She wasn’t sick anymore. She wasn’t sick anymore, but her parents had…put their foot down and refused to let her move out with Tova. They decided that…she was to…fragile. Fragile. Her. Ug. What a bother. She had spent the last day really fixing up the guest room, toying with the idea of calling Kestrel to come stay with her. She wanted…something. Something more than just living with her parents. If she couldn’t get Acubens to come live here, and if she couldn’t go live with Tova…then she wanted something…
The blonde walked back into the guest room and smoothed the blankets over the bed, then worked up the courage and finally called Kestrel. She didn’t say why, but she invited the girl over.
She walked downstairs and sat by her door, waiting for the girl to arrive. She really hoped that the other girl would accept the invitation…but. You couldn’t really know until the question was asked. Maybe she had already found a place to stay? Maybe…just so many maybes.
Right now wasn’t the time to think about maybes. Right now it was just Time to wait.

Kestrel had been shocked by the phone call to say the least. It was a happy shock but a shock all the same. She had been at work, where she spent most of her time but she was able to head round, she just had to put the birds away. Then she decided she would at least clean herself up a bit before she drove round.
She found the house easily enough and parked outside it. Her van needed washing, another mental reminder was made to make sure it actually got cleaned. She then looked up at the house. Kestrel had been ill as well but being Kestrel she had forced herself to get through it in one way or another. She was however relieved to be feeling good again.
Walking to the door she took a deep breath and gave it a good knock. She was wondering if there was a reason Raven asked her round, couldn't they have just met at a cafe or something?

Raven drew in a steadying breath before she opened the door, going through the mental checklist that she had thought she had figured out. This wouldn’t make her seem like some creep, right? Kestrel was part of the DMC’s. Part of her ‘other’ family. This was just helping out a friend. But…maybe the girl had found a place to live. What if she was going to just end up getting hurt. Again.
But, why did she want a roommate so much anyway? Maybe she was just lonely, though. That was what her dog was for, at least. Sort of.
She opened the door and flashed a smile. “Hey, Kestrel, come in, come in. Glad you could find the place.” The blonde gave a little laugh and looked out the door at Kestrel’s car. It was so dusty! That…would have to get cleaned, or her parents might take back what they said about allowing Kestrel to stay. If there was one thing that her parents didn’t like it was dust. Dust made for ruined books, and ruined books made for very grumpy parents.
She waited for the girl to come inside, then shut the door, smiling still. “So..how have you been? Things have been going well, yeah?”

Kestrel smiled as Raven opened the door and in she went. She had to have a nose around the house as she walked in and then turned to Raven.
"Not too bad, been spending a lot of time in the staff room at work with hot drinks. Not been well recently. How about you?" She looked around the house again wondering why she was here. It just seemed odd, she didn't mind of course but it was just a bit strange. Kestrel never got invited over anyones house, not like ever! So it was a bit of a strange but she wouldn't mess it up. She needed a friend and Raven was up for being one so Kestrel would be polite and everything, she wasn't going to mess it up!

Raven watched the girl for a long moment, then nodded. “I just got over a month long cold myself…I couldn’t get out of bed. It was terrible…though, my boyfriend came by to cheer me up. That was about the only good thing in the situation.” She grinned, still kind of happy that Jett had risked getting sicker to visit her and spend some time with her. It really had made her feel like some sort of a princess or something…that he really just liked.
She shook her head, then laughed. “Right, right. So…I was wondering…Have you found a place to live yet? I’m assuming…since you’ve been using the hot drinks in your staff room that the answer is a no…but…still. Have you?”
Part of her really hoped that she had found a place…and hadn’t really been just living in the back of a van for…for goodness knows how long. That really wasn’t a good way to live…not at all.

"Oh really? It seemed to be a pretty bad thing." She had heard of a few people with the cold but she hadn't realised everyone for it that bad. "It's a good thing you have Jett." She smiled, slightly jealous. She would love for someone to care for her that much, she was happy for Raven though, better someone be happy right?
"Oh? No I haven't. It's a good thing that the people at work are so nice. I thought you were moving out or something?" Did she imagine that? She had after all been ill for the last month it messed with your brain somewhat!

