It was... sort of a party. Roch and some of his bros were moving large logs into a circle for people to lean against, and setting up a circle of rocks for them to build a bonfire in the middle of it. He didn't expect many people, especially after the last trial, but hell, people didn't want to spend their nights all alone in their rooms after that, either.
With more people there was safety. At least, that was his excuse. Really he was just looking to hang out roasting marshmallows and telling stupid stories. "Nahm's comin' with the food," he called to Rikki. "Let's just hope he didn't lie when he said he wouldn't eat it on the way here," he added dryly.

"Hey. Hey. Are you implying I'd lie?" Nahm was dragging the wagon, borrowed for the purpose of hauling food; there were bags and boxes of food piled precariously onto it. "I'm shocked. Shocked, dismayed, and hurt." Even under the scarf wound around his face and over his nose, he was obviously grinning, not actually upset at all. "Is this gonna be enough, or should I go sweet-talk some more out of Miz Ginger?"

She hadn't eaten. She hadn't slept. All Chuppi could think about from the time she awoke in her room to the time she wandered the hallways, was that she had watched two of her friends get turned into weapons. All she could think about was how her friends that came after her died as well, how none had been left standing. Her death had been quick, painless, but she had told the hunters everything. Did the others think her a traitor for it? Did they hate her despite how hard she'd bitten her tongue in an effort not to speak?
Eventually enough time had passed that the monster realized she wasn't in her room anymore, hadn't been there fore a while, and there were sounds coming from nearby. Chuppi'd positioned herself near the lake, she liked the sound of the water, but sleep had never come and now her nerves were basically shot as she listened to the voices. Slowly they came more into focus, they were fellow students of the school, and even though she felt safe the chupacabra hesitated in her decision to move downward. One of the voices had belong to Roch and Chuppi really wanted to see him, but how about him seeing her?
Would he know that she had told the hunters everything? Had any of that been real at all, and if it wasn't what did it prove? That she would turn on her friends so easily? She bit her lower lip and tottered out from the shadows, heading towards the reaper boy with her eyes cast downwards. She looked horrible in terms of her skin being an ashy green, but otherwise she didn't look ill or unkempt. Wandering tended to keep a person from getting disgusting. "Gran hermano."
Her call to Roch was soft but steady, and her footsteps halted about four feet away.

Rikki hauled a log on his shoulder to the circle, wrapping his chains around it for extra grip. He couldn't help but give a barking laugh at the exchange between Roch and Nahm. "I'd be willing to bet that there was more food on that wagon at some point before you got here," he called. He tossed the log into the pile with the rest and dusted his hands off, wrapping his chains back around his arm. "I might trust Nahm more with food than I do you though, Roch."
"Where's Danny? Can't light the fire without her."

"Hey Chuppi! C'mon over, screech, we're just getting everything set up for the bonfire," Roch called over to the little monster ghoul.
Then he turned to Rikki to answer the question. "Danny's comin', but we can't light the fire till we've got enough wood, anyway," he said. "And I'm bettin' Rikki's right. That thing can carry a hell of a lot more--you got the bungee cords, right?" he said to Nahm. "You at least brought stuff we can roast, right? I wanna try and put pizza on a stick."
He had it all figured out, too! He'd pierce it with the stick here, and there-- as he was thinking he summoned his guitar and headed for the stack of wood they'd piled to the side to cut it into smaller pieces.

"Bungee cords?" Nahm asked. "I didn't see 'em. You sure you put them back after last time you used 'em for kinky stuff?" The part about kinky stuff was completely made up, but nobody had to know that. He started unloading the wagon onto the table that they'd set up off to one side to hold the snacks. You couldn't exactly put them on the ground, after all. Not everyone could or would eat dirt and sand, and it wasn't in the recipe for most of these things.
"I got a jar of nice fresh eyeballs," he said. "You gotta be careful when you put 'em on the skewer, but they're delicious roasted." He waved to Rikki and the cute, spiny girl lurking shyly nearby.

Speak of the jackdamn demon.
Danny had just made it over the tiny hill that left her out of view until then. As soon as she found them she began running until she was near the foursome. She caught Nahm and Rikki's eye but put a finger to her mouth and smiled. Chuppi wasn't looking in her direction, but she assumed the ghoul was smart enough to get her signals. With her other hand she waved at them and winked.
Though Roch PROBABLY already knew she was there (seriously, she was the loudest creature in Halloween), she ran up to his turned back and jumped on. "Rooooooch!" she yelled, giggling. "You better not have eaten everything already. I'll light your pants on fire right here and now." She was very serious. She wanted food too.

