Leena was getting ready to close her shop for the day. She ran a rather nice little ice cream and sweet shop. She made everything from chocolates and cakes, to pies brownies and even some amazing ice cream and floats. Her shop was not just geared to the young or the young at heart. She had lots of adult only specialties and when things were slow she was just like a bartender and rather great at giving advice. She loved Mearas and knowing that she had she could help them with their troubles or give them a smile with a treat just made her night.
Currently she was walking around the front of the shop with her whipped cream hat and s small short poofy apron on. She bend down setting up display's for the next day her last customer just leaving. She rarely closed up shop early and even though she only had 20 minutes before she would close she would not shut or lock her doors early.

Peppermint had just had his whole world knocked upside down by that brutal stallion-mare. Sure he had been rejected before, but never on such a grand scale. Then to have it happen in pulic; it was more than the stallion could take. He plodded along, head hanging, jaw still throbbing. So deep in his sorrows he was that he barely noticed when he stumbled into a mare outside a shop. A bare mumble came from his lips that couldn't have been understood for anything. Peppermint went to stagger past her, not bothering to look.

Leena gasped as she felt the force of someone slam into her back. She blushed a bit and turned, "Oh I am sorry" she said knowing she must have had her backside out pretty far for someone to run into her like that. Her golden eyes fell on the distraught looking face of a handsome pale striped stallion. She felt her her cheeks darken with a trace of blush. Even though the sorrowful look did not suit him the stallion was very handsome. She saw that he started to step around her and her personality kicked back in. She reached out a hand and took ahold of one of his stripped one, "Is everything alright sir? You truely look upset." she stole a glance around to see if he was alone then she gave his hand a gentle tug. "Here come inside and I will get you something to calm you down a bit and maybe I can help you. Please follow me." Her voice was friendly and warm some where between motherly and friendly. A trusting soft of voice that was almost as sweet and the rich chocolately smell that came not only form the shop but from the mare herself.

Peppermint Bark failed to notice the mare apologizing. What he did register was her grabbing his hand. Reluctantly he turned to see who'd stopped him. The white and red male nearly looked away from the mare. That was exactly not what he needed! Her topping hat caught his eyes and he stared at it a moment. Then her words finally registered on his numb brain.
"Uh......." It was with just a hint of reluctance he followed her into a shop. He looked around with a bit more interest at the shop. It looked like.... a candy shop? Peppermint had to admit it didn't appear like a normal kid's candy shop. Some of it making him blush. Oh, that kinda shop.
"Uh miss..... I don't. I mean..... I wasn't looking for...." He coughed.

Leena saw him look up at her whipped topping and smiled. At least that seemed to gather his attention long enough for her to get him inside. She smiled and led him still by the hand to a seat closer to the long candy displays. The air was heavy with the smells of different sweets and flavors. "I know your not really looking for sweet sir, but I can whip you up something that might help ease you mind. Now just let me know what sort of trouble is plaguing your mind so I know how strong I need to make your little treat." She said with a wink.
She looked him as she started to walk behind the counter, "Lets see...could it be work? Family? A mare?" she asked starting to prepare a glass by lining the rim with sugar her eyes watching him for his reaction to each thing she suggested.

When he finally tore his eyes away from the hat, Peppermint found himself uncomfortably far inside the shop. Why had he never known this shop was here before? He sniffed suddenly to catch the scents of sweets. It smelled really good. His ears came up slightly as she seemed to understand what he was trying to say. He tentatively smiled at her wink.
Glancing around, he spotted the chair he was standing by and sat slowly into it. He shook his head at her suggestion of work. He didn't really work, unless one counted endless flirting as work. The mention of family made him pale a bit. Oh god how could he have gotten together with a stallion and had three foals. It was not something he really wanted to think about, though the foals were cute. At the mention of mare though, Peppermint Bark visibly flinched and halted his hand halfway to his chin. That point still hurt.

Leena started to make a cold float that she would add some shots too. She gave a bit of a smile, "Ah the later two huh? Both can be very hard to deal with. And don't worry I won't ask you to tell me if you don't want too. Though sometimes just getting it off your chest helps." She said her tail flicking as she worked. "Can I get you something to eat as well sir? Don't worry this is all on the house sir. So please just relax yourself." She smiled at him.

Peppermint Bark heaved a giant sigh. It was useless he might as well admit it. "I went to that event awhile go to find me a sweetheart. There was a lot of pretty mares all around. I talked to a lot of them, and I got lucky. Except it was a stallion. We had three pretty foals." His cheeks flushed a bright red. He honestly had no idea how it'd happened. Peppermint couldn't remember even meeting the male.
His green eyes glanced up at her. "No thank you. I should stick to soft foods." He gingerly rubbed his jaw. "There was a pretty mare out in the field and I invited her to get a drink. Well we were sitting there talking, but in the end she decked me and stormed out." Peppermint sat awhile looking down at his hands. He wasn't sure what had gone wrong. Finally he looked up at Lenna. "Why are you doing this?"

