Badieh felt as if she was changing. She was no longer pushing herself to be the greatest female fighter so that others might cower in her prowess. She no longer looked back to the times when young beliving it was all right when truly, she believed it was not. She was born from old blood, a royal line, and she was told to behave and grow as such. But, times had changed, others had changed, she felt as if she herself was changing.

But what would others think?

What of Ali?

Those that still believed born of royal blood was being that truly blessed.

She was confused.

Having the Hongshan here, bringing the nergui threat, it all came with time. But it also brought Sjari, silent, calm Sjari. He himself held no stigma to her, that she knew of, as he didn't speak.

Badieh sat upon a dune, pacing back and forth, a scowl on her face. She didn't know whether to be angry or peaceful.

Times, indeed, were changing. After his chat with the Hongshan lion in regards to his comment at the public meeting, Kosuke had been running everything over in his head. How would he feel if he found himself a slave...? Was it right, was it wrong? Indeed, he did think the Firekin were smouldering in their current state. They needed some sort of catalyst to reignite the fire as it once was, was all. The red lion let out a huff, before noticing a shadow on the sands. It could easily have been one of MANY lionesses within the pride, but this was was more familiar. One he knew well. As he got closer, he quietly noted just how familiar it was - It was one he'd shared a womb with. With all the grace and gentlemanly ways missing, he bumped his shoulder into the lioness. "Hello, Bad, long time no chat." He looked his sister over, taking note to see if anything had changed about her. It didn't seem that too much had, but something was on her mind. "Your mind in as much a whirl as mine?"

She wasn't paying enough attention to what was going on around her. Her mind, so preoccupied, refused to lessen its grip upon her conscious until she felt a bump against her shoulder, her eyes turning to fall onto the male she knew as her brother, bold and brazen, Kosuke. She smirked at him, as she normally would, as was her behavior her family knew, but it quickly disappeared and she nodded her head.

"Too much in fact...I, don't know what to think anymore."

Badieh was beginning to believe everything her family knew might be wrong...

She rolled her shoulders, looked him over. He seemed to be doing well regardless of the lack of water. Probably still as fiery and stubborn as she remembered.

"How are things? The family?"

"Oh, things are okay..." He sat down next to her, tail flicking as he stared out across the desert. "Family's fine... One litter grows and next thing you know another one's expected..." He'd leave her to interpret that one. He then let out a heavy, loaded sigh. "Bad, I've been thinking... I'm sure you've heard or heard of the stir I caused with my comments about restoring the old ways... And this is all a punishment by Finar-si..." He let out a light snort. "I started thinking after chatting with one of the Hongshan... Maybe the whole slavery thing was wrong... I mean, when we were cubs, our mother's family had a slave... And yet she looked like she should have fit into the pride..." He looked over at her. "So... Was that wrong...?"

Badieh's ears flicked forward when she heard Kosuke's first comment, and she grinned at him, eyes looking at him in a sly manner. "Truly Kosuke, more? The dunes will be covered in the pawprints of your children," she said with a soft hearted laugh, but it was her way of saying congratulations. Kosuke was a fine lion by all means, he was strong, he had his moments, but he appeared quite loyal to his family, as well as the family lineage.

It was why she felt so conflicted.

How could she tell him she had been seeing, as a friend, one of the Hongshan, how would he take such news? Such a thing,s he would think, would seem as blasphemy in the old ways.

It was why she was so confused... because she felt like it was right no matter what others might say or think.

"You do have your own way with words, Kosuke, when we were young...it was just that. We were young, now it is our time, and times have changed, we must make these times for the better. Thinking of holding slaves it makes me think of those nergui monsters out there...they are brutal, and I wouldn't put it past them to keep slaves. I feel the path the firekin is on now is right...I feel like," her ears went back slightly, visually showing Kosuke she was confused/conflicted about how she felt, "I feel like it is time for things that were in the past...to remain in the past."
