For her last morning, Mitzi decided to take one last run at the Toxic Cave. With everything else that had happened, she didn't really feel up to sparring with any Horsemen, and it was the one of the training exercises available that she felt she had done well on before.
The elevator clanked to a stop, and Mitzi stepped out to see the familiar cave. As she saw gas starting to billow into the room, she began to run forward.

When Mitzi found herself in front of a pit again, she didn't remember how her previous run of the cave went. Clearly if she jumped straight down, that would be fastest, right? But just like last time, the pit was deeper than she expected, and she injured her legs. She took a few stumbling steps, trying to get her knees working again, but she wasn't going to be running as fast as she needed.

Mitzi remembered the part with the underwater tunnel, and managed not to swim down the wrong passageway this time. However, after the long roundabout way she had gone before, she had no clue how far she needed to go to get out. She ended up guessing she was done too early, and swimming upward, bumping her head.
She almost coughed out her whole lungful of air, but stopped herself in time, swimming on and bursting out of the water to sweet, sweet... poisonous air. Ugh. Gotta keep moving.

After that, she spent a little time lost in the tunnels, but at least the air here seemed fresher. She finally recognized something, and found her way back towards the end of the tunnel.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be the exact same tunnel as before, with the same spider. It hadn't finished respinning its Halloweener-sized web, but it certainly seemed to remember the Reaper ghoul, even if she didn't remember it. She felt it start climbing on her, and it bit her several times before she could get it off. On top of everything else, that turned out to be too much. She started to feel woozy, and curled up, hoping that would at least keep the spider from coming back.
She didn't even notice when someone carried her from the cave.
