 Twil reclined lazily on the branch of a tree watching the sun set. It was nearly his favorite time of day once again. Time for the night air to fill his wings and let him ride on its currents. Who knew where they could lead. Over the years they had lead him to some interesting places, not to mention people. There was always something new to learn under the cover of darkness. What exactly always remained to be seen.
Twil yawned and carefully stood on the branch stretching. Night never seemed to come fast enough when he actually was waiting for it to fall.

 Gwen strolled along the path breathing deep of the cooling air as the sun set behind the trees. It felt so nice to be free. Don't get her wrong she loved her father but he could be a bit....over-protective at times. She sighed softly, it was nice to be alone too- her house could get very crowded at times. It just wasn't fair, Chichi got to go out and have fun, why did she have to be the lady and sit with her sewing and knitting. Sure, she was the "Good Child"- but right now she didn't feel like being good- she wanted to be free.

Twil stopped in mid stretch and watched the female angelic pass under the tree. Seemed this night was getting an early start, he hadn't even had to spread his wings. He studied her for a few moments. She seemed to have a lot on her mind, but in his experience a girl with a lot on her mind was always open to the sympathetic ear, and who knew what else.
He counted to ten quietly to himself then spread his wings and carefully fluttered towards the ground and the walking femme. "A penny for your thoughts Mi'lady? Perhaps three or four if there are many of them?" he asked keeping himself from smiling. Sometimes the roguish smile did more harm than help.

She was lost in her own thoughts and reveling in the dawning night to the point where she didn't hear the Angelic male swooping down behind her. IN fact she barely registered the voice when it came out of nowhere, she half thought she'd imagined some roguish lover that was one with the night to take her away for the time....and then she realized the voice was REAL. SHe jumped slightly going up on her forepaws as she spun around and backed up a step or two. Her eyes widened at seeing the lovely male specimen standing before her. THe she realized she was acting a complete twit. SHe took a quick deep breath and drew herself up to her full height which wasn't alot as she was a rather small noodle- but you could clearly see her assume the mantle of ladyship about her.* Good evening Sir, you are correct in your address but presumptuous in what you ask. It would be improper to share ones intimiate thoughts with a stranger. * INwardly she winced as she sounded a stuck up prig but the words were out there now*

"Ah, my apologies. I didn't mean to come on too strongly. I merely wanted to attempt to engage you in conversation. But it would seem I have accomplished my ends." He didn't stop himself this time and smiled. "But how rude of me I should introduce myself. My name is Twil, oh, lovely lady of the night~" he bowed slightly.
He glanced up slightly through his forelock and waited to see how she'd accept that speech. He was either about to hop backwards, or things were about to get interesting. Well...not as interesting as they could...but interesting.

*She drew herself up straining for stature as she pretended to ponder the matter and his words. In reality her heart was pounding in her chest. He seemed nice enough. And quite real- certainly not a figment of the hereditary overactive imagination she had. Delicately she cleared her throat* Apology Accepted. *she nodded her head towards him magnanimously. You may rise Sir. *the hint of a smile played round her lips at being treated so sweetly* It would indeed appear that you have accomplished your ends, however our meeting in and of itself is somewhat improper *her shy little smile grew as improper seemed to be good for tonight*

Twil rose and looked properly worried. "Oh, how very true. So where is your escort on this fine evening?" He looked around making the attempt to find someone around to protect her honor. "I would hate to seem too forward." he looked suitably ashamed. "I know how it must seem. I just wished to see what a lovely young lady was doing out alone on a evening such as this."

*Now she was starting to get worried. He seemed to genuinely expect a lady such as herself to have an escort......and she couldn't do much besides tell him the truth. With a sigh she sat down and looked away from him* I ran off. I wanted a night of fancy free fun- so I ditched my Dad after he fell asleep reading.....I didn't exactly do anything wrong *she quickly added* He just assumes that I stay inside once he goes to sleep. I....I really just wanted to take a walk....*She finished lamely, a surprising blush of shame rising to her cheeks*

Twil chuckled. "I understand that, and nothing wrong with it. Every princess needs to run away some times." he chuckled again. "I often find that a night of fun often helps put the days back in perspective." he motioned that if she wanted to walk he was willing to follow along. "I too run away from day time troubles. I find the night often allows for things that others might shy away from."

*Her blush deepened significantly as he offhandedly implied that she was a princess. And then with that chuckle.... her heart had went from flip-flopping to somersaulting- but she hid it well. Inclining her head in aknowledgement she set a slow even strolling pace trusting that he would follow. His final words piqued her interest as her head tilted to the side softly in query she looked sideways at him and said " Oh really? What troubles might you have Sir? A...And how exactly does the night help?"*

Twil walked along with her. "For one thing it's far too bright. Brings out all the flaws and perhaps even the ugly of the world. The dark is far more forgiving. Softens the blow so to speak. The things people are willing to judge you for in the light, they will often gloss over or even ignore when hidden from sight." he glanced over at her. "The dark is the best friend of all, those who fear it don't know what they're missing."
He stretched out his wings, absently brushing her with a pinion. "Oh, I'm sorry. I forget my wing span sometimes." he said. It had really been more of a test. He was certainly intrigued by this midnight blue femme, and he wanted to know the boundaries now, instead of later. Never failed that when he waited to put the moves on without testing, he ended up with a sore cheek.

*she nodded quiet as she listened to what he had to say, and she startled slightly to find that a great deal of what he said made sense in a surprising way* I....I suppose I understand that. I want the darkness to take me in tonight *she said wistfully* I want to be free to be me....*she paused* No thats not quite right.... I want the freedom to find out who I am. *she nodded emphatically*
*A gasp rose as he brushed her, and her heart went back to doing a few flip flops at his slight touch* Oh...n....no problem.

"Oh really?" Twil said casually trying not to sound to interested. "Terribly sorry again." he said making sure his wings were folded tightly against his body in a gesture of apology. "Maybe perhaps I'd be willing to help you out with this endeavor?"
"If you wanted any help that is." he said with a smile.

Twil's mouth twitched in amusement. "Something like that." he said. "I have also found there are other ways of 'finding oneself', but only if you're interested." he had no intention of taking advantage of this girl, but if she became interested in more than just touring he'd be there. Then again it was always the tourists that surprised you more than anyone.
Well he'd just have to see how this went.
