Talis rolled his eyes up to the sky with an irritated huff. He pounced on his paws, aggressively shifting the rolling terrain with his agitation. This little errand his father had him on was...just plain stupid. What did he expect? Understanding? The young male growl irritably as he walked closer to the pride lands; the lands of his father's people. The U'W.

The morning light covered his fur in a warming glow that deepened his resolve. He didn't want to be here, that much was certain, but he couldn't very well run away. Someone needed to be the bigger man here, and it was clear his good for nothing father wasn't too keen on the role.

Talis was no small lion. He was tall, covered head to paw in toned muscle with a mane as thick as the hide of any preybeast. Still, it didn't mean that he should have been the one to do his father's dirty work. "Jerk," he muttered.

Achal paused in his patrol noticing a lion approaching the pride borders. It wasn't an uncommon occurrence as their adolescent males came and went spreading word of their pride, sending more males their way. This day, however, it was the male's marking that had Achal shocked.

The male lion that walked his way was unmistakably from his family, could have even been a cub of his and Ban'ma, but he was. None of the cubs from their litter looked like him. He stood watching the other, who seemed irritated in the moment before heading toward him.

"Hello there," he said headed for the male. "You look as though you could be my son," he said with a laugh.

Between rolling his head to the side and making death threats to certain areas his father posessed, Talis didn't come to see Achal until the other was nearly a breath away. And when he did...

"Oh wow." His eyes widened. As far as he knew there had only been one other lion with those kind of markings, but Zaid had explained that they had come from his own father. Achal...

Talis gave an uneasy lopsided grin and waited for the older male to approach him. He didn't want to give the impression that he was attempting to charge, and honestly, he was too stunned to really move, anyway. "Oh.." He cleared his throat. "Um..hey. Funny story. If your name is Achal, then I'm the son of your son."

Achal laughed at the other's expression seeing clearly that he hadn't noticed him at first, but quickly it was Achal's turn to look surprise. He couldn't help another chuckle, "Yes I am Achal, so I guess that would make you my grandson. Your colors mean you obviously Ban'ma's grandson as well, but it doesn't tell me which of my son's sired you."

Achal sat looking over the young male, "Did he send you this way? My son's are returning slowly from the rogue lands, so most of them are not here. I do miss them so."

In all honesty, Talis was a little disappointed. As much as he liked to begrudge the hands that fate had dealt him, he was actually looking forward to bursting into the pride like a strong, handsome, rogue looking for his long lost kin. Hell, maybe he would have even scored if they liked him enough. He mentally shrugged. Well, at least he wouldn't be in the area for much longer.

"My father mentioned my grandmother, but he never said her name." He shrugged. It must have slipped the old goats mind. "Oh, right, sorry. His name is Zaid." Just how many sons did this guy have, anyway?

And now was when things became a little awkward. Talis actually felt bad for the guy; no one should have to know that their son had moved on in life, and into one that didn't include their family. "He did. Father actually wanted me to give you a message." Talis paused and took a deep breath, then exhaled on a sigh. "He's not returning. He and Ramiz were caught in a massive storm that swept Ramiz down river. Father looked for him, but..." He shook his head. "No luck. He's...well, he's dead. And Father isn't returning because he couldn't face his family with his brother's blood on his paws."

Achal laughed nodding, noticing that yes, the male did resemble Zaid. "Well now you know, her name is Ban'ma and she is where your pale color comes from." It was all very jovial and sureal, it made Achal feel optimistic for the future.

That was of course until the male continued to talk, spewing the most awful news like it was a morning scouting report. His eyes went wide and his expression clearly read hurt. When he met the male he certainly had expected to hear that another member of his family had died. It was an awful feeling, just as he was coming to terms with Tsu's death. Ramiz was so young.

He just sat there silent, not knowing what to say and not knowing what he would tell Ban'ma. The had been thinking more cubs and the thought was still tentative, and now Achal wondered what they would do.

He stood and turned toward the pride lands, "come with me."
