It was a few hours before sun set, a warm and mild sort of evening, and one that he hoped would make it easier to find what he was looking for, moon flowers. It was an interesting sort of flower that only bloomed at night, drawing in various night time bugs like moths in with their sweet scent. Uaithne knew that it might be difficult to bring something like that home with him, they were climbing, clinging flowers after all, but it wouldn't stop him from seeking them out even if it were just for a little peek, "Even a peek would be more then worth this trip." He murmured to himself, not that he didn't come prepared. On his back was his normal traveling pack, filled with the various supplies that he needed when it came to transplanting flowers from the wild and into the pots that he also carried with him. He had a little shovel, a flask of water, some plant food, along with those pots, all of it ready for when he found a plant that he just had to bring home with him.

For now though he hadn't seen anything that he wanted to bring with him that he didn't already have with him, was to big to transplant, or was up and out of reach in the place it was growing. He'd found himself standing there and starring at a rather neat looking flower that was blooming in the cracks of a rock that was high up and out of his reach earlier, trying to figure out how to get the plant to come to him... when he realized that it was a lost cause he'd given up on it though sadly before moving on. Perhaps he would go back for that rather interesting plant, one had to respect something growing out of it's element like that he thought to himself before he gave pause, looking from side to side, then set to sniffing at the air, "Ahh... is that it?" He murmured, a curious sound in his voice. There was a sweet scent lingering in the air that made him wonder if it were the moon flowers he was seeking out. He was about to say that it was a little early for it, the sun was still up, but the trees in this area were thick enough to hold back a lot of the dimming light making it appear later then it was in spots. Perhaps the flowers were in those areas and as such were blooming early?

"I really hope it's them." He said, shifting his pack on his shoulder so that he could move forward toward the sweet scent at a quicker pace. He was so eager to sleep the elusive and sweet scented lunar blossoms that he didn't seem to noticed all that much else around... other then perhaps the plants in his path. It was almost comical to see him hop over then and dodge around them, not wanting to step on a one of them. It would be rather mean of him after all to stomp on one plant when he was trying to seek out another, "Woah! Excuse me!" He squeak out as he stumbled to avoid a flower that was closing up for the night, nearly stepping on it but was able to avoid it though just barely. Uaithne glanced over his shoulder to make sure the sleeping plant was alright before continuing on his way, getting ever closer to the flowers he was seeking.

Vin hated the summer months. It was always too hot to enjoy a nice relaxing walkin the woods even with the trees in full spread to block out the sun. So the snow mononoke had waited until nearly sunset to set out on his evening stroll. Being raised by a druid made forests a place of calm and serenity, something he greatly treasured. Perhaps even the beast in him enjoyed getting out into the wilds, escaping the bustle of the city.

All Vin carried with him was a bottle of water. He could use his own powers to cool it should he need a refreshing drink. He knew all the places berries and other such things grew so should he require a snack it was available to him. Barefooted as always he took a deep breath in, letting the smell of fresh earth and plants give him a sense of peace.

The white haired wtich continued down his own path, keeping an eye for landmarks to use to return home. His pace was slow and easy, he always enjoyed his walk. Suddenly he heard a rustling, like something was running. He glanced up, wondering if he had perhaps startled something. But it was a bit farther off. He heard no tell tale growling so it wasn't a predator. The white male decided to sit and let the animal pass, whatever it was.

His appearance had a bad habit of startling animals, which could turn and attack if the felt threatened so he decided to get off the ground. Vinteren hopped up into a tree, climbing a natural ability of his being an ermine mononoke, and sat next to a sweet smelling vine flower. There, he waited until the creature passed him.

Uaithne slowed down his speed quite a bit as he spotted the flowers that he was looking for, his bright green eyes getting wide, and he gave a soft gasp. The flowers seemed to be so bright in the darkening forest, a luminous white that almost made the flower seem as if it were glowing. On top of that it smelled so sweet that it was bale to easily draw the Majin forward toward it. Looking the flowers up and down with much interest, seeming to be so completely enthralled with them that he missed the fact that he wasn't alone, he gave the plant a smile, "Wow! There you are, Moon Flower. I have been looking everywhere for you." He said in a manner that made it seem as though he had been made so happy just by being so lucky as to see these particular flowers. He'd wanted to see them for some time now, ever since he'd run across them in one of the heavy tomes on plants that he was constantly borrowing from the library. Reaching a hand out he brushed it against one of the flowers ever so gentle before leaning over to inhale the scent it deeply before giving a happy sound, "Wonderful."

Taking a step back before squatting down the Majin set to work studying the structure of the plant, "I wonder, do you have any smaller sections?" Looking at the plant, and the way that it was climbing up along the trunk of the tree, wondering if there was a way that he could bring some of the plant home. It was doing it's best to get higher up and closer to the sparse light that came down between the branches of the tree and given how tangled it was it would be rather difficult to take a piece of it home, wouldn't it? A shame since he really, really liked this plant but then again he didn't want to cause it any damage, that would be selfish of him. On top of that he didn't have the best place to grow this sort of plant either, did he? At least not at the moment and not while he was staying, that being in a small room while he was going about his schooling at the academy, "I think I will hold off for now and see about coming back when I am ready to go home, I bet I have a nice place there to plant something with your needs." He'd need to build a trellis for it to climb on as well as find a nice spot where it would be able to find a lot of moon light to drink in to help it grow big and strong.

