Once again the trainees find themselves in tent #5, the Life leader and his assistant going over several files as the room fills up. Looking around, beyond H, Clarice, and Dwight, it's just trainees and intermediates being briefed for whats coming next. Once everyone's settled, the doctor begins, a map of the continent appearing behind him, "Though it is both unfortunate and unsurprising that no teams have been able to obtain the artifact we're searching for, we believe we have found it." The map zooms in to display a marker for their camp, "If we map out the FEAR spikes found during the searches..." hundreds of small marks appear across the map, creating a messy sort of outline. "We're able to see that which currently posses it."
The outline is further rendered, what looks like a multitude of eyes appear, as well as several large holes, "Quite a few eyes, at least three mouths, countless tentacle-like limbs of varying sizes, and oh yes, it appears to be roughly the size of Rhode Island." The doctor's smile was grim as he turned to look at the image, "According to legend, the artifact in question has powerful and unique properties. Likely this creature has benefited from quite a few of them over the years, becoming what can easily be considered a modern day Titan."
He turned back to the trainees, "I still intend to get that artifact, and you will be assisting me. The attack on the Sahara Base means that we can't afford to weaken this one any further than necessary. Clarice and the rest of the full hunters will remain here to make sure there is a base to come back to. They'll also be dismantling the camp and removing important equipment for a quick departure should one be needed.
But enough about them," his smile grew toothy. "Let talk about you, and the part you'll be playing." Behind him the image shifts to a piece of runic weaponry, "We may not be able to kill the creature, but we don't have to. We just need the artifact. We generally use these harpoon guns to sedate Godzilla size monsters. For this mission we've brought in five of them. The goal will be to deaden and numb the section of the Titan that holds the artifact and then remove it before the creature regains control of its body. The cold should help us in this."
The image zoomed in on the equipment showing a large glowing blue spiral, "The guns will have to be charged to hit effectively. All you need to do is build your weapons charge and then deliver a focused strike to this rune. They need five full charges to launch, but the creature has been most generous in supplying easy targets to use in for charging. For the artifact removal, I'll be the one handling that. You just need to transport and handle the harpoon guns."
The image slid to and image with a big thumbs up, and a cheerful Good Luck! The doctor smiled at them while Clarice looked like she wanted to throw up, but managed a tremulous smile as well when she spoke up, "Your supplies packs are ready. You have an hour to rest until you leave."

When that hour was up, the trainees gathered at the camp exit. Five massive harpoon guns mounted on sleds waited for them. The doctor gave them a small wave, "Yes, you will be pulling them, but before you complain about your pack mule status, at least take a moment to appreciate the runes on the sleds. Yes, that's right. This camp is run by the Life Division, my division. We make the world work for us. " With one hand, he pulled a sled forward with ease, "Two of you should be more than enough to handle the task. Now make sure you have your supplies, and lets be off, the world's clock is ticking down."The OOC For the moment, your hunters are just carrying supplies through the vast, white landscape of Antarctica. A few penguins are visible at the start of their journey, but after awhile there's nothing. Not even the strange quakes and tentacles from earlier. All is quiet.
Supplies pack: 1 bandage (roll 1d cool 1 day's worth of MRE's 1 canteen 1 FEAR scanner 1 pair of extra socks 1 orange 1 set of Runic Harpoon Instructions sent to your phone

Titans...
Deryk was kind of familiar with the term. They were from Greek mythology; the beings that were around before the time of the Gods. They were eventually overthrown and put on lock down by the Greek Gods, but they were still supposed to be really powerful creatures. The fact that they were apparently up against a modern day one guarding this artifact?
It did not sound good at all. Apparently they weren't even going to try and kill it; only sedate it.
That sounded even less good in his head, because it likely meant that killing it would be incredibly difficult.
"..Ohboy..." he murmured quietly before picking up an equipment pack.
While he walked out with the others, he let out a frosted breath. It was really cold here. But furthermore, it was also really quiet. Too quiet. The quiet was making him really nervous actually.
Fidgeting a bit, he went ahead and checked his scanner to see if there was anything around.
"A-anyone picking up on anything?"

Jude was up from his nap after his 'excursion' out to the wild to fight tentacles and so when he had come to the briefing and listened in he wasn't all that surprised that ... it was one large beast - not even a little surprised. The only thing that really surprised him about it was how ******** big it was. That part gave him the jolt of surprise.
When it was over he got himself ready in the hour provided, picked up his pack and was ready to...Play pack mule apparently. He wasn't sure how useful someone of his division would be carrying things for some Lifer but ... whatever. He wasn't going to complain and the first chance he got he'd .. go do something else for the mission that was better and more useful to his status.
At Deryk's question he checked his own scanner, "Mmm," he muttered back it was neither a confirmation nor a denial. It was neutral.

