The fog had consumed her in an unfamiliar form. Angenora was laying in her dorm room with a pained expression on her face. One arm was above her head and the other was over her stomach. One of her beloved mini pets began to paw at her cheek. Slowly her eyes open to see all four of the mini pets around her head. She blinked a few times slowly as she tried to figure out what had happened. She gasped as she quickly sat up, touching her face in fear that she was still a hunter's weapon.

"Was it just a dream?" The undead ghoul asked herself as she felt a cold sweat on her brow. She wiped it off as she looked around the room to make sure she was back in her own room. She sighed a sigh of relief as she began to pet one of the minis. Her attention was caught by a paper that hung on her door by some simple tape.

EXAM AUTHENTICATION APPROVAL

Genora was baffled by what was written on it. She had to sit back down onto the bed before she would pass out. "The trials were only... an exam, but the last one felt so real..." She said as she shivered slightly. She remembered the pain and body changes she went through. She shook the thoughts from her mind as she stood back to her feet. She remembered how her teammates have tried to break out of their cages to save her. She began to tear up at how much she let them down. "Sheridan, Petro, Sepheran..." She said quietly to herself before heading out of her room. She locked the door behind her then headed off towards the Library.

She had pulled out her eyephone to see if she remembered to add her teammates numbers. She smiled lightly to see that she had Sheridan's put down. She began to text him a simple message to see if he was alright.

Text to Sheridan
Hey, you alright? Did you wanna meet up to talk about it? How does the library sound?

She typed out then hit send. She waited in front of the doors as she waited for him to text her back.

There was something at the edge of his consciousness, voices? Or was it the angry meows of a cat who was wondering where his breakfast was? His thoughts stirred, his mind awoke, he became aware of his own consciousness. But, how was that possible? How was he aware of anything? He was sure there had been nothing, that he had--

He awoke with a start, bolting to his feet so suddenly that the cat who had previously been at his side was sent scurrying across the room. He was...alive? But how? Had it all been a dream? No, it couldn't have been, it had been far to real to be only a dream. All he had seen, all he had felt, the horror, the fear, the pain, no, it was more than a dream. Maybe it was this that was the dream. No, if that were true there would be no dreams, there would be nothing at all, and yet...

It was as he tried to sort his thoughts, moving around his room as if lost in a fog that his eyes fell on the document that had been left on his desk. Exam authentication approval? He read over the words in disbelief. An exam? That's what this had been? All of it, everything, it had all been a part of the trials? THIS is what the trial had been?

Feelings of anger, hatred, fury, and or horror came flooding into his mind. The horsemen had done this to them, they had done THIS. They had been toyed with, tortured, killed, and destroyed for this, for the trials. Who in jack's name were these horsemen?! What kind of twisted mind did this to other creatures, and why had the professors allowed this to happen? He had never trusted the horsemen, never certain of their goals, but now, now he was far from convinced they were not as bad as or worse than the hunters. Oh god, what had they done to him, what they done to them all?

Sheridan curled against himself as images, emotions, and senses of those events all came flooding back to him. The ruined world, the hunters, the white lights, cages, the chamber, the knife, oh god, oh god! Memories of his friends and teammates, Petro, Seph, Ange--

He nearly jumped, the sound of his found suddenly jarring him from his thoughts. Standing to his feet again, he searched his room until he found the eyephone, quickly flicking through the screens until he found the text. It was from Angenora! She was alive, she wasn't a weapon?

His still reeling thoughts and emotions were pushed down for the moment, the thought of his friends suddenly taking over. He had to find them, he had to make sure they were okay!

Quote:
I'm on my way.

The text hurriedly sent, he shoved the eyephone in his pocket and rushed out the door on his way to the library.

Angenora blinked as she felt her eyephone buzz between her breast and dress. She took out an earbud as she looked at the message from the celestial dragon. Giving off a light smile as she began to text away then sent the message.

Wrote:
I'm outside the Library. Thank Jack you're alright..."

She put the phone back and the earbud as well. She was listening to something simple to pass the time until Sheridan would show up. She didn't know exactly where the monster dorms where, but they shouldn't be too far. "I wonder if Petro and Sepheran are alright too..." She said to herself quietly before her mind drifted back to the memories of the Death Trial. She shivered as a few tears rolled down her cheeks.

He barely paused in his steps, taking a moment to read the text before returning the phone to his pocket. There was no need to respond, he would find her in a moment and whatever there was to say, or not say, could be said then.

