There were rumors stirring about that there were ghosts in the mists off in a distant land. Such things as ghosts peeked Kaipo's interests. She her self had not been gifted with the vision of the seers but maybe if she were to find one of these ghosts they could guide her. Admittedly, it was a long shot. Kaipo had nothing to go on but rumors. These rumors had gradually become an obsession so much so that now she was actually traveling far and wide to find the answer her self.

Of course this meant traveling through strange lands on her way to her destination. For the most part, Kaipo had been able to avoid many pride territories. But now she was getting a little cocky and traveling a little close to the scents of strange lions. Maybe this was impart the learning curiosity in her or maybe it was young foolishness. None the less the female traveled on light paws.

User Image All the recent excitement within the pride was a sharp contrast to its normal tranquility. The wedding had brought the entire pride together, all the houses and all the members that had ears to hear the invitation had shown up to witness the union of their new empress to their emperor. It had been a grand event but a terribly humbling one. He was descended from a noble line, one that came directly from the high house itself. Unfortunately- his birth was an illegitimate one. It was a quiet veil of shame that he bore on his shoulders, determined to lift by any means necessary. His father wouldn't give him the time of day. It had wounded him but at the same time it drove him like nothing else could.

So it was that Zhao Yun fled the pride's territories- at least for the day -to simply find himself some peace and quiet in which to reflect. He laid by the small stream that ran along the boarder with one of his paws dipped into the cool waters. His eyes were closed as he tipped his head upwards. A disturbed pool reflected nothing...

The sound of running water attracted the attention of Kaipo. She followed the sound through the thick of the flora until she finally happened upon the stream. Daintily she took a small paw step out of the brush, looked around, and then allowed her self to head for the stream and dip her head for a cool drink. It was wise to drink water when ever it was available. She was not familiar with the route she was taking and so water was an important resource to take advantage of. The mostly white lion greedily lapped up as much water as she could until she had her fill. Then she let her self have a rest and lay on her side at the edge of the small stream. It was then that she saw the other white lion. His pelt was almost a perfect white save the marking on his rump. To say the least, Kaipo was interested.

"What brings you out here?" She rolled to her belly and lifted her head.

Jayvyn had heard the female's approach but she hardly looked threatening. She approached with a neutral stride and an even look on her face. A rogue wasn't an uncommon sight in the area, certainly, but most just went their way after a rest or a short drink of water. His own bloodline carried in it rogue's blood. Perhaps a passer-by had taken a fancy to his father.

"I live here." He answered evenly. "Nearby anyway. And you?"

"Passing through," She cocked a brow at him for a moment. Kaipo knew he was asking for her name but she was being a little bit difficult. That was part of the game after all. "Just passing through and headed else where. May I ask are you from a pride around these parts?" That would answer her question on the strong scent of lion in the air.

"Might I ask if your just passing through too ~" She got up and stretched and started her way towards the male. Not to close of course, but close enough to engage him in conversation.

"There is a pride just a few miles from here." He informed her, raising his chin slightly. "They are a proud bunch but if you have no quarrels with them then they will have none with you. My lords and ladies are merciful and wise. They will be slow to assume malice from an outsider."

He leaned back a little and drew his paw out of the water. She didn't seem hostile, but he could never be too sure. It was always best to air on the side of caution. "Oh no, I live among the pride. I simply needed a place to sit in silence for a time."

So she had been right that there was a pride of some sort near by. It was good to hear the pride was not hostile. You could never be sure some days what sort of pride a traveler might happen upon. She had heard rumors of devilish prides and prides that enjoyed taking females in to captivity and prides that were even worse then that. There was a small sigh of relief.

"Thats good to hear," She instantly trusted this male which may or may not have been wise. He was, after all, a stranger. "I'm just passing through to investigate rumors of spirits and ghosts in the mist. If the rumors are true I'd like to learn all the knowledge I can from them. " She took a seat. "Might I ask why you needed the silence?" She was prodding a little now.

Yun had never heard of such things...ghosts in the mists? It sounded like a fairy tale that the elders would tell the cubs to keep them from crossing over the border. It was intriguing though. It might be that the rumors were seeded early on to gain the fear and awe of the outside world. It certainly worked if that was the case.

The question earned a sheepish smirk. "My pride is celebrating the union of our emperor to a new empress. It's a grand event that brought all of us together but so many voices in one place does get a little difficult to appreciate for extended amounts of time."

The sheepish smile earned him a smile from the female. A royal wedding sounded interesting but the female could understand wanting to gather ones thoughts. Some times to many could be counter productive and a bit of an annoyance.

"That sounds exciting ~" She could not hide her excitement from her voice. Events in general offered a lot in the ways of fun. "But.. I understand the need to get away every once in a while... Maybe I could keep you a little company as I rest."

"Exciting yes, but excitement and exhausting often keep eachother company." He smiled a little and slowly moved himself over to provide some room beside him. "I would not be objected to some company. Perhaps you might tell me where it is that you come from?"

He glanced over to the female's pale form and offered her a smile. "If it is not forbidden that is. I hear tell of prides that are sworn to secrecy."

Kaipo took the liberty of taking a seat beside the white male. She admired his coat from the corner of her eye. It was so white and .. except for a black marking on his back he was nearly all pure. This was enough for Kaipo.

There was an ear flick when he asked about her pride.

"Oh. I come from a pride where lighter pelts are preferred. Like yours," There was no hiding anything in the females voice, " I don't really like to go on and on about that sort of thing though. I'm more interested in you." Oh she was very interested. The greed and plotting in her eyes had already begun to spin.

Like his? He glanced over his coat and gave a short shrug of his shoulders. His father had been nearly all black and his mother had been a handsome shade of dusty brown, almost rusty in parts. He was, more or less, the oddball of the litter but he had no complaints. A white warrior served him just right. He was easily identified among his pride members, for better or for worse.

Unfortunately for Kaipo, the young male was ignorant in the ways of love. The pass was taken as a general complement though he did have the good sense to smile. "Well I could tell you a thing or two of my pride. Here, pelt color means very little. It's about who you were birthed to be. What family, what house, what caste."

The male did not get her first hint. Kaipo felt frustration creep up her spine and down her gut. So this male was going to be tougher then she thought. To be fair, this was the first time she'd ever made a pass at a lion. Kaipo was very choosy in who she kept in her company.

"Who your born to mmm? " She wanted to protest and say that it didn't matter who you were born to. Mortals mattered for nothing it was the god chosen that mattered. But she refrained from that.

"Thats very interesting. We don't share the same views but its interesting. What does your pride view outsiders as mmm?" Kaipo moved in a little closer, "Keeping company with strangers I mean? Is that bad or ...." She was inches away from his face giving this her all.

"Oh yes, lineage is very important where I come from. A good family carries with it honor, strength, and nobility. It is our role to uphold the honor of our families and serve our emperor well. We can hope that the emperor will voice his personal praise to our family for our efforts, or we can hope to serve our pride and house well."

He leaned back a bit, his eyes going wide as the female leaned in. Closely. Very closely.

"...oh well... I would suspect not! My mother was a stranger to these lands- and here I am after all."

"Oh yes family is very important," A smile was curling on the females plotting maw. She touched her forehead to the males being as obvious as possible to what it was she wanted more then anything. She'd found a white lion almost as white as snow. Almost.

"See linage is important to me too. Seeing you .. your perfect and of course I AM too. So....." She kept her forehead to his, "I need your help~" There was that smile again.