Rising back to his feet he watched the plant a moment more, then gave a little smile as he watched as moths of various size, color, and shape started to fluttered around the moon flowers, seeming to be as interested in them as he was if not more so. He took a couple steps back so that he wouldn't be in the way of them, knowing that their presence helped to pollinate the plants. Best he stand back and watch he thought to himself with a smile.

Vin watched in complete confusion as the green haired boy enetered the clearing and began....talking....to....the plant? The boy spoke to it like it was a long lost lover whom had disppeared and now was found again. Or was that too over romantized?

Now granted he was somewhat use to it because of the druid who raised him. But this guy took it to a new level. He was so surprised by it he didn't even say anything when the male began climbing all around him.

Finally he snapped out of his stupor. The boy was now watching moths. This was just kinda weird. The white witch slipped down the tree, obviously in view of the green haired boy now.

"Do you always talk to plants? Or is this one just special?" the Mononoke raised a fluffy white eyebrow at Uaithne. His small tail in the back wiggled a bit.

A little startled Uaithne took a couple steps back as the mononoke came down from the tree before he found himself looking up at it. How many times was he startled by other witches and witchlings coming down from the trees in front of him? Really he did need to work on upping his awareness when it came to what all was going on around him instead of always being startled he thought to himself. When he realized the guy was talking to him he did his best to pay attention before he realized that once again he'd been caught talking to the plants... oops. He must appear as foolish to those around him he thought to himself for a moment before he allowed his gaze to go back to the plants, "It is special but I talk to most of them." He murmured quietly, instantly seeming as if he found it more difficult to speak to others, human and majin alike, then it was to talk to plants. It was the fault of how he had been raised, separate from others because his Grannie didn't trust them around him always afraid he might be killed for being what he was. It left him with far to much time on his hands normally spent with his floral friends.

"I... came out looking for this for this one... it blooms only at night." He explained, forcing his voice to work and forced his eyes to look at the mononoke instead of away from him as he didn't want to appear as rude. There were mononoke at school, and he'd talked with one of them before in the past, and yet he couldn't help but to always be fascinated by them at a glance. It was those normally fluffy features that they possessed. They were something he hadn't seen back home, because never had a mononoke ventured close to their home, and as such he couldn't help but to still hold a somewhat childlike curiosity about them. At least this time he kept himself for chirping about how the guy had fluffy ears this time... unlike the first time he'd met one of this man's kind. How embarrassing had that been? Recalling himself, as well as the idea of manners he said, "And what brings you out to the woods this evening?" He asked, trying to keep conversation going even if it weren't his strong suit.

Vin observed the surprised look on the boy's face. He couldn't tell if it was just because he hadn't seen the mononoke or if he was surprised at his appearance in general. Usually he got scared or startled reactions from people so he just naturally assumed it was that.

"Jarren talked to plants to. Just not so....personally I guess," he said matter of factly. The druid was connected to his forest of course so he greeted each tree like an old friend. Vin never particularly understood. Jarren said it was alright as most of the plants did not care for the cold based magic user. Cold and snow killed them or put them into their winter sleep. Vin looked at the plant the boy mentioned.

"Oh yeah, I've seen it a few times. Never noticed it only blooming now, " he looked back with his dark black eyes at the question. "I always walk at night, it's cooler. My magic is snow and ice based so I don't like the heat or sun. I'm Vinteren by the way."

Uaithne couldn't help but to find himself to actually be reassured at the mention of Jarren who also talked to plants. It was always nice to know that there were others out there that talked to plants as well, it made him feel a lot less strange, "I... well they were my only friends when I was younger." He explained, wanting the other to understand why he talked with the plants in such a personal manner... though upon saying it that made him sound as though he were a little lonely when he was little, didn't it? Something that wasn't exactly the truth since he'd had his Grannie then. He gave a bit of a smile and waved his hand, "I mean... ahh..." He trailed off, unable to really think on how to explain away what he'd said very well without digging himself a bigger hole. Instead it seemed that he was able to move away from that topic when the mononoke continued speaking.

"Snow and ice magic? That sounds interesting." He said, glad for the change of conversation, not to mention that he was always interested in learning about the different magics that the witches around him used. Seeing the magic of others always got him excited to try to practice his own magic wanting to get better and better at it so that he was ready come the day that he went to face the trials of the Grave of Fairies, "What sorts of things can you do with magic like that?" He asked of the other witch, sounding quite curious about what he might be able to do. He was almost tempted to ask to see what it was that he could do but figured that it wasn't exactly polite to ask such a thing and the cold might aggravate the flowers that he'd come so far to see.

When the mononoke introduced himself Uaithne was pulled back to the present as well as made to recall himself and his manners, "Vinteren? It's nice to meet you Vinteren, my name is Uaithne." He said, giving the pale colored witch a smile before holding out a hand to him.

