Once she finally got the giggles under control, Mitzi decided she needed a cool drink of fresh water. She'd found that the dazed onryo didn't seem willing to let go, and in her euphoric mood the Reaper didn't really care, she just dragged her along too. Up to the surface, to where the water storage oasis was. That was the best water, right? And maybe the ghouls could even go for a swim, although they didn't have bathing suits... skinny-dipping time!
When they got there, no one was in sight. Mitzi broke into a wide grin. Perfect! Clearly all the crops around would both hide them and give them warning if someone started to come up, right? "Hey Reiko... how about a swim?" Without even really waiting for the other ghoul, Mitzi stripped down to her underthings and started wading into the water.
Loss of inhibitions and ability to recognize bad ideas? Heeeell yeah.

Reiko giggled as they got to the oasis. It was just so pretty. And look,t hey were so well-sheltered.
"A swim sounds wonderful!" She agreed, undoing her obi and shedding her kimono so she was in just her underthings. If she were a bit more in her right mind, she would have been glad that she'd left her phone back in the dorms, but that wasn't in her thoughts right now. Nope, she was more concentrated on the fact that the water would be so nice and cool and surely it would help her wake up, right?
Also, a more inhibited Reiko wouldn't be taking off her kimono, so there was that too. Yay for strange chemicals making her think less!
So she waded in, and heard a rustling sound. It was almost as if...were the reeds following her progress? She turned to look at them briefly, and immediately the rustling stopped. That sent her into another fit of hilarity.
"Mitzi, Mitzi, watch the reeds, I think they move!"

The water was perfect, this was exactly the sort of thing Mitzi had been wanting all week. She could almost believe she was at the beach! Not on this stupid island with its bad food and ferocious flora and fauna. Somehow she didn't even notice the odd texture to the water, that it was thicker and perhaps not even very water-like. "Race you to the other side!" she called out, not waiting for a response before she started swimming right toward the deepest part of the pool. No one was coming, they had it all to themselves, what could go wrong?

Reiko giggled, and dove underwater, swimming speedily after Mitzi. She did better that way, and since she didn't have to breathe, she could stay under indefinitely. She swam fairly quickly and did several little rolls underwater as she made her way to the other side of the oasis.
As soon as she came back to her senses, Reiko was probably going to die of embarrassment. For now? She burst above the water and let out a little gleeful giggle.

"Hey, no fair!" she called as she saw the ghost pop up on the other side of the pool of water. "Just because you don't breathe..." She hadn't been paying attention, though, and just then the wave from Reiko surfacing hit her, and she got a mouthful of water. She spluttered, trying to get her breath back.

Reiko laughed. "You never said anything beforehand," the ghost pointed out, hauling herself up to sit on the edge and kick her feet a little. She reached up to pull her hair away from her face, and it actually stayed, being wet and all. "Oh, this is fun, I don't know why I don't do it more often~"

Mitzi swam the rest of the way over, and rested her arms on the bank. "Fine, but if you dot it again, it's cheating!" She broke into a fit of giggles. "And yes, you're far too uptight! What's wrong with letting loose occasionally?"
The next half-hour passed in about the same vein, with the ghouls frolicking in the not-water (which they hadn't noticed), and luckily no one stumbled in on them. Even as whatever-it-was started to wear off, Mitzi wasn't too aware of a problem, at least as long as no one else showed up. They were alone, so who cared?

"I'm not uptight," Reiko protested. Then, she considered for a bit. "Alright, maybe I'm a little uptight." She shrugged it off.
Thirty minutes of splashing around later, and Reiko was beginning to come back to herself. She was coming down off of whatever it was she had inhaled, and she looked utterly horrified, freezing mid-splash. "Oh-oh Jack. What...!" Apparently, words failed her.

Mitzi was lying on her back, paddling around the lake when Reiko started to freak out. She'd gotten dosed several minutes later, and was still feeling quite giddy, so she just lifted up her head to eye the other ghoul. "What's wrong?" she asked with lazy smile, more amused than anything.

"I...I have to..." Reiko dove under the not-water, forgetting Mitzi's earlier admonishing about it being "cheating" to take advantage of her inability to breathe. She made it to the opposite shore and scrambled out, looking panicky. "I cannot believe I went swimming mostly naked oh Jack where are my clothes?" She spun around, looking for them and getting smacked by her own wet hair in the process.

Mitzi couldn't help but start giggling at the other ghoul, still under the effects of the drug herself. "Oh come on, what's the harm? No one saw us, no one's coming up here, no one's going to see us!" Still, she started to casually swim over towards where they left their clothes, as even high she didn't really want to be skinny-dipping by herself. It just wasn't as fun, you know?

"It does matter!" Reiko said despairingly. "Someone very easily could have seen us!" She dropped her tangibility as far as she could, letting whatever that not-water was drop through her, and then stepping away from the puddle and towards her clothes totally dry. "And besides, that isn't even water!" She gestured wildly, scooping up her kimono and pulling it back on.

"What do you mean it's not..." And all of a sudden she actually looked around her, and the drug was finally fading enough for her to not just start laughing again.
"Ew, yuck!" She had already had this realization the other day, how had she not remembered?! Clearly it had to be something that she had run into in that crop room, where everything seemed to mess with her head.
She scrambled out of the water as fast as she could, and unlike the onryo, she didn't have the option of just becoming intangible and letting the not-water fall off her. She did her best to shake off, before grabbing her clothes and throwing them on. "Ugh, I'm going to need a shower," she whined.

Reiko looked on the verge of crying from embarrassment. On top of that, she was shocked to see that Mitzi was more upset about the not-water than about being almost naked somewhere anyone could stumble upon them oh dear sweet Jack. "I-I have to....to get out of here..." Reiko squeaked, though instead of actually running, she was shaking and making little squeaking noises.

Mitzi really didn't see why it was an issue. Okay, it was a little embarrassing that someone could have seen them, now that Reiko pointed it out, but no one had, so why worry about it?
She did see, though, that the onryo girl was freaking out. So she rolled her eyes and walked over to lay a hand on her arm. "Then we can go back down. C'mon, the entrance to the tunnels is this way."