She grinned, “Yeah, it is a plus to have Jett, he makes things a lot more fun…even if he is a complete a** sometimes.” The blonde hesitated then shrugged as Kestrel mentioned her moving out. The girl had a good memory, at the very least…but…
“I was supposed to be moving out, yeah. I was going to go and live with Requiem, but, mom and dad got completely paranoid that I would get sick and die the moment I moved out…you know, since I was so sick from the stupid flu…and, they told me they don’t want me moving out yet. But…”
She hesitated, looking up at the other girl. The other DMC, part of her extended family. This wouldn’t be strange at all…or at least it shouldn’t be. “But they said I could invite someone to come live here…we have a spare bedroom, and…and I was wondering if you’d like to come live in it? If that’s not too strange or whatever…I…I would really be happy to have you here. We could go on patrols together and stuff, and…my parents are nice, even if they are kind of strange…”
Raven twirled a lock of her hair around a finger and waited for a reply, hoping that it would be a yes, and not another no.

Kestrel smiled as she was still rather envious. Raven had Jett even if he was an a** the two had each other and that was something. She raised her eyebrows in surprise though as Raven mentioned Requiem rather then her normal name but maybe her parents weren't about?
"I can understand your parents being worried..." Another thing she was slightly envious about it. What came next though was really rather unexpected.
"Really? Your parents won't mind?" She wasn't sure what to think, she hadn't expected this, but it would be a roof over her head. "Would your parents want rent?" It was a question she really needed to ask before giving an answer. She didn't make much money after all....
Though if money wasn't going to be an issue, the answer was an easy one.

Raven grinned. “They won’t mind. I’ve already talked it through with them, and they said that it would be a lot more cost efficient to have you come live here rather than me go and live with Tova. They’re not going to charge you any money for rent.” It was good that her parents weren’t here, for she hadn’t caught the slip the last time. Saying Requiem’s name wasn’t a very good thing to do, and it was good that Kestrel was part of her team. A very good thing indeed.
“So…do you want to come up and see your room? I’ve redecorated it some, but, you can feel free to move things around and all that jazz. Mom and dad are away for the week, but are excited to meet you anyway…”
She rocked back on her heels and smiled, still hoping that she would say yes.

Kestrel wasn't sure what to say, she was being offered a roof over her head, something that she hadn't had since well, a while. She loved her van but even her boss knew it wasn't a home and though he had offered her an advance to find somewhere to live she hadn't the money to pay rent and education but this would be a rent free home!
"I would love to see the room." She smiled at Raven trying to work out if this was really all happening. Oh how she wanted it all to be true. She wanted to have a home and to be accepted into a family? Oh that really would be amazing.
"I really would love to move in. I will help around the house in any way I can as they aren't asking for rent. Anything really!" She was excited, though it might not show like it would with most people. She was still half expecting someone to jump out and tell her it was a big joke.

Raven’s eyes lit up and she nodded. “Then follow me, okay? You’ll be in the room right next to mine—we’ll share the bathroom and stuff. I’m not messy, I promise.” She led the girl upstairs to a room that was right next to the steps. “Here you go. I hope it’s good enough for you, I had to clean it up, but…You know, it doesn’t have to be kept this neat.”
The room wasn’t huge, but it was big enough to hold a bed, dresser, night table and a desk. The bed was made and looked very comfortable, and on top of the comforter, sat a small stuffed animal hawk.
“There’s also a full length mirror—“ She closed the door, pointing to the hanging mirror and grinning. “You know, so we can get places easier. I have one on my door too.” The blonde gave a smile and seemed hopeful. “So…so do you like it? Do you think you’re going to like it here?”

Kestrel was thrilled at the excitement in Raven. A home, a friend and a stuffed hawk!
"Oh it's so cute!" She couldn't help but go straight to the bed and pick it up. Oh it was so cute. She gave it a big squeeze and smiled like a child at Christmas. She then decided it was worth looking round the room, hawk still in her arms. The room was perfect, she didn't have much stuff anyway and the mirrors, oh how perfect! She had never thought of a mirror in a room like that but of course it made perfect sense!
"I think I will love it here, thank you so much Raven!" She placed the hawk back on the bed and flung her arms around Raven. She had a home! A real home in a house and she was free to be her own person. It was perfect, completely perfect.

Raven laughed, looking so happy. “I think I’m going to love you being here too, Kestrel! It’s going to be awesome. And you’ve got a home, and I’ve got my new uh…my new sister.” She was beaming now, and it finally seemed like she would be able to move on from that damn senshi, that damn Acubens that would never, ever become her sister. Never become anything more than an enemy.
Maybe now she would be able to keep a clear head around the girl. Maybe.
“I’ll let you get settled in, okay? My room is right next to yours..and uh, we can go and get you some stuff for the bathroom and whatnot when you’re settled! So, come and get me when you’re done, I’ll see you soon!” She hesitated, then gave the redhead another hug, before going to her room and flopping onto the bed, completely unable to stop smiling. The day had been just so perfect, she wasn’t even sure how to feel.