Vin listened to the boy ramble a moment. He seemed to be a lonely sort. Then again he was no one to judge. He had few friends and even those he somewhat kept at a distance. He had been alone when under Jarren's watch, his only friends being the animals of the forest. The kids at the small twon he grew up near always avoided him. He was strange looking with his overly white hair, pale skin, and black eyes. Some felt he was a monster.

"Its alright I suppose. Not too good in the heat thought," he stepped completely down from the tree and leaned against the trunk, "Well I can make a room cold. Create ice," he held out his hand and made an ice dagger, "I can even incase myself in ice as protection." He twirled the shard of sharp ice before placing it by the roots. As it melted it would water the tree.

He reached out to shake the boy's hand. His own was pale, almost cream colored, with long nails that were black like claws. His touch was cold but the warmth of life under it. "So do you possess nature magic? I would assume your affenity to plants would predispose you to it."

Uaithne listened with open ears and curiosity as the witch explained to him what he could do with his powers, all things that sounded as though they would be useful enough... though not exactly to Uaithne personally since he was always hanging out amongst the flowers and too much cold did nothing but harm to most of them or, in the case of those that could deal with the cold, they were put into a sort of sleeping state, "It sounds like an interesting skill set." He said, giving a smile.

When the two of them shook hands the green haired Majin couldn't help but to marvel over the fact that Vinteren seemed to be cool to the touch, then again he had just been handling that ice dagger he reminded himself as their shake ended, "Yes, I am working hard on getting better it." He said, giving a smile. Of course it seemed that every time he went to the library to take out books to aid in his studies that he would find a new species of plant that he needed to hunt down causing him to forget about the reason that he'd went to the library in the first place. Still, he felt as if he were slowly getting better at what he was doing. He would only know when he went on to attempt the Grave of Fairies he supposed, "I am able to help plants, as well as seeds, to grow more quickly, as well as bigger then usual... though it only works on smaller plants at the moment." He'd tried, and failed, on many occasions to effect the growth of a tree. The trees weren't having it. It was either due to them being so set in their ways that they refused the help in growing or it was because he was too weak to effect something so old. Either way he meant to keep trying.

Giving a bit of a soft laugh he said, "I have a rather over sized dandelion at home that grew a bit bigger then intended when I was practicing my magic on it." If any plant was all for allowing him to give out help it was those that most people, though never Uaithne who was never biased with plants, would consider weeds.

As Vin spoke he saw the other was generally interested in his abilities. Even after giving demonstrations he seemed approving of his cold abilities. Few nature themed witches liked him, more than one garden had frozen because he had gotten mad. Not that he had done it on purpose, normally he was provoked. Looking the way he did was not the best way to make friends.

"It is helpful when winter comes. I plan to join the reapers so I need a good skill set to battle Witch Eaters," the mononke said. He didn't care if others knew his plans for the future. He hated Witch Eaters, they all needed to be wiped out! Even now he could hear his mother's screams all those years ago. But now was not the time to think of such things. He was trying to be social, which had been encouraged of him by his adoptive father. "I've already started practicing there."

Vin remembered the first time he had been allowed into the training area of the Reaper's home. It had felt both amazing and frightening at the same time. Here he would train to realize his dream, where his skills would improve and make him strong against those that would steal the hearts of witches everwhere if it weren't for their protectors. Vin could easily also join the Cerebus Knights but he felt they were too passive agressive. The Blackhearts did what needed to be done, even if it was unpleasent. In nature, you could not show mercy. Nature did not.

While Vin had often spoken of his plans he had yet to think that some people he spoke to might be Majin. Such a decloration could have scared off many potential friends. But Vin did not hate Majin, he was wary of them as they could turn but he did not hate them for how they were born. He would consider himself a complete hypocrite if he did so, as he was considered a monster by some just for his looks.

Uaithne felt his heart skip a beat when the other mentioned that he planned to join the Reapers and that he needed a good skill set to battled Witch Eaters. He starred at him for a moment, trying to figure out what it was that he should say next since he didn't want to give away at all what he was before he finally said, "I haven't exactly thought about what I would do once I get out of school... given the choices I have read about I am thinking of trying to follow the path of an Ars Lilium." He said, it sounded like a wonderful sort of path, one where you even got a personal companion that would stay at your side called a Hallow. It interested him, "It sounds like a lot a lot of work though, it will mean even more practice on my part."

When Vin mentioned he already started practicing there he gave a smile, "I wish you good luck on your path." As much as the idea of this seemingly nice person become something as scary as a Reaper made him want to flee in the other direction he saw no reason to warn him off his path or even not wish him luck. It was worrisome, but he hoped that there would be no reason for him to fear Vin, he wasn't a Witch Eater after all and after a rather disastrous ball that he'd been to in the past he never wanted to even come close to being one of those. At this point he wasn't sure which was scarier, a Witch Eater or a Reaper. It was pretty much a toss up at the moment, "You will have to tell me how things are going in your training if and when we meet up again." He said, deciding that he would root for Vin, though at a safe distance from him and the scythe he would eventually get.
