HP: 40/50Before Otto knew it, a battle had come and gone with him having had no opening to help. He had no injuries, since he'd done nothing the whole battle, and was in no mind set to 'rest'. He wanted to be useful, do something. Preferably by himself. So he gave a nod to the Moon Hunter on duty and headed out solo. It would give him time to think, not that he wanted to do much more thinking. Being around others was hard enough in a normal situation, let alone feeling the way he was now. He'd never felt so useless, so hopeless. Not in a long time, anyway. Otto pressed onward, surveying the area for more of those horrible bugs. It just made him remember the pit of Scorpions he nearly had fallen in during his promotion task. Something caught his eye, and as he whirled around, a large black creature was hurling itself at him, screeching with a noise that made his core freeze. Otto managed to summon Tenya in time to try and block, but sustained some damage in the process. With a grunt Otto lunged out at the enemy, taking out relatively easily despite the surprise attack. Quote: - 1- 20: You see nothing, but you hear the sound of something rumbling, of clashing noises in the distance. - 21- 40: You encounter a large, oversized insect. It screeches and hurls itself at you! You manage to barely fend it off but you take -10 damage. - 41 - 60: You see a strange hole in the sand, walking closer towards it. It's a trap! A giant six-foot scorpion springs out and nearly disembowels you with its tail. You barely avoid the attack, but take heavy damage while taking it out. -20 damage - 61- 80: You hear screeching noises a little further away, and see a Moon Hunter battling with an oversized scorpion. You go to help them, but take damage in the process too. -10 damage - 81 - 100: You walk around and suddenly hit something odd in the ground. They look like strange flecks of dark red, but the sand quickly sweeps it away.

HP: 30/50Otto took out a small notepad, recording his encounter so he could correctly report this incident later on. As he wrote, a screeching noise caught his ears. Looking up, he was immediately assaulted with the horrid face of another large insect. He was barely able to manage a yelp before he was taken down by it. WIth Tenya still summoned, he managed to beat the thing away before sustaining too much more damage. "s**t.. this place is infested." He muttered to himself, standing back up and dusting off his clothes. "And I'll be picking sand out from my toes for weeks.. if we get out of this." He added solemnly, again to himself. Though he could always claim he was talking with his weapon, Tenya was actually humming and hawing in his head without much attention being paid to Otto. Despite his gut feelings, the mission was not yet the catastrophe he predicted. The bodies he'd seen earlier had not helped his doomed mood, but it hadn't been the first time he'd been involved in a mission that dealt with casualties. The only thing he feared was seeing someone he actually knew fall in battle. HP: 20/50Otto was nearing the end of his patrol duty. Not a lot had happened since his first two encounters with oversized insects. That all changed when he heard the tell tale sound of another one in the distance. He turned toward the noise, surprised to see someone else out where he was. A Moon hunter, and he was fighting a losing battle against... ugh, a scorpion. He hated those things, more so because of his close encounter with them. Thank you, Caelius, for that experience. Otto rushed forward with Tenya, joining the hunter in his scuffle with the pointy bug of terror. After a few close calls with some pincers, Otto and the hunter took the thing down. He didn't give the hunter much attention, other than making sure he wasn't in danger of dying. The short blonde still wanted to be left alone, but after walking some distance away, realized he might need to get looked at after having dealt with three bugs of doom. One last look out at the empty land ahead, and Otto returned to camp.