Talons clicked on the floor with his steps, his pace quickened the closer he got to the library. He was still not convinced this was not a dream, the last dreams of final moments. He couldn't shake it, would they wake again the next moment, only to find the dream was real and that this was the dream?

He rounded the corner, stopping in his tracks as he saw her. She was really there, she wasn't alive, she wasn't a weapon. Thank god. For the moment it didn't matter if it was a dream or not anymore, for now his fear was forgotten.

Several quick strides and he had closed the distance between them. Before she responded, before she could answer, he had already reached out, catching her in an embrace. She was okay, she wasn't a hunter's weapon, she was really here.

"You're okay?"

It seemed he hadn't let her go yet...

Angenora blinked when she heard some clicking sounds on the floor from a distance. She pulled out the headphones and paused her music only to see a large dragon boil practically charge at her. Being scooped up into the embrace she was deeply caught off guard. Her feet dangled in the air as she was held onto . She smiled lightly, wrapping her arms around his neck, resting her face in the crook of his name. Her hold was firm for someone so small, but zombies do have unnatural strength.

"I'm alright, doing better knowing at least one of my teammates are fine." She said lightly as she noticed what she was doing. She moved her face away from his neck to see him eye to eye. "I'm just glad nothing really happened after all..." She said as she felt herself relax in his embrace. She rested a hand on his cheek, feeling the scales against her decaying flesh. She really needed to stop flirting with boils or ghouls, especially teammates.

"Care to sit somewhere and talk this over?" Genora asked sweetly as she looked over towards the library. They could talk, but it would have to be a whisper inside since she learned that you could get in trouble for talking too loud. "I don't mind going somewhere were you're comfortable to talk." She quickly added before the dragon could speak.

It was a moment before he remember where he was, that he was holding his one time teammate off her feet in a hug that he had not yet released. He was so relieved to see her, his fear that they may all wake up and return to the nitemare fading bit by bit.

Still, maybe he should put her down now...

He set her back on her feet, giving her a small smile. If she was flirting, he didn't mind, maybe he was just too relieved they were alive to really catch it.

"Maybe we could go outside?"

Normally he would have liked the library, but now being somewhere open felt more comfortable. Somewhere like the roof, it was quiet and peaceful there, or under a tree, somewhere he could see the sky.

"Outside sounds like a better idea. Where did you have in mind?" Angenora asked after she was set back down onto the ground. She looked around then put a hand to her chin as she tried to think of where they could go. "Any preferences?" She asked, trying to be serious. she was just relieved that Sheridan was alive. Genora didn't know what had happened after her body had warped into something unspeakable.

The undead ghoul shivered lightly at the thought that seemed to haunt her mind. "I'm fine with anywhere you pick, Sheridan." she finally said as she put her hands behind her back with a toothy smile.

He didn't miss the shiver, his gaze turning downward, arms wrapped around himself. His own nitemare had been horrific, but hers... He remembered watching, helpless to stop as she was destroyed and changed before his eyes, unable to help no matter how hard he tried. Being turned into a weapon, it was his greatest fear, he did not envy the fate she had seen.

"Maybe the roof? It's quiet up there."

His tail twitched lightly, uncertainly.

"Or there's a tree down..."

His voice trailed off, he really wasn't sure where he wanted to go. He wasn't even sure how much he wanted to talk. But being with his friends, being with Angenora right then, he did know that it was something they both needed. And maybe, maybe talking would help they get through it, even if they only talked a little and just sat quietly the rest of the time."

"The roof sounds like a good idea. No one will be able to bother us or listen in on our conversation." She pointed out, trying to be a bit cheerful about his idea. She put a hand one his arm, trying to comfort him. "Hey... We're both alright and I believe that Petro and Sepheran are alright as well. Maybe talking about it will help?" She added as she motioned towards the roof of the library.

She moved her hand away and began to head over towards the side where she could climb up with ease. She wasn't worried about cut or bruises since she was already dead as it is. She looked around after reaching the top with a light smile. "It's quite peaceful up here. Better than my dorm with all my minis meowing up a storm." She pointed out as she looked up towards the sky. The stars were out and it looked like the sea at night. "Do you come up here often?" She asked as she looked over towards him. She was trying to make light conversation.

Sheridan nodded, the roof it was, the roof was good with him.

"Yeah."