Chuppi was quiet, it was easy enough for her to do, and she took a few uneasy steps towards the group before actually putting in effort to reach their side. A few faces she knew, like Danny and Roch, but the others were pulling blanks in her mind. They had to have been friends of Roch or they would not have been there so early in and if they were friends then was it safe? The monster felt her cheeks flush with nerves as she drew over to Roch's side where he was cutting wood. Part of her wanted to reach out and place a hand on his pant leg, to fully get his attention, but instead she just stood there and watched him cut the wood.
Like a creeper.
It was then that she also noticed she'd been waved at by one the people she didn't know and her face lit up like a green christmas tree. She gingerly raised her hand back and waved towards Nahm, uncertain of his name or who he was or what he was doing other than bringing food and asking weird questions. She managed a shy smile somewhere in the process before she did indeed move behind Roch, placing her hand against him after all as though he could hide both her and her spines behind his thin frame.
It was wishful thinking, considering Danny was on his back too and making a lot of noise. It was hard to stay hidden when something near you was practically acting like a beacon of attention.

Roch almost fell over, his balance interrupted because he'd been about to chop the wood. "Go yell at Nahm, he's the one that brought it!" Roch told her, getting his balance back. "Sheesh, Danny, does it look like I'm eatin' at the moment? We got no fire to cook it over!"
He glanced down at Chuppi, grinning slightly. "It's okay, little sister," he said quietly. "Everyone here is safe. I swear. Guys, when we do get the bonfire started, make sure not to look directly at the flames, got it?" Which seemed a strange instruction. "Especially when it gets dark."

Safe? Chuppi wasn't sure anywhere was safe anymore, not if the way the horseman decided to show things happened to be true, but she wanted to believe in Roch and his words so she smiled at him and let go of his pants, taking a few steps back to check on what was going on. "Is there to be a party? A bonfire is what?" She had never heard of a bonfire before (large fires were still known though) and she never thought people would make them on purpose and then gather around them. "Are we celebrating something?"
Celebrating survival, perhaps.

Rikki waved back at Nahm and grinned at Danny as he dragged another log to the pile. He'd just made it went Roch gave his weird instructions, and Rikki nearly dropped the wood on his foot in confusion. "What are you talking about, man? It's just a fire." Which was bad enough, but he didn't see why they couldn't look at it.
He glanced at Chuppi, who he hadn't really noticed before, and shook his head. "Not really celebrating. Just being together, not alone in our rooms."

Out of all of the places someone could find Moure, probably one of the least likely of them would've been at a bonfire.
None the less, after Roch had mentioned it to him before, Moure found himself leaving the dorms and heading to the lakeside where the reaper was throwing the party. After a few moments, he found the section of lakeside in question and made his way over. There were a couple of people he didn't know, a slight ghoul near Roch and someone clad in a lot of dark robes, but if they were here and speaking jovially with the others, he'd assume they were on the Halloween side. Otherwise he knew everyone present up to that point. Danny was being Danny and attempting to tackle Roch, Roch was being tackled, and Rikki was ...dragging over some more wood. All in all, no one really seemed like they'd just died a few days ago during tha trial. Hopefully that was a good sign. He gave the people he knew a nod and wave before surveying the progress they'd made toward partying.
It seemed he'd arrived before the actual lighting of the fire, which was good for him because that meant he'd be able to put some distance between himself and the flames right when they were starting up. In the mean time, he didn't have to worry about them. Moure circled around Roch so he was facing the reaper instead of his demon-covered back. "Hey Roch. Need any more help getting ready?" He also gave Danny a grin, since he was already facing her as well. "Hey Danny. Good to see you!" Which really was true. Moure hadn't seen Danny in ages, it seemed. It was nice to see that she was alright after the whole trial ordeal. He gave a nod to the chupacabra near Roch as well, despite not knowing who she was.

"You stare at a bright light at night, you're blind when you look into the dark for a few moments," Roch explained. "And off," he told Danny, shrugging to try and get her off his back. "Go climb on Rikki for a bit, already. I'm tryin' to get the wood chopped for the bonfire!"
He looked at Moure. "Yo, Moure, uhhh..." He looked around for something NOT fire based for the patchwork to do. "Can y'help Nahm over there set up the food? Make sure the guy doesn't eat it all, and don't look directly into his mouth--just sayin."
Then he looked at Chuppi. "But we are sort of celebrating," he told her. "In a real quiet sort of way--" yes, this WAS quiet to the punk. "My team was one of the three winning groups of the trials, lil sister! We only had to be thrown into spike pits and turned into weapons to get it," he added dryly.

Danny laughed at Roch. "You're chicken! Roch is scared of fire, Roch is scared of fi- WHOAAA." She fell to the ground as Roch shoved her off, but she landed on her feet well enough. Maybe a scrap knee, but she was fine. Its not like she didn't already have bandaids all over her knees. She stuck her tongue out at Roch, but he gave her instructions.
Which of course Danny was going to follow quite literally. She hadn't noticed until Roch mentioned it, but hey! Moure was here. Danny smiled and went to hug the boil, then remembered she had a mission to do. She settled for a quick hug and said, "Moure! I'll talk to you later okay? I have to do something." She hummed and walked over to Rikki. The poor boil.
"Rikki stay put, I have to climb you," she said very sternly, putting her hands on his shoulders, and preparing to climb on top of Rikki like she'd done with Roch.
DON'T GIVE HER INSTRUCTIONS ROCH. SHE'LL DO THEM. O_O
