On the shores of Makko Town, dawn was just about to break, though the sun had not yet risen above the horizon that was the vast sea. A young girl, perhaps about the age of 12 or 13 lay on the bare sand, staring up at the deep blue sky as the stars began to wink out, one by one. It was like gazing underwater up at the underbelly of some cosmic Wailord that swam overhead.
"Por. Vaporeon," came a cry from the gently-lapping water.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm awake," the girl murmured, though her gaze was still focused above rather than the water-type at the water's edge. That changed when a big, fat, floundering Remoraid soared through the air to slap her in the face.
"Ow!" she cried, sitting up immediately. "Fathom, I'm not hungry yet! We'll eat later. The sun hasn't even come up yet, and it's so pretty out." She glanced at the Remoraid that had fallen to the sand beside her. "Look at that sky."
Fathom had come up to it and slapped it back into the sea with his own tail. If he and his trainer weren't going to eat yet, then there was little point. He liked his food either fresh or cooked, and if his day-dreaming trainer was going to spend her next few hours with that look in her eye, chances were his fishing would have been for nothing.
Not that Tymiko owned any fire-types anyway; she was deathly afraid of getting burned. "Poreon," he sighed in a resigned manner, curling his tail around himself as he dropped to the ground beside her. The sun would be rising in a few minutes anyway. If she wasn't back to Earth by then, well...he always had his tail to splash cold water on her.
It was almost pathetic how often he'd had to do that to break her out of her trances, and ever since they'd arrived on Kodo - a region new to them both - it had only gotten worse. Everything was new and wondrous to the girl, and she was in no rush to take it all in.

Makko town was the farthest point in Kodo from Camphoreon, not only on the map, but in the style of the town as well. Camphoreon was busy and fast paced, with large buildings and busy streets, Makko however, was more what a vacation spot would be considered. The buildings were more scattered, and humble, giving the seaside village a quiet, relaxing feel.
A very trainer welcome town, where many new children in Kodo could find the start to their adventure with pokemon. For trainers, this was a precious place to be, and to Rosie symbolized the hope that Kodo would grow as an important part of the league, and turn out pokemon masters to make their island proud. It stood for a hope that they stood a chance that they could beat the Team Rocket threat on her home region.
A tropical style cottage by the sea side had been rented out by Rosie and her friends, giving them a place to stay for the weekend during their stay in Makko town. The reasons for the visit varied, for recreation, for training, for some fresh air, or for some support and scouting of new trainers, It honestly didn't matter to Rosie, she would see where the day took her, so long as she was spending time with her friends.
The day started early for the young women, the sun had just barely started to paint the sky in lighter shades of blue. A note was scribbled out on the white board by the cottage door, in case anyone who was in the cabin didn't know where she had gone to.
"Good morning~ I'm taking a walk on the beach, not going far- Rosie and Kiss Kiss~" The note was decorated with XOXO and a couple of hearts, just in case anyone had any question if it was really Rosie who wrote it or not.
The air smelled sweet, and warm, the wind from the sea bustled past her, tossing her curled blond hair around her face playfully, and dancing with the shawl she had wrapped around her shoulders, hugging her arms to her chest to keep it from being tossed from her. She strolled along the beach in bare feet, a pare of shorts and a tank top fitting on her small frame. Her Pikachu, Kiss Kiss was bounding along around her, taking a much more active role of exploring the sand as the sun started to make its slow climb int he sky. Though making sure to stay away from the water.
Rosie watched her with a gentle smile on her face, but took clear notice of the avoidance of the waves. A soft look of sadness fell over her blue eyes- she had no pokemon who enjoyed the water, and that lead to thoughts of Vany'n... Rosie could almost see the Vaporeon, swimming through the waves with ease and grace. her beautiful form splayed out on the beach, just... enjoying the environment.
Rosie blinked and stopped walking. Wait... that Vaporeon wasn't in her head, she was actually looking at a Vaporeon who was now splayed on the beach, next to a young girl.
"Pika?" Kiss seemed to notice this as well, and she perked her ears up.

Fathom's fin ears perked at the soft sound of Rosie's footsteps in the sand. He looked up immediately, tilting his head with a soft, "Por?" But his trainer seemed to remain oblivious right up until the Pikachu spoke up.
"Oh! Hi there!" the girl cried, sitting up at the sight of the newcomers. "I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone else was around. Am I trespassing or something?" She hadn't seen any signs, really, but perhaps it was private property. Then again, maybe spending the night on the beach just wasn't one of those things that was permitted on Kodo. Who knew?
Getting up, the young trainer dusted the sand off her clothes and unfolded the bottom of her capris where the sand had collected before refolding them. Only then did she approach Rosie with an extended hand and a bright smile. "I'm Tymiko. I just thought I'd lie here and watch the sun rise.
Did you come to see it too?" She glanced out to see at the beginning tell-tale first rays of dawn. "I love the way the light shimmers on the waves...and it would be my first Kodo sunrise besides," the girl added, shifting from foot to foot subconsciously. She didn't seem able to keep still for long; not now that she was out of her day-dreaming trance.

