OOC: PATROLLING - Your trainee can choose to ICly do patrols, with others or simply by themselves. If they wish to SOLO or PRP, simply copy and paste the mechanics below to their own thread and label it PRP/ SOLO IN THIS SUBFORUM. If you are wandering closer to base, this thread is the ORP. Anyone is free to interact with anyone else "patrolling" in this ORP thread. - Simply ENTER the base patrol area when your trainee feels like it and EXIT it when they need to leave ROLLING DICE: (you can roll up to 3 times per patrol) - 1- 20: You see nothing, but you hear the sound of something rumbling, of clashing noises in the distance. - 21- 40: You encounter a large, oversized insect. It screeches and hurls itself at you! You manage to barely fend it off but you take -10 damage. - 41 - 60: You see a strange hole in the sand, walking closer towards it. It's a trap! A giant six-foot scorpion springs out and nearly disembowels you with its tail. You barely avoid the attack, but take heavy damage while taking it out. -20 damage - 61- 80: You hear screeching noises a little further away, and see a Moon Hunter battling with an oversized scorpion. You go to help them, but take damage in the process too. -10 damage - 81 - 100: You walk around and suddenly hit something odd in the ground. They look like strange flecks of dark red, but the sand quickly sweeps it away.

Bix was happy. The sun was scorching shining, the birds were eaten by giant centipedes tweeting, the wind was whipping furiously blowing and the sand was on fire warm beneath his feet. His good mood had a lot to do with the cookie given to him by Wash. He was still aware and ready for a fight but he was grinning quite a bit more.
He didn't think twice about the fact that he had his arm thrown over Molly's shoulder. "Here comes the sun.." he sang to himself softly. DAMMIT JERRY! It was stuck in his head now.
"Where's Tedan?" He looked behind him. "Get over here bro." He threw his arm around the other hunter as well.

[[Entering!]]
Had there ever been a more glorious place?
Sasha swept after Bix, humming a soft tune. She went from skipping to twirling, then back to skipping before she started hopping after the albino hunter.
"This is kind of like.. like a beach! But -- without water!"
Sunscreen? Who needed it! Sasha's nose was already turning kind of pink. It was a good thing she loved the color!
"Oh Molly. I can't wait to .. you know! Listen to you play again!" Sasha wrapped her arms around herself in a hug. "You're just amazing!"
"Did you know! I got my flute back. It was just... in my room one day! I don't know where it came from! Well.. I mean, I know where it came from! Someone went back to my home -- my papa's farm? And brought it back. Isn't that amazing, you guys?"

((ENTERING))
As Jerry overheard Sasha's gleeful ramblings, he normally would have become suspicious, jealous, and a bit introspective. Fortunately, with Julie's cookies in his system, he merely beamed, "We've got a full band now!! Well, not quite full, we need some sort of bass to fill it out, but I'm sure SOMEONE can maybe Wash could just sing that would be pretty great, huh?" He practically skipped after Sasha, and before he could help it, threw his arms around her in a sudden hug.

Being at the Sahara wasn’t exactly what one would call a prime vacation spot or destination, but still, it was an exotic location that Molly wouldn’t have been able to visit otherwise…uh…all things considered.
The Mist trainee was still wide eyed and smiling as she just enjoyed the feeling of Bix’s arm around her shoulders as she looked after. After a moment too, she couldn’t help but shyly wrap her arm around his waist in return. That’s what you did in a situation like this, right? The young woman looked back at Sasha was she started to gush, and turned even more pink at the praise. “O..oh thank you!” She replied modestly. “You’re making me blush, though! I wish I could sing like you did…you sound just like those lovely opera singers on TV…Oh? You did!?” Molly grinned excitedly.
“That’s wonderful! I'm so happy for you!”

Ohhh! Sasha just looked at Bix and Molly. They were just adorable. Just.. What had she been talking about? Oh! Right! "I'm so happy, too, Molly. I'm going to have to find out who did such a marvelous thing for me and just.. thank them. I'll play them a song!" When Jerry hugged her, Sasha laughed and hugged him back. She was glad he was.. acting.. well. Himself? "Wash has such a lovely voice, don't you guys think? And thank you, Molly! I like to sing, but... gosh, my passion is just.. my flute."

Tedan laughed as Bix slung an arm over his shoulder and quickly matched his stride to the others. "Sorry, there was a group hug back there! You guys just missed it. I had to get in on that before coming out here." He looked around, noting the sounds of distant fighting, the bright sun, the brilliant yet harsh colors of the desert. "It's so nice out here too, though! I mean, the sun and fresh air and all. Kinda like that song or whatever. We gotta be all bright, like the sun!"

Once Sasha was in on the hugging, Jerry didn't let go, giving a mad giggle as he walked forward, half lifting her to dance-drag her along, "Oh my GOODNESS that man's voice!" He groaned, "He will be part of our choir. Definitely. No mistake. Or he'll regret it."

"Group hugs are pretty great." But only after a few cookies. Why was that? Bix hadn't been too forgetful, he was wrapped up in his scarf in an effort to not get burnt. His skin was so fair that he'd be sunburnt to hell by the time they got back.
"Jerry.. Jerry.. How's it go? Here comes the sun doo doo dooo..." Bix swayed with his two arm rests while he tried to sing. Suddenly there was a chittering noise. The happy hunter perked, turning his head towards it but perhaps the ookies had dulled his senses quite a bit. Out of nowhere a giant unidentifiable insect launched from the side.
"DUCK!!" Bix pulled Molly aside but he didn't have time to summon his weapon before the bug had gotten him.
Fool! Sssstupid idiot!
It came back around but thankfully his bow was summoned by now. He knocked it like he was swinging a baseball bat and after a few hits the bug disappeared back into the swirling sand.

