Yin could not even make it to the dorms before stopping to do something, there was simply too much excitement welling up within him. Everything looked comforting. And the names? For once they made sense, for once he felt like if he introduced himself someone, anyone, might get it right. It was paradise. What he found himself in was a dance class, lead by Professor Zhang Liulian. He watched as the ghoul was asked to dance, eyes tracking her carefully. Those moves did not seem so entirely different than ones he utilized in Tai Chi, though to string them together so beautifully was a task he had never performed at that level. Still, it was an exciting proposition. But first he had to change. The available outfits were familiar, and he caressed soft silks as if they were the most precious commodity in the world before settling on a plainer pair of pants and all of the accessories that went with them. The costume was, per usual, a nice shade of green. The only real difference from the outfit that had been put together was he chose a different pair of sleeves, still green but a much softer and lighter material. He moved back to where they were meant to dance, glancing around to see if there was anyone that he knew.

Now, Israfel liked a lot of things. One of those things was fashion. Outfits, dresses and duds. He liked costumes and capes and by Jack when the opportunity to dress up presented itself, the siren was all over it like demon on a contract. It was a 'good' thing that he liked. Learning to dance while wearing on of their dresses? Israfel's earwings were fluttering in excitement. Picking up a blue and black dress he quickly rushed off to put in on. It was silky and breezy and no wait it just didn't come with pants put that was okay he didn't really need pants. Pants didn't go with dresses anyway. No many at least. Looking at another student he bound his way over. "Hi! Hi are you going to dance too?" His ear wings were going nuts.

There was a slightly feminine voice and Yin turned to see a strange student (he presumed) that he did not know approaching with no little amount of exuberance. She (again, he presumed) was already dressed fro the dance, and if the wings by her ears were any indication she was ready for what was to come. She was entirely too energetic and happy, and it was slightly frightening. He tried not to look terrified and gave her a nervous and extremely small smile, a mere twitching of the lips really. "Greetings miss, I am Yǐn Cáng. I had planned to," he offered, mind racing. The best thing right now...the best thing would be to distract her. "But it would be a shame to learn to dance without picking out a prop would it not?" He moved over to select a simple paper fan, hoping that she might be distracted enough in choosing her prop that it would take up some of her enthusiasm.

Sadly for Yin, Israfel was just that oblivious to his discomfort. So the boil looked nervous? Stage fright. Israfel was chalking it up to stage fright. His wings gave a shuffle as Yin intoduced himself. "Hi Yin!" Israfel's head bobbed, "I am Israfel! It is very nice to meet you! You are a student yes? What year? Do you like this island so far? I do I think it is really pretty and nice." No filter. Looking over at the various props, his head cocked as Yin picked up the fan. Was he hot? Israfel had wings for that. Wait. Waiiiiiitttttt. The fan..was for... "Oh!" chirping, he reached in a pulled out a fan as well. Yes it was very nice and also blue. Blue was very pretty after all. "So are we going to dance soon? I think you will dance very well you look like a good dancer."

So many questions. So many questions. As Miss Israfel selected a fan he tried to answer her. "Yes, I am a second year. And the island is very beautiful. What do you think of it?" That was a basic self defense question for any boil, turn the question back to the ghoul and give her a chance to talk. Though this ghoul certainly did not seem to have any problem talking on her own. "Yes, I believe we are to dance now. Are you an accomplished dancer?" He flat out ignored the compliment, unsure of if or how he should read into it. He rather hoped he would dance well, but there was really no telling if his physical abilities would transfer over to dancing as well. There was really only one way to find out. "I suppose we shall see Miss Israfel. I am sure that you will do well, you seem very...enthusiastic about dance."For now he was just going to try it though. There was music, and he simply needed to immerse himself into it. He had little idea of what to do with his fan, or really how to dance. So he just...used tai chi. The movements flowed with the music, though he was clumsy with the fan in his hand. And there was no deep connection to the music or audience to make it captivating. Still, he stayed on his feet and at least matched the movements somewhat. Even if the horsewomen did seem to be laughing at him. Somewhat embarrassed he was glad when performance finally, finally came to an end. +2 Horsemen points

Questions never stopped for the siren, as he could only thing of more inane ones to ask as time went on. That, or he'd begin to go onto tangents. "Oh yes it is! I love the outfits and the buildings and the gardens and all the things! Invictus is from here and he is very pretty so it is not very surprising that this place is also very pretty and nice and very very formal. He is a very formal pony. Though I don't think he'd like to be called a pony." He didn't grasp how referring the horseman as 'ponies' might be offensive. "And I can dance but I don't know if I can do the dance they want you know? My dancing is very ummm bootylicious. Yes. And slow sometimes. When um..I'm with..Lucien. Yes." Pink colored his cheeks as he thought about it. Watching Yin go out to dance, the siren cheered him on clapping his hands when the boil was done. "YAYYYYY I think you did really well! I am going to try now so maybe I will not be so bad?" Maybe it was the fact he lacked deep thought that allowed him to move as he did, but apparently he did rather well, even tossing his fan around and catching it. When the music ended and he bounded back, his earwings were fluttering, and Israfel let out a chirp as he saw the instructor's smile. "I think I did good! Dancing is very very fun isn't it?" +3 points

Apparently Miss Israfel...loved all the things. Invictus sounded familiar, and Yin thought that perhaps he was one of the heirs, which would likely make him the heir to conquest. But Yin was learning! Yes, he was learning that Horsemen were really ponies, but he should maybe think about it before calling one that to their face. As for a "bootylicious" dance...well he had no idea what that meant. But it was a slower dance, and she was accustomed to dancing with a partner. When Yin returned it was hard not to become slightly embarrassed at the praise, and Yin could not help but wait around to watch her dance. It was beautiful, and if that was "bootylicious" than everyone should strive to become a bootylicious dancer. "That was very captivating," he admitted openly enough. "I have rarely seen a clans woman so pleased."

