The infirmary was filled, wounded Hunters moving back and forth, a few Moon Hunters yelling hasty instructions as others snapped impatiently at them, requesting water, bandages, first aid supplies -

- Supplies, there was so few of them now, they needed more supplies.

"We need water, first and foremost." A haggard looking Moon Hunter was busy stitching a wound closed as she talked, blood steadily dripping down her fingers, "And-"

"-I got it." While most beds were at this point shared, there was one, despite the attendants, that only had one Hunter. He got up, keeping a firm pressure on the gauze on his right arm. "The first supplies tent we set up, we'll go there." The Sun division leader's eye were clouded. They had been ambushed there on the very first day. "I'll bring backup, whatever we can spare." He got up, ignoring his own injuries, "Yo, trainees!" This was one of the few times he didn't call them shinigami, "We're gonna go salvage supplies and water, you're coming with us."

Allan nodded to Simon on the way out, the two of them making it to the perimeter of the outpost. The Sun lead signaled for the other trainees around to gather, waiting a few moments. He still talked slowly, casually, but without the whimsical insertion of his usual character: judging just from the two leads' wounds and the few Hunters who made it back, it was easy to tell that they were fighting a losing battle on dangerous grounds.

"Okay, plan is simple." Allan used the tip of his sword to draw a really awful wobbly circle on the sand. "This is our base camp." He made a little dot a little away from the 'base camp'. "This is where we're gonna go. Pick up anything you can find, supplies, water canteens, any salvageable equipment and weap-" He cut himself off. "Well, we'll watch over the area as well, make sure everything is safe. If you see anything odd or discoloured moving around, anything that does not look like sand, you yell as loud as you can alright?"

Cass wasn't excited to get moving again. She probably looked the most anxious she had possibly...ever. Normally she was the one just sitting next to people and trying to make them feel alright. But she wasn't even looking around at other people. All Cass was doing was wringing her hand in Nicodemus's chain as she went to follow Allan out of the tent and get instructions.

Instructions to get moving.

Still. Salvage? She could handle Salvage, right?... Right?

God.

She needed to focus. She forced herself to watch the diagram being drawn, giving it an intense look. They were going out to somewhere. Probably a somewhere with..dead hunters again. God, she was so sick of seeing dead bodies. But what could she do in the meantime to keep people alive?

She had no idea.

But Cass needed to suck it up. She took a deep breath and put on her best poker face she could. She needed to do this for herself, but if she kept worrying she was going to die. She didn't want that.

Clerise was...at peace with herself, as well as her very likely fate. The silence was still telling, but she...had a little hope, at least.

Balthazar wasn't a tablet, and at the very least, and she wasn't dead.

It meant she could live to fight another day.

Clerise waved at Allan, listening to him talk, observing the terrible little circle in the sand.

Would the onslaught of bugs ever end? Was there a queen they needed to kill, or something? The redhead pushed her concerns aside, deciding to focus instead.

The Sun assistant was not wearing a jacket, the ambush having resulted in it's destruction. Reduced to perfectly pressed pants, a white long sleeve shirt, and a perfectly knotted black tie, Simon looked ready for....a day the office. Well except for the guns in his hand and killing aura surrounding him. As Allan explained the situation, the blonde looked at several of the trainees and then held up one of the handguns.

The message was pretty clear: do not waste time, do not bring further trouble, do not cause Allan to get harmed any further. I would really like to shoot you right now and just do it all myself, but alas, we are nakama.

Tracey's exasperation shone through in his comment as they were shifted out of the infirmary to make room for more injured hunters, he'd been hoping to convince Rep to rest up to try and catch up with his injuries a little but it wasn't to be.

He eyed Allan with real concern as the man spoke to them. Gone was his perky joking exterior, revealing a more serious, earnest man underneath. Things didn't seem to be going well. The cookies had been a mere breath of fresh air in a dismal situation and once again things were on that horrible slippery slope towards destruction.

Supplies. Okay he could do that.

He nodded obediently, resisting the urge to ask questions. Doubly so when he caught sight of Simon, guns in hand.

He felt like a child. Useless and a burden. If he survived, he'd do everything to make sure he was never a burden again. He didn't leave right away though, he lingered just long enough to catch any questions he hadn't thought of that were asked by smarter people. And to see what direction people were heading in.

Molly was ready for the new assignment, despite all the circumstances around it not exactly being enlightening. She fretted as she took in the appearance of Allan, and seeing the infirmary full wasn’t good either but…she needed to do what she could! She needed to bring back as many supplies as possible to help ou—

Weap—

…Weapons? Oh dear.

The Mist trainee frowned as she tugged her hood down over her face some more. Bummer. Tablets. That meant that…She shook her head a bit. No, she needed to keep positive. It was unfortunate, but she needed to recover tablets to for future hunters! As she waited for any possibly further instructions, she commended herself for remembering to put on sun screen this time.

Tedan had actually been asleep when all the commotion about salvage started, not even having noticed that he was now sharing a cot. When Allan yelled, though, he sat up - too quickly - and almost knocked his cot-mate off. "Sorry," he muttered, blinking a few times. At least it seemed like he'd gotten enough rest to heal up. Or someone bandaged him or ... something.

Getting up, he snatched up his coat and moved over toward the Sun leader. "I'm ready," he said simply. Maybe they would all die. But if this could help in the larger fight ....

Sherry shuffled out of the infirmary tent with the others. Salvage mission, okay. She could help with that. She listened as Allan explain the task, and gave warnings.