Listening without a word to the first part of his story Leena finished up the drink and moved around the counter towards him with a fancy and refreshing spiked float. She made her way towards the table and set it down in front of him as he started to talk about the second problem. It was only when he asked his question that she actually spoke instead of just giving nods or soft listening sounds, "Well to answer your question first, I guess I like seeing people smile and knowing I help put that there. Same reason I work at a sweets' shop. You looked very trouble so I thought I would try and help. If you want something a bit stronger I can whip something up for you. The alcohol in this is pretty hard to taste so be careful." She smiled at him and headed towards the counter again.
"Oh yes that Valentines Day event? I think I remember seeing you there. You were quiet the hit with the ladies. I guess you must have drawn some stallion's eye as well. Your quiet a sweet treat if you don't mind me saying. I would not be surprised if you didn't seem him watching you." She started getting him a plate of soft things ready. Are you a family man sir? I am sure your foals are very sweet as well. Though I can understand that looking at them from time to time could remind you of the night you can't remember."
She had a rather gentle but friendly air about her. She was perfect for a sweet shop, not only because she was dressed for the part. "Oh mares can be so fickle sometimes. The pretties ones can sometimes be the most...difficult. I can get you something cold for your face it you like. It looks like your starting to bruise some. We should try to minimize it so you can get right back into what I have seen you being good at."

Peppermint looked reluctantly at the drink before trying it. He blinked as it was pretty good. Idally he turned the glass in his hands and listened to her. Well someone who frowned didn't have a right to be in a sweet shop. The male was surprised that she'd taken an interest in a stranger.
"Ah no thanks. This is good." He flushed slightly. "No I wasn't. The females spurred me." Peppermint couldn't figure out what other had that he didn't. "I wasn't trying to attract a stallion though!" His eyes flashed with anguish before he ducked his head. He didn't asnwer for awhile and sipped on his drink. "I never gave thought to family before. Oh they are. The twins are absolutely adorable."
The male gave a suffering sigh. Oh he knew they could be fickle. He wished sometimes they weren't. He gave a small nod, accepting something cold for his face. Not that it would really matter. He had no luck with females.

Leena gave a nod and then a slight sigh, "I don't see how any mare could spur such a looker as you. I mean unless you have a horrible personality. But from what I see of you right now I don't think you have a bad personality." She smiled and poured herself a drink, non alcoholic though, "I have found we often attract those we don't know or don't even want."
She smiles, "I am sure they are dolls. And though you might not have wanted them or even know how it happened, it does seem that you have a slight bit of pride when you talk about them." Leena gave a nod and slipped into the back to get something cold for Peppermint.
She returned shortly after with a bag of frozen berries. She then crossed the short distance towards him and smiled, "Here I shall just place it on your face. It will be a bit chilly." She leaned forward and carefully placed the bag on his bruised face. "Well on behalf of my sex I am sorry we are so difficult. And I hope that the next time you go to bed a mare she wont end up a stallion."

"I don't either, but I swear they do." He glanced mournfully at her as she mentioned a horrible personality. Was he really that bad? It cheered him slightly as she affirmed that he wasn't. One was a start. Her observation on his reaction to his foals left him startled. He was proud of them; no matter their origins.
Peppermint blushed slightly as she applied the cold berries to his face. "I got it, thanks." His hand reached up to grab the bag and brushed against hers slightly. "It's no problem miss. I guess I'm kind of use to it." He gave a startled laugh and nodded. "You and me both."
He looked at her and gave a small smile. "Thank you Leena. I do feel a bit better now."

Leena smiled warmly at Peppermint as he blushed a bit at her kindness. She gave a gentle laugh as their hands touched for just a moment. He had a very gentle touch. "Oh no we can't have you getting used to it. I don't know why anyone would do this to someone like you. You seem like a very nice Stallion. I don't think I would say no." She winked and went back over to get herself her drink then came back to sit across from him.
"I am very glad to hear that your feeling better. And very glad I could be a bit of help to you." She nods, "If you ever feel down again just come on by and let me know. I will try to cheer you back up."

He couldn't help but wonder what he was doing wrong with all the other mares? As far as he could tell, he hadn't done anything different here. Other than the fact he hadn't tried to woo her in any way. She had come out to him. Peppermint realized then that it was her job that probably prompted that reaction. And his return services if he was treated nice now. He gave a suffering sigh. Why him?
His green eyes glanced up at her. "Well... I guess I can keep trying. There's sure to be one, and I just have to find her." He gave a nervous laugh as she winked. She was just teasing him, hoping he'd come back to her shop. It really wasn't a bad place. With that drink inside him, he was actually feeling pretty cozy now. This wouldnt' be so bad to get use to.
"Um yeah. Thanks again." Now for the really awkward moment. "How much do I owe you for drink and the..." he gestured quickly to the bag of berries against his face, "the berries?" Peppermint nodded. "I think I will. You have a very nice shop here."

Leena watched him thinking. He really did look so very troubled and destroyed. It did sounds like he had a whole lot of troubling this running threw his mind. She hated to see anyone so upset.
She met his eyes with her own gentle golden ones. "Well that is all one can expect. We need to keep trying even if our hearts break and our pride gets dashed. If we don't try to find them we will never be able to find the special someone in our lives." She reached out to softly touch his hand on the table. "Please don't give up though. You will find one soon. But you have to say that if it to be worth it is worth it to work for."
She shook her head, "No please don't worry about it. You looked like you needed both. So it is on the house this time. But your more than welcome to come back some other day and pay." She smiled and sipped on her own drink. "Thank you kindly for liking my shop. It has been a dream of mine to run a sweet shop like this." She smiled and gave a laugh, "Well I guess I could give you a tour if you like sometime."
