Wincing with each step that put weight on his left leg, Star limped down the hall of Grunt dorms, dragging his large black bag behind him. He was holding a small sheet of paper with a room number scribbled on it. It'd been thrust at him by the Exec who evicted him from his temporary room. The ex-Galactic had protested that the room wasn't in use, so there was really no reason why he should have to leave. The Exec didn't agree.
Grumbling, he slowed and stopped at the room corresponding to the number on his little slip of paper. "....let's see how bad this is.." He muttered and, with a sigh, shoved the door open.

After such a while away, it felt good to be back in her room... It wasn't the nicest or biggest room, but it held her things and comforts, dusty or not, still and felt like a 'home' to the grunt. The curtains- a remnant from the room mate before (some awful orange-block-yellow pattern) that she planned to change soon- cast the room into semi-darkness. It was a quiet room and she felt content that it would likely continue to be so, as, prior to the museum mission, she had learned that her room mate would be moving on upwards. It was only a good thing for them both. They hadn't been particularly close despite sharing a room and with a promotion for one, left a free room to the other. Tambrey used the quiet to doze on her bed after discarding the infirmary wear for familiar pajamas- she had at least just about had the energy to change the bedding to Grunt-grade laundered sheets; they felt like luxury after the cell floor, however. Of course, she wasn't the only occupant of the bed; a stuffed Marill and a stuffed Ratata looked tiny next to a roosting Pidgeotto near her head.
Half dozing, the grunt was dimly away of something outside the door. In her mind, several things from the Galactic ship were playing out behind fluttering eyelids. No knocking, no warning and the door was opening! Cell door! No, /room/ door! Her /room/ door was /opening/! Tambrey looked toward it in a moment of panic... which only got a little worse and confused as /a Galactic she remembered from the machine mission/ appeared. Twinkle! Invading the base! The grunt gave a shout as she rolled off the bed... and then under it. "Palu! Wing Attack!" The bird snapped her eyes open, warbled and turned to the door... someone entering wasn't really all /that/ unusual- they used to have a room mate- and they were in the base, but... if her trainer said so... It would be another few moments before Tam's brain caught up with her...

In the moments it took Star's eyes to adjust to the dim light of the unfamiliar room something in the small space moved. When his eyes darted toward the bed something flew at his face. "Wha-" With a loud whap and a screechy yelp he was sent staggering back into the hall, clutching his cheek. "What the hell?!"

Tambrey scooted herself across slightly and looked half way out from under the bed toward the door way.
Oh. Right. Him. He was supposed on the Rocket side now... And he'd been /given/ Grunt status which meant... Frak. She'd just sic'd Palu on her new room mate hadn't she? ... It was surprisingly not an unhappy prospect though.
Carefully, she extracted herself from under the bed and pulled herself up to sit on it. "Stop, Palu, stop!" She called, a little less quickly then she should have. What... had she done to offend the gods to deserve this? "Palu..."
The Pidgeotto was obedient, at least... she let up her attack when told but not a moment before. Once called off, the bird returned to the bed to cast a wary eye on the ex-Galactic. Tambrey didn't offer an apology yet.

Star slumped against the hallway wall, still holding his face when the attack ended. He blinked a moment, looking hunched and awkward, then tensed and straightened up to stalk back to the door. He looked angry.
"What is wrong with you? And why are you in my room??"

Tambrey chose to ignore the first part. What was wrong with her? She doubted he remembered, but she'd just spent weeks calling the brig of his former team 'home' and all the fun activities that entailed. As for the latter question...
"Your room?" She cast a glance around. One empty bed, but aside from that, it was pretty clear that someone had this place occupied (or usually did); she had /stuff/ 'artfully' (slightly messily) kept in here. Books, especially, graced the places they could grace.
"... I was about to ask you that." Though she was now certain, and slightly disheartened, that she'd concluded correctly.

The lanky Galactic hovered in the doorway, eyes darting around the room. He frowned his disapproval, "Clearly there's been some mistake." He held up the slip with the room number written on it for Tambrey to see, "I was told these quarters would be mine. I'll have to ask you to leave." He gestured meaningfully into the hall.

The dark-haired grunt's eyes flicked to the scrap of paper... That /definitely/ confirmed that she'd been right... Frak. She sighed a little audibly- which seemed to make Palu bristle her feathers.
"I /heard/ what happened in the infirmary you know... You're a grunt. Not an executive, not an elite, not even an agent... 'T means y' get this sort of a room. One with /two/ beds in it." She held her fingers up to illustrate the number, watching him with narrowed eyes. This would work so much better if... there, she reached her free hand and placed her glasses on. "I can assure y' that I'm not all that delighted with this either..."
Who had assigned him to this particular number? Was it picked out randomly? She hoped so, otherwise she was pretty sure that somewhere higher up, someone must really not like her. Sure, put the ex-Galactic with a grunt who just came back from being a prisoner of Team Galactic... Of course, it could be some strategy to it, but she somewhat doubted it.

