The Observation Point General Setting:The Observation Point is the highest point of the entire Clan structures, seated at the very tip of the highest tree. The climb up is precarious, and can only be managed for the flightless on a single, swaying ladder. Even then, the flight up is covered in thick and dangerously sharp branches, spears, and other weapons, just to emphasize facing the obstacles. In fact, it is so difficult to make it up, that one climbing must be aware of all obstacles, and overcome them before reaching the top. OOC: EVENT ROLLS AND PROMPT MECHANICS: - When your student has arrived in this setting, you can CHOOSE to roll a 100-sided dice at any point in time. They are NOT at the observation point top yet, they need to roll to get there. You can only do this twice per RP you make. Match your dice roll to the results below for a prompt/ small reaction that your student may discover. RP out results accordingly. 1-20: While climbing upwards with the ladder, as you do not want to brave the spears, you look down. The ground is so very far down. you begin to loose your nerve a bit, and remain stuck. 21 - 40: The ladder begins to sway and shake precariously, as suddenly a gust of wind billows to one side, causing anyone airborne to also grab a hold onto that ladder for dear life. You can practically see your life flashing before your eyes (again) as you almost get impaled by a sharp spear. 41 - 60: You finally manage to pass the first hurdle of spears, but nearly get pin-cushioned again as a barrage of arrows appear out of nowhere. Really now? 61 - 80: You see a lone clan member fly upwards towards the observation point, dodging all obstacles effortlessly. Sure, they make it look easy... 81- 100: You finally reach the top! At the very top, you can see a large group of War clan members filing out, heavily armed and equipped. They seem to be shouting loudly to each other as well, excitedly as they exit to the portal room. (see below for horsemen point prompt) - Horsemen point prompt! You also see something glint next to you, but is it just a trick of the light? Roll a 6-sided dice. If odd you obtain one horsemen point! You can only redeem a max of two from all prompt prps/orps your student is in per OOC 24 hours. You can redeem these here and here!

Roch was staring up at the ladder, his hands in his pockets, a thoughtful look on his face. He'd gone up there once, sure, but maybe the guys up there weren't there anymore--then he could hang out up there and see everything! That would be awesome!
He looked around, wondering if he was going to wind up dealing with people on the ladder on the way down again...

Mitzi had come to stare at the observation point again, to try to convince herself to try again. After doing so well on the toxic cave earlier, she felt pretty sure of herself, but that had been underground, not high up in the trees. She was determined, though, to make it to the top at some point while she was here, if only to prove to herself that she could do it.
So she was somewhat relieved to see the punk boil already there. She waved as she called out, "Hey Roch!" Just knowing he was there had helped so much last time, that she was a lot more willing to try again.
It might still not be enough, or maybe she just needed a couple more days of dealing with the heights, but it was worth making another stab at it.

Roc glanced up, his mind racing through what would happen, then mentally shrugging. "Hey, Mitzi, how you doin?" he asked. "You feelin' better about heights yet?" he asked, glancing at the ladder again. "Cuz I wouldn't suggest doin' this unless--"

At her side, her hands tightened into fists. Was she feeling better about heights yet? No, not really. But she wasn't going to let a ladder beat her. And she was feeling better about herself at least.
In fact, his question slightly raised her hackles. She knew he was just trying to look out for her, to make sure she didn't get stuck on the ladder again, but she wasn't some weak scareling. She could beat her fears. She could, and she would.
"I can do this," was all she replied, eyeing the ladder like it was about to bite her. Her body language countered her words, her nervousness obvious, but then she headed over and started up. The longer she waited, the harder it would be, after all.

"Alright," he said, following her up. "Talk to me while you climb. Tell me how things have gone so far--how you doin' in classes?" he asked her, glancing up and not saying a WORD about the perfect panty shot he got.

Oblivious to the boil's wandering eyes, Mitzi took a deep breath, before following his advice. "The meditation exercise yesterday, I used to do something similar as a scareling, you know? When my grandfather would teach me, he always insisted on it... but I stopped a few years back. And well, I guess you really do have to keep up with it. It was a lot harder than I remember..." She kept on talking, telling him also about the other obstacle courses she'd found, of her run through the caves under the island, and so on. Between that and dodging the weapons and obstacles and traps lining the ladder, she was too distracted to even think about how much higher she was going. Before she knew it she reached up, and there wasn't another rung, just the edge of the platform.
She froze in surprise, and looked up, not at all expecting that she had already reached the top. "Oh, we're up!" Now, of course, the question was how to get over the edge... She took several more steps up, and started looking for something she could grab to haul herself over. If anything, this last part turned out to be the hardest, as even though she knew her handholds were secure, she didn't feel like they were. But soon she was over, and sitting on the floor panting slightly. She'd made it!

As she waited for the boil to come over the edge, expecting that he was right behind her, she started scraping at something that seemed to be trapped between two floorboards. Suddenly it came free, and she found it was another of the carved stones. She tucked it away somewhere safe for now.

"Shhhh," Roch said, grabbing her by the bow and pulling her back. "They're still here," he said, pointing at the war clan members that were leaving. He pulled out his cell phone and snapped a pic.

Since Roch seemed to think they should head straight back down, she carefully clambered back onto the ladder and started after him. At the beginning, even though she wasn't talking to the boil, she actually found it easier; knowing that she was getting closer to relative safety, she could focus on that goal and not on how high... not thinking that.
Unfortunately, she made the mistake of looking down to see just how far away that "relative safety" was. And she didn't look straight down, at the wooden planks directly below her, but rather slightly off to the side, where it wouldn't be too hard for her to fall, if she wasn't careful... She froze again.
This was just like before, when she'd had to have Roch talk her down. She was trying to prove to herself (and also to him) that she could do this. Clinging to the ladder like this was not going to help. But still, all she could manage to do for a few moments was wimper and hope she didn't look like too much of a coward.

Her panicking made the latter start to sway. Roch grabbed on tight as he was almost thrown off, and he knew--instinctively, that the same jacker with the spears from earlier had just thrown another one at him for taking so long.
It almost hit his pants.
"Mitzi? C'mon, screech, start on down," he called down to her, not mentioning his little moment. "You can do it!" He turned, climbing on the opposite side of the ladder and coming down so he was facing her again. "C'mon, you made it to the top, right? You can make it back down again."

Once again his voice called her back from the edge of terror, and she opened her eyes and looked up to see him on the other side of the ladder. She'd done it again, hadn't she? How long had she let herself hang there? She looked crestfallen; she'd really thought she could do this, and she'd been planning to show Roch that she could do it. "Right..." she muttered, but her voice was low not so much because of the fear, but because of shame.
She started moving again, slowly but steadily, if only because she didn't really want him to notice the flush she coud feel in her face.

He went down with her, rung by rung, grinning and dropping to the ground when they got there. "You did it, though," he told her proudly. "You made it all the way to the top--sure you had a little moment on the way down, but you got over it, right? You're overcoming the problem, right? That's a definite reason to celebrate!"

When she got back to the main platform, she stood for a moment, just breathing with her eyes closed. She made it. Solid planks beneath her feet. She nodded in response to Roch's reassurances, and managed a slightly drawn smile, looking up at him. "Yeah... I'm getting there."
She was glad he seemed so proud of her, but really, she'd been hoping to impress him by making it up and down without freaking out. Still, she didn't want to let his good mood go to waste. On a sudden impulse, she reached over and gave him a quick hug. "Thanks, Roch. Sure, a reason to celebrate. Any ideas?"