That... Vaporeon, was beautiful the sudden sigh of it literally caught Rosie's breath in her chest, though, that might not have been from the water types beauty alone... but the reminder of another beautiful Vaporeon she held close to her heart.
The girl that was with the pokemon was quick on her feet, and talking to Rosie, catching the blond trainer off guard but she couldn't help but giggle and give the younger girl a smile. such full of life, and very adorable.
"Hello Tymiko, its not to meet you~ My name is Rosie." she held a hand out toward the girl. "And no, I'm pretty sure this is a public beach , I didn't mean to startle you or anything." following the dark haired girls glance over to the sky, before feeling a weight on her shoulder as Kiss Kiss jumped up onto Rosie. "I agree, Makko town has some of the most beautiful sunrises, I don't get to enjoy them very often, but when I'm here, I try and wake up extra early to catch them." a brighter smile spread over her lips "This is your first time on Kodo? well welcome! this my home region," She glanced to the Vaporeon "Are you here for training?"

Shaking Rosie's hand enthusiastically, the cheerful child laughed. "That's okay; it was my fault. I just get distracted and lose track of what goes on around me sometimes."
Putting her hands on her knees, she bent over to greet the little Pikachu. "Oh!" Before she chose to hop onto her trainer's shoulder, that was. Tymiko giggled. "What a cute Pikachu. Never seen cheeks like those before."
The girl seemed to take the comment about Makko town somewhat seriously. Her gaze drifted back to the ocean horizon. "Really? Well then I guess I'd better enjoy it while I can. I'm planning to travel inland pretty soon. Not sure when I'll get to see another view like this; especially with the light reflected on the water."
Turning her full attention to Rosie, the water trainer clasped her hands behind her back and restlessly began to rock back and forth on her heels. "Yup! And thank you! It's a pleasure to be here."
By then, Fathom had come up beside the two ladies and was using the rays of the sun to his advantage. After all, the light really touched on his good side, and at this angle he'd be able to show off his finned tail to that lovely electric creature perched on the other human's shoulder. He smiled, dipping his head in greeting, but in a relatively casual manner. He didn't seem to be in much of a hurry to get breakfast anymore; not now that they had company to pass the time with.
"Yeah...Fathom here and I just met recently right on this beach, but he's been a sweetheart. I haven't tried battling with him yet, but I've trained a few pokemon before and I think we'd be ready to take someone on." There was a sparkle in her eye as she stated this, something sparking from the concept of friendly competition. "How come? Are you here for training too?"

Unbeknownst to Rosie, not everyone had been asleep when she left at such an early hour. Giselle was normally always out - it was a rare occurrence when Seraphine locked her away in her ball - probably because she liked to watch things. She liked to watch and to observe, usually, and to interfere when necessary or when asked. For the time being, however, she needn't interfere, so she happened to see Rosie writing on the board, followed her at a polite distance as she made her way to the beach, and now that Rosie had found another human, Giselle was busy observing the pair interact, as well as their pokemon. She knew all about Kiss Kiss, of course, but this Vaporeon was new. Interesting, unique coat that seemed to match his trainer's eyes, who was also new to the ghost. She liked new things.
It had, however, been long enough, and the time spent observing them was bordering on 'rude' from 'impolite', so the ghost decided enough was enough. A pair of pinkish, red eyes materialized off to the side, followed by a white head and a moment later, an albino Mismagius had appeared near Rosie. She watched the other trainer and her Vaporeon for a few more moments before directing her gaze to the blond girl she knew. "Mismaaaygius?" She inquired in curious tones, one of her long ghostly tendrils floating up to point in Tymiko's direction.

When the girl looked back at Rosie, something was appearing in the air next to her, catching Tymiko by surprise. In a moment, it was revealed to be a lovely white Mismagius with red eyes bordering on pink. She seemed to be albino. The girl's face lit up, but she had to visibly resist the urge to go over and hug the newcomer.
"That Mismagius - she's beautiful," Ty told Rosie, assuming the pokemon was hers. She seemed to match the older teen's color theme, after all. "Hello," she greeted the ghost pokemon shyly, offering a little wave. Her excitement at meeting so many new and unique pokemon was barely concealed. Her fidgeting became slightly more erratic.
Fathom sighed. His young trainer really didn't know how to keep her emotions to herself. It was almost embarrassing how she wore her heart on her sleeve; not dignified at all. Then again, she was young and energetic - something he preferred to all the elegance and dignity in the world.
This vaporeon was a fighter and he had yet to show what he could do. He had avoided humans who would have caught him simply for contests and show for so long. It was about time he'd found one that would help him prove he could be more than just a pretty face.
Catching sight of the new female pokemon, Fathom waved his tail and winked at the ghost, feeling a little cheeky and wondering how she would take his unorthodox greeting.