Star's brow furrowed as he lowered the paper slip, "...why would I need a room with two beds? And what does that have to do with y-" He froze in the middle of a gesture, blinked a moment, looked at the hall, the two beds, then back at Tambrey, "No. You can't be serious."

"Hello Roomie." She even offered a sarcastic little wave as she said it.
Palu had puffed herself up and was leaning forward, watching the spindly man. It had been bad enough sharing the territory with the chooser of the horrid curtains, but now... Well, she'd already been told to attack once just because Tambrey saw him... The bird didn't trust him at all.
"... No one told me I was getting a new room mate so soon and /you/ are definitely the last person I'd have expected." The grunt admitted, watching Star warily.

Star's hand tightened into a fist around his slip of paper. "This is unacceptable. I will not share a room." After occupying the doorway several moments longer, as though refusing to move might make reality bend to his will, he grunted and continued inside, dragging his bag, "This is a temporary arrangement. I'll be speaking to Temero."
He was limping pretty badly as he crossed the room. His injury was probably the only thing preventing him from storming off immediately to shout at the higher ups. Looking furious, he dropped his belongings and sat on the edge of the unclaimed bed. "..ridiculous." He muttered, glaring at the door.

Well. Was he going to... live in the doorway then? That would be inconvenient. She stayed silent and just watched him until he declared it a 'temporary arrangement' and came properly inside the room.
"You can speak t' who ever you like but I don't imagine, knowing my luck, it'll change a thing." She found herself saying. "Grunts... share rooms. 'S how it's done and I doubt anyone's got it in mind for it to be different for you. I heard about that deal of yours and what you've actually been given... I appreciate that you... helped to get us out of that place but," she frowned, why was she even trying to explain this like this "you have to admit that wasn't a very... thought out plan. I suspect I'm stuck with you." She finished tiredly and with a trace of frustration; Team Rocket really wasn't the sort of place to go looking for a 'complaints department'.
"Gee-oh." Palu piped up in a similar tone, though at least she seemed to be settling back down.
The grunt frowned. The next part might be introductions, but it was hard to trust this man even if he was to be moving in. "Twinkle." She stated finally. "I remember someone calling you that." She chose not to mention that that someone was her.

Star had pulled his bag closer and started digging through it while Tambrey spoke. When she reached his nickname he tensed and fixed her with a threatening glare.
"Don't."
He shook his head, "My name. Is Star."
To Star's credit, he was pretty good at looking threatening when he wanted to. Unfortunately the moment was spoiled when one of the poké balls at his hip popped open and a ball of feathers landed on his shoulder to helpfully repeat his name. "Star!"
The threatening glare diminished, "Not now, Sky."
"Starly star."

Well that seemed to have stopped him from complaining about the room but that wasn't a very friendly look. He had introduced himself, sort of... of course it was a codename, but Team Rocket had it's share of those. Perhaps it would have been useful to have... thought of one for herself, for moments like these, but no- she hadn't liked the idea before and still didn't, besides it felt a little too late for that.
As Star looked menacing, Palu tried to as well. It consisted of puffing up her feathers and giving her best frown, but a bird in a scarf can only really achieve a certain limit of intimidation.
The grunt held up her hands as though to placate at the look she received for the word 'Twinkle'. It was still a good name, she decided.
"... Well that's useful." Tam' blinked, removed from whatever response she had had for him by the appearance of the little black and white bird on his shoulder. "It's like a... livin' name tag." She noted before waving at the bird. "Hey," She noted the name used "Sky." Palu now frowned at both the new human and the new bird. "Geee-ohtoh..." She grumbled at them.

Star rolled his eyes, "Yes.. he is. I didn't select him. But if he helps you remember what to call me I'll consider that a success." Sighing, he turned his attention back to his bag.
Sky puffed up his feathers and answered Tambrey's greeting, "Star star!" For the moment he seemed content to ignore Palu. He was used to a much larger and grumpier bird. He eyed Star. No, make that two large grumpy birds.
Looking frustrated, Star gave up digging through his bag and shoved it aside. Apparently he hadn't been able to find whatever he was looking for. Several moments passed before he looked at Tambrey again. "...you look familiar."