Danny felt so incredibly out of place on this island. Everyone held their head high, had beautiful flowing gowns, golden accessories. Scholars ran back and forth spouting information that Danny couldn't even PRETEND to keep up with.
So for the most part? She'd avoided everything. She never stayed in one spot too long, always darting from activity to activity before people could even catch her name.
That is, until she saw Yin in that outfit. Danny immediately started laughing and slipped in the room to gawk at Yin. Except her plan entirely backfired. The Professor roped her into the dance class and Danny was like a frightened rabbit. Dancing? No. Dresses? Still no.
She immediately clung to Yin's side and said, "Help. Me."

Apparently the laughter had not come from a clans woman, but from Miss Danny, though thankfully Yin did not realize that. But there she was, the fire demoness coming toward him and then clinging to him, looking oddly frightened for the normally boisterous ghoul. He was slightly worried that there might be something wrong with her. "Of course I shall assist you Miss Danny. First of all, you shall need a good outfit before you can dance properly." He glanced at Miss Israfel for confirmation. Then he lead the ghoul toward the outfits that there were available. She had had problems with clothing before so he decided to help, looking for something that might work for Miss Danny rather than the wonderfully concealing robes he so longed to put her in. Finally he found something that she might, might compromise with. "This costume might work for you. There is not as much fabric as with some other outfits, but it is still in the traditional style, typically used for those who utilize ribbons in their dance." It was a scandalous outfit really, but it would cover more than she currently had on.

Danny just stared. Was this a pretty outfit? Was Yin messing with her? She couldn't even tell if he was actually helping her or not. That's literally how bad she was at this.
"Uhh ... Looks ... Ummm." Seriously, what was her opinion supposed to be? Danny decided to just take the outfit and put it on. She gave a second glance to the headdress though. "Yin I don't think that'll fit." She pointed to her horns as she spoke. Yeah, it definitely wasn't going to work with the horns.
She looked around and decided that here was as good a place as ever to change, and started unbuckling her belt. What was an etiquette???

He was about to assure her that the headdress probably was not necessary when an idea struck him. She had not balked. At all. Which meant...perhaps he should go for something she certainly would not ordinarily agree to. "I am afraid this will not do Miss Danny. If you cannot wear the headdress you shall have to go for a different outfit." So he plucked down something much more preferable, and in colors that she probably would not mind, passing it over to her. "The changing area is over there. You shall have to find a curtained off area to change in or the clansmen may be upset." Well, the clansmen might be upset if they were anything at all like Yin. (( This but without the hair stuff and in warmer colors))

Danny stopped unbuckling as soon as Yin told her she couldn't wear the outfit. She was so grateful for Yin's presence here. Had she not had him, she would've probably worn the outfit and gone out there, making a complete fool of herself for not having the headdress! She just had the bestest mantis friend ever, always looking out for her.
She frowned when he showed her the next outfit though. With a grumpy expression on her face, she took the outfit from his hand and marched over to the area he pointed to. She hated dresses. She hated all this fabric. Grumpy Danny was grumpy.
Once she was done figuring out where the hell the ribbon went, Danny walked out of the small changing area and brushed her hair out of her face with one of the long sleeves. "Did I put it on right?" she said, a bit confused why her sleeves were about fifty times longer than they needed to be. Was she doing it wrong?

While Danny had stomped into the changing room and struggled with her dress, Rikki had walked in, frowned at the teacher and his life in general, and then went to get a costume and get changed. By the time Danny was in front of Yin again, pouting, Rikki was stepping out of the changing area too.
His costume was simple. White, light pants and a long-sleeved shirt with ornate buttons to the side. It was trimmed in a bright orange that nearly matched his eyes, and with his dark skin and hair he almost looked like he'd rolled into this outfit naturally. Well, he might if he didn't look so displeased. The clothes were too loose, despite fitting him perfectly. He felt as if he might move too fast and get tangled in all the fabric. He'd much prefer to be back in his skinny jeans and boots.
BOOTS. Boots brought him to THAT particular complaint. That complaint was that he was wearing slippers. Flimsy silky orangey scraps of fabric that set his soul on raging fire. SLIPPERS WERE NOT PRACTICAL. Boots protected, sneakers gave traction, slippers looked ridiculous.
He walked up beside Danny, stared at Yin and all his comfortable and pleased attitude, and simmered.

"Yes, that is correct. You look good in that Miss Danny." He was not so afraid of complimenting Miss Danny, she was chosen and she was safe. And he was just so...thrilled. She was fully clothed.
She was fully clothed.
It was as if the Great Mantis himself had decided to bless the boil today.
"Ah, but before you begin, you will need to go take a prop from over there. You may select whichever one you desire."

Danny gave Rikki a look like, "I hate this so much, you hate this too right?" She wouldn't deny he looked handsome, but ... it just SO wasn't Rikki. She preferred his comfy hoodies to this dolled up dancer's outfit.
When Yin said she needed a prop, she stalked over to the table and picked up the first thing her hands crossed- a paper fan. "Will this do?" she said grumpily.
Augh she hated this.