Titans sounded like some sort of sports team, but uh. Clerise knew better than to ask.
During her hour of free time, Clerise gave her blonde counterpart a hug, much more at ease now that she had some runic daggers.
"Don't worry, miss lady, I'll be careful." She gave another hug to Clarice. Always hugs, never not hugs. Never not.
She offered to shoulder some of the burden of pulling a harpoon gun, waiting for another person to come help her along.
In the meantime, she checked her fear scanner. For shiggles.

The size of Rhode Island?! They were off to kill something the size of a freaking state?! ... Okay then! Actually, the thing had been such a royal pain in the a** that Madison was more than willing to help bring it down, its incredibly intimidating size notwithstanding. And the huge harpoon guns were pretty impressive. Yeah, she could take this. Anyway, if it was so huge, they probably wouldn't miss... The FEAR scanner strapped to her wrist was both reassuring in its familiarity and as nerve-wracking as it always was; as long as it was quiet, it was fine, but the anticipation drove her a little bonkers sometimes. She squinted at the readout dubiously, remembering what the spike had looked like when the giant freak had attacked her and Ennea in the field. Hmm... okay, no, she couldn't keep checking this all the time. Bonkers. "I'll help," she said quickly, stepping up next to the kind of familiar girl with the red hair who was ready to pull a harpoon gun. "Where do you want me to grab hold?" It would be a nice distraction from constantly looking at the scanner... and she'd be useful. Being useful would be nice.

Titans, huh?
She'd seen a movie of that name once and for some reason the thought of old movies brought a certain amount of nostalgic calm to Cass as she listened to H giving instructions on where it was they were going.
"Guess it could be worse. At least it's not like a Colossus....." She was referencing a video game, mostly mumbling to herself, but definitely not fussing at the time to get prepared. In fact, it sounded like H was giving them the relatively easy job. Not to say that his job probably wouldn't seem as difficult as their was in terms of their current ability.
Perspective, she was starting to get it.
That's a sign of maturity, Cassandra. You're gaining a lot of it on this trip.
Or maybe it was just that fear of being an adult.
Whichever.
Still, she pondered if she should have helped pull a Harpoon gun or work to make sure the path was clear for those pulling it...

Sasha waited until the Doctor broke free from the group; she was hot on his trail, giving a distracted look at the scanner before she pulled up alongside him. What was she doing? This was kind of crazy. It wasn't even her business, but after hearing from Jerry.. well. She had a lot of questions that needed answering.
Clearing her throat rather forcefully, Sasha took a moment to find her voice. Even still, her tone was barely above a whisper.
"Excuse me, sir."
She cleared her throat again.

Was she glad to know that others were aware of just how large the thing that had tried to kill her earlier was? Not really.
Everyone was listening to the scanners on their wrists and waiting to see what it all meant. Rhode Island was the smallest state right?
Hell, Ofelia sucked at geography.

Multiple eyes and mouths. Tentacles. The size of Rhode Island.
Were they seriously going to be dealing with something that had those specifics? Eva was frowning, her arms crossed over her chest as she tried to visualize just what exactly this so-called Titan looked like, and how in god's name they were going to fight it. The scene that came to mind looked more like a child's cartoon than anything--a few trainees climbing all over the Titan's back and poking at it with harpoons, while other trainees had been captured by the tentacles and were dangling by their legs.
...
This was...certainly going to be fun. She could see it now.
With a sigh, she cast a quick look down at her scanner. She hoped that everything would go well.

Sasha gave the doctor a look that kind of vaguely bordered on stern but just kind of left her looking almost ...pained.
"Sir. I ah.. I need to speak with you. I mean.. if that's okay. I just had a few questions before I help with the uh. Sleds?"
Jerry just had to be mistaken. There was no way that this man could be the snake that Jerry had called him. Sasha exhaled loudly, her breath leaving puffs of steam as she trudged along beside the doctor.

Clerise gave a wide grin to the girl who offered to help, shrugging. She grabbed one of the ropes attached to the sled, gesturing at the other. "Go for it, girly."
God. They were going to be fighting something huge, huh? "Out of the frying pan and into the fire," the redhead murmured, thoughtful, wrapping the rope around her wrist, pulling on it experimentally.
Eyes glanced to the fear scanner again. She couldn't help it! Too bad it was giving some crazy, funky readings. Did that one ghostly girl with the glitches get into it!?
Clerise shook it as though it were a polaroid. Or a child. Or both.

Slowing his step so she could keep up easily, the doctor answered easily, "Ask away, Sasha. I'll answer as I can, though I can't guarantee you'll like the answers." Particularly the questions were about this particular mission, it's success percentage, and the projected loss estimates.
