For my own reference
Survey Mission 3C
General debriefing: In the rural outskirts of *YOU CHOOSE A CITY/LOCATION* there have been a rash of murders, and though they are not an uncommon occurrence around the area, these particular victims' bodies have all been branded with an insignia in their skins: a strange backwards spiral curving into a hook. Most of the rest of their bodies are horribly mutilated. The mission is to find the perpetrator and dispose of it.
* C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee)

Quote:
* MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 3C. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a HALLOWEEN ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics.
1- 20: You notice a lack of people in the streets even though it is nearly mid-noon their time. Several of them give you strange looks, wary.
21 - 40: You notice a strange, pungent smell, like something rotting, and as you look around, notice the influx of pests, from flies, to roaches to even what looks like dead locusts littered along the streets.
41 - 60: You notice that the signs, the neighbourhood stop signs and posts have all been painted and engraved with a strange symbol, a backwards arced spiral. They line up almost eerily against each other as far as you can see.
61 - 80: A hot gust of wind blows through the streets, tasting oddly of sand and rot.
81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER:
- You spot a ??? figure clothed in tattered rags, though your weapon can sense its unnatural scent of Fear. It is clutching a something in its arms, which you slowly realise is actually a piece of rotting human bone.
- BOSS MECHANICS: This boss has 75 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back.

* 4 mission reward points for completing this successfully

It had been a while since Otto took on a mission with a small group. It was experience, and it was always nice to get off that island. It made him stir crazy being cooped up there.

The downside? He had to work with others. Colour him unimpressed.

The blonde intermediate hunter sighed unhappily as he walked down the hall with his forms. Who the Hell was he going to rope into doing this? Maybe he'd just yank the first two sorry suckers he bumped into...

Molly was humming to herself as she looked through her planner. What to do, what to do…Training had been going rather well as of late, though she needed to work on sparring more. You know what she also needed to do more of? External Missions…the last one she went on was the one with Miss Candace and Deryk to Alaska…huh…

The Mist trainee paused and frowned. Oh…but to do an External Mission…she needed an Intermediate trainee…oh dear…would she be able to bother any of them for one…?

Molly paused and fretted there in the hall.

Ever since he got promoted, things had actually been pretty quiet for Deryk. Pretty soon, he was going to need to find a mission or something to do. But.. at the same time, he was a bit anxious to do so. The bits of information he heard from the memorial were worrisome. Very. Worrisome.

Somehow, he had a feeling his days were numbered on the island, and he really didn't know how to take this.

Maybe he should get more coffee right now.

Yes. That sounded good. The intermediate started down the hall to make his way to the cafeteria to do just that.

Otto spotted two suckers. Two easily bullied suckers. No.. no this was too perfect. It was like fate had smiled down on Otto during his moment of need and blessed him with lackies.

Outside, Otto looked as grouchy as ever. But inside?

"Yo, losers!" Otto hollared out, waving his forms in the air. "Ya'll r needed for a mission. Git yer sorry asses over here."

Molly was pulled from her musings as a familiar voice called out, and she was greeted by the sight of Otto waving some forms around.

She blinked.

Losers…? As in more than one. Molly looked around, and then caught sight of Deryk. “Oh! Hi Deryk! Long time no see! How are you?” As she questioned the Death Hunter though, she started to move towards Otto well…because orders were orders, and Otto was a higher ranking Huntard than her. “Hi Otto!” Seems Molly was losing her fear of him too much. “What kind of mission are we going on? I need to pack!”
PostPosted: Fri Mar 30, 2012 11:46 pm

Before he could really get too far, Deryk heard two voices calling out to him. One of them he was considerably less enthused to hear than the other.

"Oh hey Molly!" he greeted before turning to the other and saying in a not quite as happy tone, "..And Otto."

Well, at least it sounded like he had a mission in mind. Would he want to work with him though? The trainee wasn't too sure. It might not hurt to see what he had in mind.

"What mission?" he asked, "Got specifics? Debrief?"

That one mission with Justin told him missions without debriefing was bad. Very bad.

Good. No complaints.

Obey.

Otto looked almost self important as he looked through the forms, giving both Molly and Derryk one each. "Welp, we're on a search and destroy mission. Somethin' has been murdering people; mutilating their bodies n' carvin weird a** symbols on'em. Find what it is, and take'em out." That was the gist of it, anyway. The details were laid out in the forms Otto had given his lackeys partners.

He could totally organize a mission. Piece of ********' cake!

"Right, we leave now. So if ya still need somethin', get yer crap together and meet at the lighthouse in 5 minutes." He narrowed his eyes at them for good measure then pushed past them. "I'm already countin' so hurry the ******** up."

And off he went to the Light House.

When handed a form, Molly was torn between looking it over and trying to listen to what Otto was saying. She looked rather disturbed by what he said, and the looked down right panicked at the fact that they were leaving right now as in five minutes. Molly’s mouth hung open in surprise as Otto then started to walk off, counting down those five minutes.

Where were they going again? She looked back at the paper. “…TOKYO!?” She cried. Was this really work when they sent her places like that!? Her panicked expression shot back up to Deryk. “I’m going to go pack now see you at the lighthouse, okay!?” With that Molly fled down the hall back to her room, where she grabbed her small bag. Luckily she had the utmost basic survival supplies in it, but what did one pack for somewhere like Tokyo? Hmmm…an atlas…and uh…more first aid kits…and uh…yeah! THAT’S ALL SHE HAD TIME FOR!

