The loud crackle and then shrieking of noises overhead as well as the blast of humid, warm air reconfirmed that the trainees were back in a very familiar location.
Several tents were set up, and the entire place was rather busy, the main activity centered around the portal roughly twenty feet to the left of where the trainees stood. Most Hunters still mingling around were busy restocking supplies: exchanging worn bandages for new ones, grabbing several Runic items, weapons, scanners, into their packs. They moved quickly, though it made more sense once trainees caught a glimpse of who was supervising.
And by supervising, it really meant angrily explaining to a cowering Death Hunter why their entire charted map of glyphs was aligned wrongly and most likely something about how they should just put themselves out of their misery on the spot instead of being such an immense failure - it was hard to tell over the noise of everything else.
It wasn't until Clarice appeared with the medical team and the trainees in hand that Caelius, if possible, radiated even more vibes of what could only be assumed as hateful hatred or spitefulness, or a combination of both: the look he gave the trainees was pretty much a the standard 'And now we get to waste more supplies, since for some godforsaken reason they managed to survive, again.'
"Clarissa." Note how far he was actually standing away from the Life Assistant. "Supervise the trainees in preparations. They have thirty minutes until departure."
OOC GETTING SET UP:To attempt to obtain this off the mount of supplies on the tables, roll 1d6 and match your roll to what you obtain. You can only roll two times. If you roll the same thing, you get duplicates of that item. - Make sure when using these items later on that you quote their effect so everyone knows - You CAN TRADE ITEMS, quote them and rp out the trade. Rolling a 1: Runic Bandages, can roll 2d20 to use for healing, one time use. Rolling a 2: Standard barrier dagger (no restriction access needed), roll 2d20 to defend you and TWO OTHER TARGETS FOR THAT VALUE for a turn. One time use. Rolling a 3: Modified Fear scanner, can trace a Fear-based opponent's Fear attack before they attack, increasing a Hunter's dodge rate. For the next turn, your Hunter has no MISS value, that means you do not need to subtract -6 from your Hunter's attack. One time use. Rolling a 4: Communications device, as cell phones do not work to wherever the trainees are traveling, this is the only way for two trainees to get in contact with each other. Rolling a 5: Fear charge packet, a small device that when used on your weapon, automatically gives it a Fear charge instead of having to charge the weapon. Can only be used once, counts as one of your charged attacks. Rolling a 6: Modified pendant: can warp you and EVERYONE ELSE WITHIN 5 METERS OF YOUR VICINITY to a designated area. Designated areas later will be revealed. You can do this as many times as you like, but should not warp in the middle of battle.

Oh goodie.
Caelius. Caelius seemed to be his good ol' not-so-cheerful angry self that liked to yell, leer, and make disapproving faces at everybody. How adorable. It was like he'd never left. Or they'd never left.
Or like he needed a pad or something. Did he need midol? She had that shoved into her bag because it was an amazing painkiller. Maybe it'd be too much for him, though. Kill him like the pain in the a** he was. Ha ha. Painkiller. Ohhhh man.
Still, the look on Caelius's face didn't seem to phase her. In fact, post the bruising-ritual, she seemed to have slowly worked her way down to a mutual 'it isn't pleasant' thing. Yes, she respected him. Yes, she'd thank him for his time when he gave it, but god damn if she didn't think he was a pain in her a**.
And her ribs.
She could swear she still had an unhealed bruise if that wasn't just highly unlikely.
Still, it seemed like they were going to be allowed to get supplies and restock a bit before they went moving on, so..... she wasn't going to waste that at all. Nope.

[ entering from antarctic portal ]
Thank the lord almighty and whatever other dieties there might be, it was warm and sunny. Ofelia practically whooped (she did actually, making a loud noise) ad she peeled her jacket from her shoulders and tied it about her waist as if it was there that it belonged the entire time. The end result of removing her jacket showed off her layers of bloody bandages (she looked like she was in a mummy costume) but whatever. It was warm, warm, warm and humid. It reminded Ofelia of home and she was practically in heaven.
Looking around she grinned and waved like an idiot to Cass, Rep, and Clerise, glad to see them. The warmth had really fixed her mood, it was like the events of the base she just left hadn't happened, and she skipped over to the supplies table in order to pick something up. Without even looking she managed to nab what appeared to be a phone. . . and her heart dropped. Ofelia with a phone was like a dog with a pair of shoes it did not make sense.
Maybe she'd get something better when she grabbed again.

As they wandered out of the portal, Rep found it very very difficult to hide his dismay. He'd been dreading that this would be their destination and it made it all the worse that it was. Even the bitter biting cold of the Antarctic was preferable to the suffocating mugginess, the horrible clammy air of a thousand bugs and animals. And the snakes. Snakes and lizards. He practically shivered as he felt like his skin wanted to slough off and crawl away.
He tried to distract himself by heading over to the nearest table and picking up one of the supplies they were meant to retrieve. A communicator seemed utterly ******** invaluable. So he could call for help when he no doubt inevitably got stranded in some other hellish ******** catacomb.
He was so going to die.