Sasha stumbled when the bug erupted from the sands; she hardly had enough time to rise to her feet before the bug was gone. Turning wide eyes to Bix and Molly, Sasha's mouth opened in a little 'o' before she lifted a trembling hand to point behind them. And then she took off running. By the time she reached the Moon Hunter the scorpion was nearly dead. A few swipes with Nona's hooks and the beast was dead, but Sasha didn't escape unscathed. A large gash on her knee - but nothing life-threatening. "It's dangerous out here," she chirped happily, dusting off her hands. "Ah... ah... Careful, Sasha!" Jerry recovered from their hug, cut short by giant insects. Nevermind Bix nearly becoming bug-food. He hurried after her, where she had taken chase of the Moon-hunter in distress, but had only a moment to note the odd divet in the sand ahead of him before... he was sinking. "Ah... ahhh...!" He scrambled backward as the sand collapsed inward- a hole! "Everyone get ba-" Was all he could say before the massive armored tail swung forth, stabbing into the sand directly between his legs, successfully pinning him by the jacket. He scrambled free with a wild yelp- even joy infested cookies couldn't hold back his terror, and Roar was immediately summoned. "I... I... I've got it!" Don't dissociate. Just concentrate. Aim and fire. Aim and- Massive legs unfurled, the owner of the tail crawling free of it's hiding hole to swing a massive claw, sending Jerry tumbling in the sand with a groan. Roar barked in the process, legs flying as the creature gave an earth-shaking screech. "They might burn us, They might bite us, They might curse and scratch and claw..." He sang in a wobbly voice under his breath as he gasped for air, shaking as he tried to circle around for a clearer shot, but the creature was mad now, tail swinging, "But we won't stop, we won't rest, Until we've gone and killed them all! WATCHOUT!" And Roar blasted as the tail swung, "HERE WE CAAAAARRRGGGG-" The creature crumpled.... directly on top of the singing Sun Hunter. It was great Sasha got her flute back, and due to some mysterious benefactor too, apparently…it made her wonder…what happened to her family fiddle…she shook her head. Nah, that’d just be depressing to think about. She couldn’t be depressed when she was in such good company! Good company that was under attack, oh god. Molly yelped as she was pulled, and watched as a bug came skimming by. She wanted to pull out her weapon and help…but that was kind of hard when she was so close to everyone. Then Sasha was running off and finishing off scorpions like a boss, and then speaking of scorpions, one was attacking Jerry! “ Ack, Jerry!” Molly called out, seeing the thing nearly crush the Sun Hunter, and Molly started to run towards him, and she was jerked. What? She looked down to see one of her legs knee deep in sand and then…uh oh. Was it a scorpion nest!? Molly’s eyes widened as another one surfaced, standing between her and Jerry. Vaska was roaring in her head for her to just not stand there like a twit, but to actually do something. Molly had been trying to get her leg out, but seeing the stinger come close, she abandoned that effort for now, and summoned her giant lance. She did a sweep, knocking the stinger back for a few precious moments before it came back around swinging, and knocked her clear off of her feet. “ OOF!” The Mist trainee pushed herself back up to her feet, and as the stinger came back in again, she just thrust her weapon forward and speared the stinger tip. With a hard pull, she tore it from the scorpion’s body, and tossed it off to the side, breathing a sigh of relief as it went down. Ouch. Also? Her boot was still in that hole. She went to go retrieve it, shouldering her oversized weapon for the time being. HP: 20/40

"Be careful!" Bix reached for Molly as she went for her boot. He kept an eye out for more scorpions but for the moment they seemed to have fought them off.
"Who is that?" The wind whipped past them and his vision was obscured. It looked like a hunter fighting another scorpion. "HEY! Someone needs help guys!"
The sun hunter fired an arrow at the scorpion but it was taken by the wind. It was enough to get the beast's attention and it charged him. At least he'd gotten it away from the unknown Moon hunter. Bix hopped away, dodging it's jabbing tail. One of it's massive claws shot out and caught him in the arm.
"Ahh!" It latched on but the distraction was enough for the Moon hunter to dispatch it.

Sasha did her best to make it over to assist Jerry and Molly, but she was too late. While Bix fought on, Sasha was doing her best to get Jerry out from beneath the giant scorpion that he was being squished by. These were some big bugs! "Jerry! Can you hear m-- oof!" A rather large bug darted towards her, clipping her shoulder. She landed on her backside, taking a long moment to stare up at the impossibly blue sky before clambering back to her feet. "I just hate bugs!" She sounded entirely too cheerful, turning back to face Jerry's ah.. predicament. Quote: 21- 40: You encounter a large, oversized insect. It screeches and hurls itself at you! There was a distant rumbling, and more battle in the chaos, but Jerry was preoccupied by the scoprion on top of him. He gave a howl as it's sharp exoskeleton cut in, but was quickly hushed by Roar telling him not to be a pansy.
He gasped for air, and grasped at Sasha's hand, trying to haul himself through the sand jut as she was thrown back.
Scrambling to pull himself free, he fumbled to drag Roar out as well, scanning the dunes for danger- which, unfortunately, was all about.
"Sasha! Bix... Molly?" He panted, his cookie-smile wobbling at the edges. It was all good. No one was dead yet. That was fantastic! See? This would be fine! He was scared for nothing!
He could really use another cookie or six, though. "Is... is everyone alright?"