Armagnac sounded a bit down.

Things could be going better, Sherry replied, glancing around. But they needed those supplies. Even if gathering them was not going to be a walk in park.

Jude was happy to get moving. He was ready for it. He didn't take standing around and 'waiting' for the next thing to happen very well. He got restless and when he got restless he got a bit reckless and started doing stupid things, like probably going out on patrols on his own and seeing how long he lasted or similar things that had awful consequences for everyone involved and not just him.

He listened quietly to the 'plan'. Salvage things? Sure he could do that. He could salvage everything that was needed to salvage. After glancing around the young man gave a small frown but said nothing. Hopefully the sand wouldn't cover everything up before they got to it. It'd be a shame to waste some of the equipment because it got hidden from them due to Mother Nature being a b***h.

He adjusted his cowl a little bit to push it off of his head for the time being so he could get a good look at things around him.

Wilson actually found it weird to have Allan simply refer to them as regular trainees rather than shinigami. In fact, this Allan wasn’t the crazy Allan he was accustomed to. This wasn’t the Allan that had run him over and thrown him at least forty feet. The difference only served to unsettle him even more as he tentatively made his way toward the division leader. He uneasily shifted in place as he noticed not only Allan’s wounds, but the injuries the other remaining hunters toted as well. Wilson forced himself to smile, but it only worked for a second. He barely caught the words ‘salvage’ and ‘you’re coming’ when he decided now was a rather nice time to pay attention.

Somehow, he managed to crack another smile at the wobbly attempt of a circle, but began to frown when he wondered what the shaky lines implied about Allan’s injuries. He shook his head again when he realized he still wasn’t focusing. Wilson watched Allan draw out a dot, nodding his head at each item Allan listed off until it came to the last. Weap…He knitted his brows together. Weapon? Weapons? Suddenly there was a sinking feeling in his stomach. His voice was quiet when he answered, “Yessir.”

Backrub over. Harrison slapped the rest of the sunscreen from his hands on his own face and neck.

And yeah.

Sinking feeling was back.

Bunch of dead hunters? Send the trainees in the same place to run around. Sounded about right. He hadn't desummoned B0nez since this morning. He felt better with the weapons on his hip. The Sun Hunter ranks were starting to look...thin, though. And Allan...maybe it was a Sun thing. Maybe all Suns were just instinctively stupid about critical shoulder injuries. Don't think about it. Supply retrieval.

Candace had returned from patrolling only to hear they were just...going out again. She caught sight of Allan, eyes widening at how awful he looked. He didn't even call them shinigami. That was more unsettling than anything the man ever actually said, really. She'd grown accustomed to Allan's antics, it was almost endearing...but to see him not that way..

It didn't bode well.

She was silent as she followed the leader and his assistant, pausing a moment when she realized what the hell Simon was wearing. How was he not melting in this weather?! Even Candace had taken off her coat and tied it around her waist, something she would never do normally. It was too damn hot for a coat and scarf.

...And..weap? Candace turned a horrified stare toward Allan. Weapons? Or..or tablets?

Candace felt sick. She'd been doing alright until she was reminded of their situation.

"Yes, Allan-taichou..." Candace said quietly, catching the look Simon was giving them all.

Madison's expression was taut and thin; she'd been waiting for the other shoe to drop the entire time. And it hadn't yet. And it was starting to wear on her. Perhaps she should have taken one of Julie's cookies after all, but... well.

Maybe this was it. Could it be it? Please? For the sake of her sanity? Even though a salvaging mission didn't sound too dangerous, it was at least not sitting around or dueling with a seemingly never-ending supply of bugs. She still had very little idea why they were here - why they were still here after having dispatched the obvious threat. That meant there must be another threat somewhere. And she was in the dark.

She ran her thumb over one of Kouki's beads. Salvage? Fine. She was going to salvage the s**t out of everything. "Sir? Is there likely to be any tech that needs, like, rescuing and analyzing and stuff?"

Because if there was any tech, she was going to grab it, because the Death trainee was starting to feel rather out of place. Patrols were bread and butter to Suns and Moons, and Life's role here was obvious; Mist could do all of the above. All she seemed able to do was follow the others about.

Salvage ALL the things.

Emma's brow furrowed deeply as she looked over the hastily-drawn 'map'. Supplies and... weapons. Hunters were dying by the dozens between these patrols and everything that had gone on before their wave had arrived. She couldn't think on the people that had once held those weapons... they were all just tools, every one of them, even herself. Zothikos gave a warm hum in response. Apparently it agreed.

When she looked up, Emma saw the state of the Sun lead before them. Even he was pretty severely wounded... this wasn't good.

Well, she'd thought she was going to die this mission. Might as well get on with it. The teen resummoned her weapon, holding a yo-yo in each hand. It was time to get salvaging.

The cookie's effects had worn off. Aleister was back to his twitchy we're going to die self. Looking around more than normal trying to keep an eye on all sides of him. Which was very hard to do, he ended up tripping once but picking himself almost automatically to keep from being shot by Simo and made sure he got close enough to watch the diagram being drawn.

"Yussir." He answered automatically when they mentioned grabbing things not letting his mind think about weapons or anything. The problem was the fact that things looked really bad. And... oh god, they were going to dieeee--- He saw Cass and scampered up beside her.

He looked around, waiting for a quite moment before asking Cass quietly, "Do you think the buddy system would be a good idea?" If there was two of them it'd go better right? It could be like... when they first were here.