Shizuo wasn't one to get up before the sun normally unless he had a job to do but this time he had a rather enthusiastic Spinirak demand beach time. It didn't take too long after that for Shizuo to be dressed in swimwear and was being shoved/carried to the sand by an excited Metagross. "Is it really necessary?" He grumped at them. His only response was a spider squeal of glee when Maiko saw they were the only ones up.
"" The odd colored bug type yelled at the small group, waving her front arms around. Kasuka gave a deadpan look at the Spinirak on Shizuo's head. "" It was too early for hyper spiders that should at least wait until the glorious sun is up.

Rosie giggled as Kiss was complemented, the Pikachu equally as pleased as she put on a bashful look, but smiled brightly at the girl, reaching out for the other human. "Chaaa~"
"This is Kiss Kiss~ She was the first pokemon I ever caught on my own." Rosie reached up to take the Pikachu off of her shoulder, and hold her out so she could greet Tymiko.
Fathom was introduced, the beautiful pokemon that was with the girl. blue eyes turned down to him, and greeted him with a gentle smile, before she lowered herself to a knee, holding her hand out. "Hello Fathom, its nice to meet you." She told him.
The news that Tymiko was going to travel inland drew more concern from Rosie, but she smiled and looked up. pausing before she could say anything with the arrival of the Ghost type. Rosie greeted her with a smile. "Hi Giselle! couldn't sleep either?" she asked, reaching out to greet her friend's pokemon. "Sera looked sound asleep before I left, I bet she's still asleep huh?" The blond trainer glanced around to make sure. but of course, Sera was still sleeping back at the lodge. Who she DID see, was Shizuo.
Rosie smiled brightly, and waved an arm out for her friend. "Shizuuuooo!" she called.
"in answer to your question Tymiko, yes, I'm a trainer," she smiled "its a group of us actually, we're here from the City on the far side to travel around, get some new settings."

Giselle watched the young trainer and the coy Vaporeon with a mildly curious expression. Fathom's greeting was met with a single blink before the ghost dismissed him and his trainer to greet Rosie instead. Was her Mistress still sleeping? Obviously. Seraphine was not an early riser, not in the least. "Maaaygius," Giselle cooed in quiet, breathless tones as she extended a pink-tipped ghostly tendril to wrap around Rosie's extended hand in greeting. She liked her Mistress's friends now - it had taken a while to warm up to all of them, including her Mistress, of course, but it was worth it. Newcomers, however, were another story. They had the potential to disappear after the initial encounter and never be seen again, or to become best friends to run into on a daily basis. They needed to prove which they were before Giselle would even consider them as anything more than a stranger.

((Please tell me if the text is too bright or is bothersome in any way!))
Momentarily distracted by a tall man with several pokemon, Tymiko put a hand over her mouth to stifle some giggles. At Kiss Kiss's reaction to her compliment, though the girl looked delighted and was positively ecstatic when Rosie held her out.
It was incredibly difficult to resist the temptation to squeeze the adorable electric mouse, but as a water trainer, the girl knew this if nothing else. Electric-types, particularly Pikachu, were not pokemon that were wise to squeeze.
"That's wonderful," she commented softly, carefully taking Kiss Kiss in her arms. "So you two must have been together a long time, huh?" she asked the pokemon, tapping the Pikachu's nose lightly.
Fathom, meanwhile, was enjoying the attention from Rosie as she held out her hand. Instead of meeting it, however, he went up to her leg as she knelt in the sand and arched up against her affectionately, like a feline. He could already tell he liked this lady a lot, but the formalities he just found silly.
The cheerful girl didn't seem to notice Rosie's concern at all, too busy trying to see if Kiss Kiss was ticklish. She did, however, look up when the blonde trainer addressed the Mismagius. "Sera...?" she repeated softly, but didn't ask, afraid of being too nosy. Did that mean the ghost didn't belong to Rosie after all...?
Just then, though, Rosie was calling out to the man in swimming trunks, referring to him as 'Shizuo'. She knows that guy? There must have been a whole lot of trainers around here, and with someone as charismatic as this young woman, she must have known most if not all of them. Ty's smile wavered, feeling slightly uneasy, before Rosie was talking to her again.
"Oh, a group?" she repeated. That explained a lot. "Wow, that sounds...nice." Attempting to keep up her smile, she held Kiss Kiss back out to her owner. "How many of you are there...?"
Fathom didn't seem entirely put off by Giselle's dismissal of him; he merely shrugged and continued to smile. Maybe she was a snob or maybe she had trust issues. Who was he to judge? Wasn't his problem.
