The note had come as a welcome surprise to Red Cliff, as he had wondered what, exactly, he planned to do with himself tonight. The whole patrolling thing still felt strange to him, especially because the Page rarely ran into other powered individuals ... for better or for worse. But that just sort of accentuated the strangeness, that he was taking it upon himself to go out and look for trouble now that he had magic powers. And there had been precious little guidance.
Well, he did suspect he had a mentor in Camelot, the other Knight who had been there when he had awakened. Camelot had also sounded like he knew what he was talking about when the whole bunch of them were gathered in the strange stone building in the dream. Red Cliff wanted to go to him and ask for help and experience and things but ...
... Man, he felt like such an idiot. The way he had gone to the Negaverse, and had nearly handed himself over to corruption with Camelot right there. The shame of it haunted him more doggedly than every time he had raised his hand in class and been wrong combined.
So the red-haired boy felt kind of awkwardly nervous as he headed towards the library in response to Camelot's summons, but at the same time did not dare avoid him. Maybe all the more awkward because he was certain Camelot knew his secret identity. That sort of thing could be blackmail material, couldn't it? But the elder Knight had not at all struck Red Cliff as the blackmailing type. Sort of went against the whole Knight thing, and the Knight of Earth had seemed really genuinely worried about him.
Red Cliff wanted to trust him, and really, all of his doubts centered around knowing that he himself was the big idiot.
Arriving at the library, he summoned his feather duster so he would have something to fiddle with, and looked around for signs of the other Knight.
"H-hello?"

Camelot had no intention of blackmailing poor Red Cliff. In fact, he only thought it fair that since he knew who Red Cliff was he would make sure to return the favor. Anyway, it was fitting to let Ian know he was with a friend. They had met in that dream world version of Camelot, after all, as Ian and Tony. This turn around seemed almost fitting in a very strange, twisted way.
He wasn't sure he'd be able to explain it if asked, though. It just made sense in his head.
So it wasn't Camelot waiting for him when he arrived at the library. It was Tony. He smiled, having long ago learned that the library was a safer place without security cameras than with them. He used it as his meeting place for the Knights, and he knew others used it as their quiet, safe place to go back to their Wonders or planets. It was a place for powered up people, in general, if they needed shelter.
Tony cleared his throat.
"Hello, Red Cliff," he said, hands up to indicate things were fine and he didn't need to panic. "I thought you might want to know who I am, and I need your help with something. So... two birds with one stone, I guess." He glanced around though he didn't need to, they were alone, then powered up. The surge of power he felt as he came into his new status as a full Knight was still unfamiliar, and he was getting used to the changes in his armor.
He smiled at Red Cliff, though, feeling better now that they were on even playing fields as far as identities went.

Red Cliff sailed in, having started to relax finally as he approached the library. Something about hopping from building to building, the rush of adrenaline and cool air. He was ready to apologize for being idiot, and might have even forgiven himself for it, too.
But finding Mister Darrow on the roof was definitely an unexpected surprise. The red-haired boy expected him to be near his natural habitat of the library, but ... on the roof?
"Mister Darrow!" the Page stammered as he stumbled up to him, looking around for sign of Camelot. "Do you need help? How did you get up here?"
And then the librarian made his introduction and powered up.
Red Cliff gaped for a long moment. And suddenly, rather a lot of things made sense. Especially how Camelot had recognized him back when he was still just dumb little Ian.
"Oh, man," he sighed when he could speak again, then laughed at himself. "Mind is blown. But ... thank you." Red Cliff smiled, then took a deep breath and added, "I'm sorry for being really, really stupid when I first powered up. I ... had no idea what was going on." Another weak laugh. "I guess I still don't. But. I'll help you."
He looked up, looking Camelot in the eye, for just a moment. "I owe it to you. What do you need?"

Camelot laughed, knowing it was probably not the nicest way to introduce himself properly, but it was certainly entertaining to watch all those emotions run across Red Cliff's face before he finally relaxed and seemed to understand.
Mostly.
Still, finding out a friend was actually powered up was never easy. Camelot had been floored more than once by the revelation, and he wondered how he had not recognized it before. It always made him feel stupid, in a way, and blind in another. Sometimes their spheres or costumes were so fitting to who they were, it was baffling that he had never figured it out.
He felt that way about himself. Like being Camelot was such an obvious thing to him, he fretted every day that someone would put it together. But the magic that protected their identities was strong, it seemed. He wondered if that was what aided Clark in his charade, since a cow lick and glasses were not the best disguise in the world.
"You don't owe me, but I appreciate your help. Actually, as much as I'd like to say that tonight I want to go out and save lives, I have a bit of a... personal errand I need help with. You know Dogby? My corgi. She's been... missing... for a little while now, and I was hoping maybe we could ah... go looking for her."
He looked sheepish, like asking such a simple favor was the silliest thing a knight could do. Was he using their powers and connections for selfish reasons? Maybe, but in the end, Dogby needed their help, too.
