not hesitate to throw punches or say uncharacteristically cruel things to whoever he's angry with. He also has a tendency for lashing out blindly at anything that comes between him and his target and tends to forget about the things and people around him. Due to this it isn't difficult for him to get attacked or hurt if someone comes up behind him or he gets surrounded.

Ryder constantly needs something to occupy him otherwise he gets restless or agitated. When this does happen he has a tendency for ending up in fights or carving into either himself or tabletops. This leads a lot of people to think that he might secretly have some form of imbalance, but, really, he likes the way the scars he makes look when they heal. He'll also sometimes do graffiti or take a permanent marker to flat surfaces if they're available. This also explains why his clothing tends to be covered in patches, drawings, and, at times, embroidery.