Molly was then running her freckled a** off to get to the lighthouse. “I…I made it…?”

A search and destroy. That didn't sound.. .too bad. Maybe. It was definitely not 'safe' but nothing would really fall under that. From the sounds of things, they better get rid of the creature anyway, from what it was doing and whatnot. Taking the mission form, he glanced it over before something caught his eyes. And immediately they widened with joy and excitement.

"Japan!? Always wanted to go there. And OH! It's Tokyo too! Even better. Yes. This is good. Must go. See you there!" he said before zooming off to get ready.

A little later, he showed up at the lighthouse portal, all set to tackle this mission.

"Alright. I am ready. So ready. Yes. Let's do this."

What was so great about Tokyo? These two seemed way to happy. "Uh.. yeah, yer welcome er whatever." He muttered as he left.

At the light house, Otto waited, and not for very long. Soon enough the two were packed and ready. "Right. Welp, let's get this over with." He muttered, hopping inside the portal.

The sight he was met with was a biiiiig culture shock for American born and raised Otto. The furthest he'd ever travelled was to New York as a toddler. This was just... The boy looked a bit lost at first.
"Uh...r-right.." He shook his head, not able to make heads or tails of all the strange signs and crowds of Asian people. Then again, they were all almost as short as he was, but that too was surreal.

"Okay. We split up, but not too far. If you get lost or you find the monster, communicate with our phones, got it? Don't fight it on yer own."

((41 - 60: You notice that the signs, the neighbourhood stop signs and posts have all been painted and engraved with a strange symbol, a backwards arced spiral. They line up almost eerily against each other as far as you can see.))

Whew, luckily Molly arrived in time! She was glad to see that Otto was still there, and she gave a smile to Deryk to see that he was still with them too. She was excited to work with him again!

In no time at all, after they requested the mission portal, they were then sent through, and much like Otto, well, Molly was in for quite a culture shock as well. Now, she grew up in a big city because she was use to commuting on a subway nearly daily…but Tokyo…that was in a league of its own. Not only that, but apparently this was the cartoony distract! She was seeing a lot of cartoon characters all over posters and bill boards and in shops and in windows. She couldn’t believe she was standing in Japan! Wait…that made a thought occur to her…

They were here without passports.

Oh dear.

U…Uh…” Split up? In this city? Molly looked around, seeing all the different streets and alleyways…and…there was just no way. “Um…Otto…uh…sir? I…” She twiddled her fingers together. “…I don’t…think it’s a good idea for us to split up…I think we could get lost really easily here…er…well…I could…” Molly paused though, as she looked towards a pole to see something familiar at least. Traffic signs! But wait… “Uh…guys…” Molly pointed at the street signs on the poles. “…I don’t think…signs usually have odd symbols like that…huh?”

Deryk's eyes widened as he entered the portal to see that he was very much in Tokyo.

"Wooooah! I can't believe we're in Japan!" he chimed while looking around at all the sights and sounds. Grinning, he went over to see what Molly was talking about. And indeed, there were some strange markings. They looked familiar really, and it definitely wasn't Japanese writing.

"Think that might have something to do with this. Yes."

Moving around some more, he paused as he spotted something in tattered rags. At first, he thought it was some bum... but. Tooley was starting to pick up on the Fear coming from it.

"Guys. Guys. I think I found something. Over here. Uh. Think that's a bone. Yep. Definitely human arm. Definitely rotting. Definitely our target," he said while waving the others over. Yes, this was most certainly their target. And so, he went ahead and summoned Tooley out.

"Better get rid of it. Send it back. Shouldn't be out there. Shouldn't be killing."

Molly had a good point, and Otto had to admit it. Staying together would be better. He nodded quietly and followed the others, looking for clues. Symbols were found, though he expected to see them, since they'd apparently been on the bodies.

Soon enough, sooner than Otto thought, they found their target. As much as he wanted answers, he only had one objective. "Alright. Take it out." He ordered, summoning his boomerang.

He heaved his weapon back and then flung it forward toward the creature. It struck, but left Otto open for an attack. Before he caught Tenya again, the ragged figure attacked. Damn it could hit hard, and it stank like crazy. The small blonde gritted his teeth and ran to catch his weapon.

Molly rubbed her chin in thought as she stared at the markings, but it was Deryk’s call that pulled her from her musings. Bone. Human arm. Target.

The Mist trainee’s nose wrinkled and she grimaced at the sight, but the good thing was that they had found their target and they could quickly dispatch it. That way it wouldn’t hurt anyone else. Vaska was raring and ready to do, and she stepped away from her team mates to summon her monster lance. Molly must have been really raring and ready to go as well, hopped up on the excitement and adrenaline of being in Japan, as the lunged at the creature and thrust her lance at it.

The back lash was pretty bad though.

The other two had gone on to begin their attack. Deryk waited for a moment, slightly reluctant to get up close. It smelled bad! Grimacing, he finally gathered himself up together enough to run on towards the creature. Once he was close enough, he stabbed out at it, only to get smacked in the side of the face with the bone.

"ACK!" he cried out while stumbling back. That was a pretty solid hit just now. Rubbing his temple, he frowned before looking to the others again. This thing had a pretty good bite to it. They probably should be careful.

"Maybe try to surround? Flank? I don't know. Might help. Maybe?" he suggested. It was a three on one after all.