Clerise stepped through the portal, still not quite right in her state of mind post scalp-massage, and she hadn't bothered to put her hair back up. She watched with some amusement as Caelius avoided Clarice, lecturing them all. Yeah that's right, a*****e. You BE scared.Sighing, the redhead moved to collect some gear from the mountains of.. Of stuff. Well, she got a cool scanner-- hopefully it worked better than the last one. Dakota immediately felt the heat right down to his bones and decided to lose a few layers. Namely his shirt and undershirt....His hunter coat and Bandana stayed...as well as his pants and boots.
It was nice to be in the heat though.
Chama didn't flare up like a heater like when she did at the Anartica base, resuming a steady thrum against his leg. Almost like a cat purring.
"Yeah this is nice. Now let's see if I can convince-" Dakota blinked as he saw sir prissy pants of the Death leader club stalk over to them. Wow, didn't he just seemed all the pleased to see them. In fact, he looked almost sour at their survival. Tough s**t for the ol'death himself, Dakota wasn't going to his end anytime soon.
If it wasn't bad enough that Julie and H died, Dakota almost wished Caelius was next on the list. Especially since two fantastically better hunters had died before the king self pompous a**. His hand shook as he remembered the picture of the Julie snowmen, leaving her in the arctic, leaving her in the Sahara. Dakota knew he couldn't blame himself, wouldn't blame himself. This was war, and at the end of the day, those damned horsemen were going to be losing more of their clan then the hunters would.
Ignoring the death leader, he browsed over the supplies and picked up one of the Communication Devices and sighed. He needed to be able to chat and since it seemed Cell phones weren't going to work, these would be his life line to the other hunters.
Speaking of which, seeing as they were in the amazon, Dakota wanted to know if any of the more...blessed Huntress's were milling around. This was, after all...the birth place of female warriors. Go figure.

Wilson did not like humid. With some reluctance, he could take an abnormally-sunny day, but humid air? That was killer for the poor man. He stuck out his tongue and pulled at his hoodie the second he stepped out of the portal. Their superiors really wanted them to juggle between extreme weather conditions. Hot. Cold. Hot (humid) again. This base was busier than the rest, and a survey of the area quickly revealed the answer to the trainee: Caelius. He grimaced, turning his head slightly away from the poor death hunter getting chewed out by the spectacled man. Wilson shot them a look of pity that went unnoticed.
He almost took a visible step back when the leader noticed the trainees at last. Was it him, or had the aura of hate around the man just spiked significantly? Cue awkward smile from Wilson as he tried to wrap his mind over the word preparations. He directed his attention toward the pile of supplies. Oh, so he was supposed to grab supplies. He walked over to it, looking over the array of items before he grabbed a dagger. Wilson tilted his head and took a moment to scrutinize. This was supposed to be a barrier dagger, right? Hopefully, when the time came he would be able to use it properly. He pocketed it for later and turned toward the table again, the phrase thirty minutes now ringing in his head. Thirty minutes until departure to where?

The sudden blast of heat and humidity had Deryk wonder how he wasn't going into shock from drastic temperature changes on the spot. Then again, he decided he wasn't going to question it. Besides.. they had Caelius now to deal with. And quite frankly, his division lead did not seem to be happy to see them all. They certainly weren't given much time to prep. Letting out a sigh, he hoped that this won't end up like a slaughter as it has in the last two areas. He made his way over towards the supplies table and grabbed something. It was some sort of modified Fear scanner. Curiously, the death trainee looked it over, wondering how much more useful it was going to be than the normal scanners were. Quote: Modified Fear scanner, can trace a Fear-based opponent's Fear attack before they attack, increasing a Hunter's dodge rate. Cass took some time to strip off some layers from romping about in the cold while she was fussing with supplies, picking up a strange looking packet, turning it over in her hand, and then shoving it into her side bag. Damn that bag was so handy.
She'd have to get one for Marcus or something. Manpurse, maybe, but still. It was a good thing to have. Shove all the nice stuff into it. Well, miscellaneous nice things, maybe. The important nice things stayed on her person, dammit. She wasn't going to lose everything she had on her if it all went to hell and back.
With the first item tucked away into her bag and a few layers of clothing stripped off, Cass was reminded why she was happy she had a sleeveless coat and lighter clothing on. Oh, it was nice to take off all of those layers and feel the breeze on her skin. Even if it was hot as hell and she was going to be harassed by mosquitos or something.
Still, she took a moment to comb her fingers back through her hair before she pulled it back into a very skiddy-wompus looking ponytail that wasn't very long at all. But it kept her neck feeling cool.

((Entering)) Thirty minutes. Thirty minutes was all Mercedes had to prepare herself for what she would assume would be another violent mission full of dying doctors, tentacle creatures, and bugs. But this time she was half expecting to get some sort of tropical disease. PLEASE let some monster eat her, barfing out her nose didn't sound like fun. Out of the mad scramble for items on the table, Mercedes managed to make off with an enhanced pendant first. Bix was exhausted. He'd barely recovered from the ordeal with the massive titan before they were being sent through some other portal. Thankfully the tropical locale allowed him to ditch the warm clothes and he felt less like some sort of leeching vagabond.
It didn't keep him from looking like one though. He was looking tired from the nonstop battling, the trauma, the totally ******** up s**t.
He zombied his way to the supplies and just grabbed whatever his hand landed on first. It seemed to be a walkie talkie or something similar. He tested it, turning the knobs and hearing the hum. He tested the channels, hearing voices of various divisions on different frequencies.
At least it worked.

Bix reached for some bandages but found them snatched out from under him. It was then that one of the supply team members shoved another walkie into his hand and started to push him away from the table. He was too tired to protest, especially with the crowd.
"Anyone wanna trade?" Bix held up the second Communications Device for trade. "Cell phones aren't working apparently."

Jude kind of wandered around in that kind of state of mind where he was 'between episodes' and it was uncertain what channel he was currently on. He wasn't stern or grumpy looking but he wasn't exactly giddy and smiling either. He just knew he had a bit of a headache and a longing to go back to the sea which he thankfully ignored for ... various reasons.
He reached and grabbed a Fear Charge Packet and stared at it a little blankly before he put it away until needed. It seemed useful. He liked useful things. All of the useful little things...