He rubbed the back of his neck not sounding entirely convinced. They were here, they were alive, surely Petro and Seph were as well. Logic should have told him so, and yet, and yet he could not shake the fear.

His accent to the roof was quick, a single beat of his wings and a light landing on the roof above. He held out a hand, offering help if she needed or wanted it, though it seemed she was perfectly capable of climbing herself.

"I like to watch the stars from up here."

There had been many nights he sat on the roof above his dorm, looking up at the stars above until he fell asleep. Sleep, he didn't want to think about that, no, he didn't think he'd be sleeping for a while.

"My cat is more likely to bite my tail than meow."

There was a half-hearted smile, he was trying at least.

"I've always be fascinated by the stars since I can remember. Well cause the first day that I can remember the moon was kinda orange and the stars seemed like they danced around it with hues of red, white, and yellow." Angenora said as she found a nice place to sit. she sat near the middle so she wouldn't lose balance and possibly fall. She looked over to Sheridan with a light giggle. "That's not very nice of your cat." She said as she patted the spot beside her for him to join.

"I still can't believe that those trials were only an exam. I mean, it felt so real yet it wasn't. Do you understand what I mean?" Genora said as she became serious about the whole event that terrified her, but brought her closer to Sheridan. She didn't even know he had been around the school, but she happy to call him a close friend of hers.

His tail flicked, his gaze turned toward the sky for a moment as he stood on the edge of the roof.

"When I look up at the stars...I feel...closer to home."

He didn't know if she knew what he meant, it was difficult to explain if one did not understand dragons. Though after a look at his star littered hide, it would hardly be a surprise that the stars meant more to him than lights in the sky. To the cosmic (or celestial as they were also know), the stars -were- home.

"No, I suppose it's not, but he has his good points too."

Not that he could think of any at the moment. Still, mean as the cat was, he did have his moments, those times he would curl up to Sheridan and allow himself to be petted, those times he would purr in contentment at an ear scratch or two, or a shared spookie. Of course there were also the shredded books, stolen treats, teeth marks in his tail...why did he put up with that cat anyway? Whatever it was that may or may not have held them together, Sheridan would have missed the cat were he gone.

He was quiet as he sat next to her, one knee drawn to himself, his arms wrapped around himself. For a moment he listened in silence, even his tail curled and still.

"I do, I'm still not entirely convinced it wasn't real. I'm afraid...afraid I might wake up and be back in that nitemare. Are we really here? Or is this a dream?"

His voice shook as he spoke, oh please let this be real and not a dream. He didn't want to wake up there again.

"Closer to home? Is it because of you being a celestial dragon? I'm sorry if it seems like I know a bit about you. I read in my spare time and was reading up on reptilian creatures. There was a section on types of dragons that were known to halloweeners." Angenora explained as she pointed up towards the sky. "That and it could also explain your coloration." She added, sounding like a true bookworm when it came to certain subjects.

Genora watched as he sat next to her. She listened to his shaky words, "Hence why I know I won't be able to sleep for a while. I mean, it felt so real. I didn't get the witness what had happened to the rest of you guys. I only felt that my whole being had changed... What happened, Sheridan?" The undead ghoul asked as she scoot a bit closer to him. She put an arm around him as she felt that they both needed some comfort when it came to the trials.

"We're not really reptiles."

Despite any similarities they may have shared with reptiles, they were about as closely related to lizards as lizards were to mammals. For one, dragons were not cold-blooded. It might have been debatable if they were warm blooded either, at least in the sense of their blood itself being warm, it was...rather more complicated than that.

But he didn't dwell on the subject, it didn't seem that important right then.

"I...I don't know what happened to Petro and Seph."

He looked away, his tail curling tightly. He couldn't bear to speak of it, didn't want to think, he didn't want to remember, if only he could forget.

"I'm sorry...that I couldn't stop them."

"Sheridan... You did the best you could do." Angenora said as she rubbed his back lightly. She looked down at her feet then back up to him. "As you can see I'm more than alright. I'm not gone, now am I? I'm here to stay and that's all that matters right now." She told him then punched him lightly on the arm with a giggle. She was trying to get him out of this funky mood they both had been in since after they had woken up from the trials. "I have a feeling that Seph and Petro are just like us. Woke up in their room only to find a silly paper that said we had passed an exam. We practically cheated death this time!" She told him as she rose to her feet. "What can I do to help cheer you up?" Asking as she held out her hand to him.
