Magild had brought a great feast into the frondlands. No scratch that, Magild brought a great feast wherever she went. Today she had some ESPECIALLY good things though. Little carved animals for her friends- the animals of the frondlands. Little nuts and things like acorns for her squirrel friends. Little toys for her beaver friends to gnaw on.
Then after she gave them her gifts, she would eat them. ******** yeah.
She was already drooling with anticipation. Aside from her gifts for her friends, she also had a few tiny ponies and wooden trolls for her bestest of friends, Maihue. She wasn't going to eat Maihue though. At least ... she was pretty sure she wasn't. Sometimes Maihue's toes looked yummy.
"O FRIENDDDDDD," she called out, waking up every freakin' creature in the frondlands. She knew she was somewhere near Maihue's hive. Just not uh ... where. "FRIEND I HAVE BROUGHT GIFTS."

Maihue was busy being a secret gardener at this hour of the night. She was checking every plant she had making sure they were getting enough light in the day, and that their water intake was just perfect.
" Ahhh.. I hope this suits you well, my little flower." Maihue said as she moved one of her many flowers closer to a window. She smiled at the flower and then the sound of a troll.. No... Not any troll, but Magild, made her jump. How is she possibly that loud?!
Maihue ran out of the room, locked it, pressed the hidden button to make it look like it wasn't there, and ran outside.
Maihue let out a long breath as she shut her door. " Alright.. You.. You can talk. It's alright, she is a close friend. No need.. to be nervous."
She started to walk confidently, but then as soon as she entered the forest she was twiddling her fingers and biting her lip. As she looked around, she finally spotted Magild.
" Oh..! T-there you are.. What have you brought? If you know, you don't mind me asking.."

Magild was overjoyed. There was her friend Maihue looking shy and awkward as ever! She immediately ran over to the girl and threw her arms around her in a hug, picking up the poor green-blood in the process, and probably breaking a few bones. What can you do when you learn your bear hugs from an actual bearmom.
"FRIENDDDD," she squealed, waving the girl around in the air. Eventually she put the green troll down and petted her friend's soft black hair. "Friend I have brought you hoofbeasts and squirrels!"
Reaching over her back, she pulled the brown sack off her shoulders and in front of her, opening it so Maihue could see inside. "See, I made many new ones for you!" Nevermind that Maihue probably had piles and piles of them in her home. Magild made them quite a bit.

Maihue knew she would never see the day that she wouldn't be bruised from these hugs. As she was let down she gasped for air and rubbed her arms.
She slowly stopped rubbing her arms and just kept her hands in place. Why not, it was comfortable.
Maihue looked into the bag that was opened for her. "There.. are a lot. So many of them.." Maihue smiled and reached into the bag to examine a hoofbeast.
"These are always n-nice to receive.. t..thank you." As Maihue's cheeks started to turn green, she looked down and fiddled around with the little hoofbeast.

SHE WAS SO CUTE.
Magild could've given her friend another bearmom hug right then and there. She was just so damn cute. Magild grabbed her cheeks and pinched them lovingly, saying, "Friend ye's are just so adorable!" Was it odd for a troll to be complimenting another troll? Maybe. It was okay though. Maihue was totally worth it.
She was already on to the next subject though. "Maihue ... friend ye wouldn't happen to haves any food, would ye?" She had a picnic basket in her bag, but that was the pre-midnight-post-mid-snack-snack. She needed her pre-midnight-pre-mid-snack-snack. This system was very important to her, okay?

Maihue's eyes grew wide as her cheeks were pinched.
THIS WASN'T.. THIS.. SHE DOESN'T KNOW. BUT.. it just wasn't.
"I UM.. HOW AM I.. A-ADORABLE? I don't see it I can't believe it I-"
Maihue stopped when Magild asked about food.
She stood there thinking for a moment. Did she have any food? Or did porcupine dad eat everything..?
"I think.. there may be something. I'll go check um.. I'll.. be right back!
Maihue ran off towards her hive, hoping that Magild wouldn't try to follow.

Magild tried to follow.
As she chased past Maihue (it really wasn't hard. Magild was much faster than the puny little Maihue), she shouted, "Friend are we going on a great adventure to find yer food? I would much like an adventure!" She'd also much like her food.
Why was Maihue even friends with this girl.

Of.. Of course she was followed.. And was behind Magild now. What was she even thinking.
"U-um... An adventure would be.. oh. Yes, an adventure. In.. In fact, lets go find something o-over here!"
Maihue decided to not go completely opposite, but just a detour towards the lake. The lake was big and full of.. stuff right? Actually Maihue had never actually been in the lake. She just liked to look at it because it was really really pretty.. So pretty.
Maihue wasn't thinking as she was running and as she looked around she noticed she could see her hive a little ways from this part of the lake.
She started to flush as she tried to think of what to do.
"Magild.. Um, why don't we search for s-something over here.. maybe..over..here.."
Oh she hoped this.. "idea" would work out.

Magild followed behind with a happy expression on her face. She was totally okay with walking a distance to get her delicious food. Especially in the frondlands! There were so many pretty beasts that she could just sit and drool at.
"Over there?" Magild said, pointing at the lake. "Friend I do not thinks there is anything over there!" she said, clapping Maihue on the back generously (possibly too generously ...). "Are ye sure there is foods?" she added playfully.
Of course Maihue had food for her. Didn't she?

Maihue wasn't expecting to be hit on the back, and stumbled forward. As she caught her balance, she laughed nervously.
"W-well... There should be stuff over there, I mean there's.. stuff everywhere.. I um... We could try couldn't we..? I-I mean it wouldn't hurt or anything.. "
Maihue took a deep breath and folded her arms as she walked closer to the lake. She looked around, and only saw plants. She frowned and looked into the lake.
If there really wasn't anything... Well... She guessed she could always have Magild wait outside her house. That wouldn't be such a big deal, right? No harm done?

Magild blinked a few times and then laughed. Clearly her friend wasn't about to lead her into a trap. No. Her friend would never do that ever.
"Okay! Y'better have gotten me a turkey-beast. Mmm turkey-beast," Magild said, slowly drifting off into a daydream of being surrounded by cooked turkey-beast.
With that decided, Magild lumbered off towards the lake, pulling up leaves and rocks (so pretty much tearing up the fronds ...) in her search for food. "I do not seeeeeee itttt ..."
But it had to be there. Because Maihue would never lie to her.
